Dan Brown Announces New Da Vinci Code Novel and Release Date
It has been eight years since Dan Brown published "Origin", the fifth novel in his best-selling Robert Langdon series.
The novels about the Harvard symbologist, especially 2003's "The Da Vinci Code", have proven to be widely popular, selling over 120 million copies worldwide.
Tom Hanks starred as Langdon in three movies based on the series and now the sixth novel has finally been announced Wednesday by the author himself.
Appearing on "Good Morning America", Brown shared that the new book will be called "The Secret of Secrets" and will be published worldwide on September 9.
The author explained why the new book has taken him so long to write.
He said: 'I can now tell you that The Secret of Secrets is by far the most intricately plotted and ambitious book that I have ever written. And I happen to think that it's the fun. I cannot wait to share it with you on September 9.'
"The Secret of Secrets" begins in Prague with Langdon planning to see a lecture by Katherine Solomon, a scientist and love interest of his. That is until her talk turns into a murder scene, and she disappears.
According to Doubleday publishers: "As the plot expands into London and New York, Langdon desperately searches for Katherine... and for answers. 'In a thrilling race through the dual worlds of futuristic science and mystical lore, he uncovers a shocking truth about a secret project that will forever change the way we think about the human mind.'
In a statement, Brown added: "I happen to believe we are on the cusp of a major revolution in the way we think about our brains and our relationships to each other,' he said. 'Cutting-edge science is now exploring advanced models of consciousness that seem poised to explain some of the mind's deepest mysteries. I chose this topic because I find it irresistibly compelling, and also because it is relevant to every single one of us.'

Eric Dane Walks First Red Carpet Since ALS Diagnosis, Vows to Keep Acting: "It Always Feels Great to Be on Set"
Yara Sameh Eric Dane arrived at Amazon MGM's premiere of 'Countdown' in Los Angeles on Wednesday, marking his first red carpet appearance since announcing that he had been diagnosed with ALS. 'I feel good,' Dane told Variety. 'It's nice to be here with everybody and see the hours and hours of work that we put into this come alive on screen.' Dane joined his 'Countdown' co-stars Jensen Ackles, Jessica Camacho, Elliot Knight, Violett Beane, and Uli Latukefu, along with series creator and executive producer Derek Haas, for the premiere at the Harmony Gold Theater. The actor is also preparing for HBO's 'Euphoria,' returning for the drama series' long-awaited third season. While Dane hasn't shot any scenes yet, he affirmed that production is underway. 'You're going to get more of the same, which I think, for that show, is a good thing,' Dane said about the coming episodes. 'We're moving right along. I don't know exactly what it is I'm doing, per se, but I trust [creator] Sam Levinson with every fiber of my being.' As for other projects on the horizon, Dane said he was determined to keep acting even with his diagnosis: 'It always feels great to be on a set. It's great to be employed. I love what I give. I'm going to keep doing it.' The evening marked Dane's first public outing since the broadcast of his emotional ' Good Morning America ' interview with Diane Sawyer in which he revealed he now only has 'one functioning arm.' 'My left side is functioning, my right side has completely stopped working,' he noted, adding that his left arm has been getting weaker as well. 'I feel like maybe a couple more months and I won't have my left hand either. It's sobering.' The 52-year-old 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Euphoria' star was diagnosed in April. He first started having symptoms a year and a half ago when he began to experience weakness in his right hand. ALS is a fatal, progressive, degenerative disease that breaks down the nerves in the body, weakening muscles and causing eventual paralysis, impacting patients' ability to breathe, speak, and move. There is currently no cure. Dane has affirmed that he wants to continue with his career: 'I am ready and willing to do just about anything, but I have limitations that I understand will preclude me from playing certain roles,' the actor said. 'I'm working on 'Euphoria.' I finished 'Countdown.' As far as that goes, I'm pretty capable.' The first three episodes of 'Countdown' premiere on Prime Video on June 25. New episodes will follow weekly ahead of the season finale on September 3. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Eric Dane Breaks Silence on ALS Diagnosis: 'It's Not A Dream'
Yara Sameh Eric Dane is having his first sit-down interview since announcing that he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). On Thursday, Dane, 52, got emotional in a teaser clip for an upcoming interview with Diane Sawyer on Monday's episode of Good Morning America, in which he unpacks life with his ALS diagnosis. 'I wake up every day and I'm immediately reminded that this is happening,' he told Sawyer. 'It's not a dream.' The 30-second sneak peek shows Dane and Sawyer holding hands as they talk about life following his diagnosis. It ends with the "Euphoria" star breaking down in tears, showing a glimpse of how emotional the conversation will be. After recently returning to work on "Euphoria", Dane remains optimistic about what lies ahead. 'I don't think this is the end of my story. I don't feel like this is the end of me,' he said. The "Grey's Anatomy" alum announced his health news to People in April. "I have been diagnosed with ALS,' he shared. 'I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.' Dane is married to Rebecca Gayheart and the couple shares two children, Billie Beatrice, 15, and Georgia Geraldine, 13. 'I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time,' he added. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a rare degenerative disease that causes progressive paralysis of the muscles. Patients first experience twitching or weakness in a limb, often followed by slurred speech. According to the Mayo Clinic, because the disease affects the nerve cells in the brain and spine that control muscle movement, patients slowly lose their ability to speak, eat, walk, and breathe independently. There's no cure for ALS, and people usually live three to five years after diagnosis, according to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. However, some patients can live decades. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Katy Perry Will Head to Space with Historic Blue Origin All-Women Flight
Pop star Katy Perry will head to space as a part of an upcoming all-women flight on Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket. The "Firework' singer will be joined by Blue Origin owner Jeff Bezos's fiancee Lauren Sanchez, CBS presenter Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn. Blue Origin said this is the first all-women space flight to take place since the Soviet Union's Valentina Tereshkova's solo mission in 1963. There is no specific date for the launch, but Blue Origin said it would take place this spring. Perry is scheduled to be on her Lifetimes Tour from April 23 until November 11, so this trip is expected to take place before that. "If you had told me I'd be part of the first all-female crew in space, I would have believed you. Nothing was beyond my imagination as a child," Perry said in a statement. The NS-31 mission will be the 11th human spaceflight for the New Shepard rocket and the 31st in its history. So far, the programme has launched 52 people into space. A trip on the New Shepard typically lasts about 11 minutes, according to Blue Origin. It is fully autonomous - which means there are no pilots - and takes the passengers past the Karman line, internationally recognised as the edge of space. Blue Origin credited Lauren Sanchez for bringing the mission together, saying in its press release that she is "honored to lead a team of explorers on a mission that will challenge their perspectives of Earth, empower them to share their own stories, and create lasting impact that will inspire generations to come". Sanchez first announced her plan to fly with an all-women crew on a Blue Origin rocket in 2023 in an interview with Vogue, saying they were "paving the way for women". This is the latest group of celebrities to embark on a space flight. Bezos himself flew on the company's first manned mission in 2021. Good Morning America's co-host Michael Strahan and Star Trek actor William Shatner have also been blasted into space on one of Bezos's rockets. Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Galactic, made a trip aboard his company's VSS Unity spacecraft in July 2021. SpaceX founder Elon Musk, however, is yet to make a trip.
