Keep these 4 items out of your bedroom, feng shui expert warns — they could kill your vibe and even your relationship
A feng shui expert has revealed the four common items that people should never keep by their beds.
Feng shui, also known as Chinese geomancy, is an ancient Chinese practice that's meant to balance people with their environments and make everything flow to promote prosperity and well-being.
Sanhe Shanren, a Chinese culture feng shui master, posted on TikTok the four things that could be draining your energy and causing fatigue, or 'at worst, affect wealth and health.'
The first thing on his list was flowers — particularly for couples.
'Fresh flowers don't belong in couples' bedrooms,' he said in the video with 449,000 views. 'They invite third-party involvement, harming marital bonds.'
However, the rule is different for single people. As the expert said, single people may display fresh flowers as long as they remember to change the water frequently: 'Never let flowers wilt.'
Second, trash bins should never be placed near a bed because they 'carry turbid energy.'
'If placed bedside, you breathe this murky energy while sleeping,' he warned. 'Long-term exposure harms health.'
He also advised against keeping medicines or medical records in bedside drawers.

'These health adverse items affect mood and mental state,' he said. Instead, he advised keeping all medications and medical records 'in boxes out of sight.'
Finally, metal objects such as scissors or nail clippers should be kept far away from your bed.
'Feng shui teaches that sharp metal easily pierces your energy shield when too close,' he explained.
He urged his followers to 'go check immediately' if any of these objects were placed near their beds.
Users rushed to the comment section to thank Sanhe for the advice.
'I need to empty my drawers. That's why my energy has been off,' one person wrote.
'So true I have none of those items in my bedroom,' another chimed in.
'I keep so many of these near my bed cuz they are handy to have close if I need them,' a user admitted.

However, others shared their personal reasons for why they purposely keep these items by their beds.
'If I don't have my meds nearby, I don't take them. At least the adhd ones need to be there, cause I will stay in bed for days otherwise,' someone shared.
'my diabetic a– needs my meds by my bed,' another said.
Another person shared a very common NYC situation: 'i live in a studio. i live between my trashcan, my desk, my door, my mirror and my wilting flowers.'
'…I was taught as a kid to put a pair of scissors underneath my pillow to Ward off bad dreams. It always worked and even if my scissors slipped off the bed or fell down the back, it would be the night that I didn't sleep without knowing. What would feng shui say about that? I am genuinely curious,' one person challenged.

Fart walking — do this 10-minute indoor walking workout immediately after eating to lower your blood sugar, aid weight loss
If you've been on TikTok recently, you've probably heard about fart walking — the idea of going for a walk after eating to help boost digestion and relieve bloating. Yet according to research published in the International Journal of General Medicine, there's another huge benefit of walking directly after a meal: lowering your blood sugar. If weight loss is your goal, lowering your sugar levels is a good place to start. The best part about this workout is you don't have to leave your house — perfect if you've got kids upstairs in bed, or you don't want to walk alone in the evenings. All you'll need is 10 minutes, and perhaps a yoga mat to walk on. If you want to check out your calorie burn, strapping one of the best fitness trackers to your wrist might help, but as with all indoor walking workouts, you'll want to make sure you're swinging your arms throughout for a more accurate reading. The workout, devised by fitness coach Caroline Jordan, was shared on her YouTube channel. "You can use this video immediately after eating to lower your blood sugar," Caroline says, and users in the comment section of the video have claimed the workout helped them to lose weight. Far from just walking on the spot for 10 minutes, the workout involves various marches, side steps, hamstring stretches, and overhead reaches. It's designed to boost your digestion. The best part is, you won't need any special equipment; you can just follow along with Caroline in real time. According to the International Journal of General Medicine study, there are several benefits to walking straight after a meal. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. The researchers compared the benefits of a 30-minute walk straight after a meal to a 30-minute walk one hour after eating. Participants completed a month of walks, and the team found that the group who walked for 30-60 minutes right after their meals lost more weight. But why? Walking after a meal reduces your blood sugar levels and the level of sugar in your interstitial fluid (the layer of fluid surrounding your body's cells). While digestion uses this glucose for energy, excess glucose in your bloodstream can be stored as fat. If you're looking to lose or manage your weight, focusing on your blood glucose levels is a good place to start. Of course, if you'd prefer to head outdoors, especially in the summer months, you have the added mental health boost of an evening walk, which can lower your stress levels and help you sleep better. That fart walk might not be so silly after all! Why not carve out 10 minutes and give this workout a try?

How Women Can Prevent Hair Loss by Nourishing the Liver and Kidneys
Hair health reflects overall physical well-being. Women often experience hair loss due to various causes, including postpartum recovery, menopause, alopecia areata, or scalp issues such as itchiness and dandruff, exacerbated by summer heat. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) offers a holistic approach, emphasizing a blend of targeted dietary supplements, meticulous scalp care, and proper hair-washing techniques to reduce hair loss effectively. Dr. Chen Hsin-hung, a TCM practitioner at Hanyitang Chinese Medicine clinics in Taiwan, shared a case of hair loss. A woman in her 20s developed alopecia areata (patchy baldness) after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, which left her deeply distressed when her hair almost entirely fell out. Through 6 to 8 months of TCM treatment, she regrew dark, vibrant hair. Exploring Hair Loss Causes With TCM From the perspective of TCM, the liver and kidneys are closely related to hair health as they play a vital role in the internal organ-centered energy system.

I spent $200 on the viral ‘Japanese head spa' treatment for hair health — but does it actually work?
Social media is a powerful thing. Especially when you're someone who is inclined to buy something, go somewhere, try something, taste something, wear something, JUST because people online said it's good. Hi, it's me. I'm that person. And for months and months I've been ignoring the videos of people trying out those viral Japanese head spa treatments spammed in my feed on TikTok and Instagram. But then I caved. Toyko Headspa — the Japanese treatment that has content creators frothing I noticed a newish salon was offering the viral treatment that so many people have been raving about online, so of course I had to give it a try. Tokyo Headspa offered at Salon Lane in Sydney, Australia boasts an impressive menu for anyone who just wants to bliss out. Each treatment offers different solutions to boost hair and scalp health, reduce stress and 'leave you feeling like you're floating in a dream…' They're not my words, that's what it promises on the website. But think… the super relaxing head massage you get before your haircut at your local hairdresser, but add another WHOLE HOUR to it. It's that — no matter what treatment you get. I schlepped my tired self and neglected mane to the Bondi Junction salon and opted for the Sakuya Hime treatment. The whole treatment goes for one hour and 40 minutes and is said to encourage hair regrowth — and after two kids and a decent amount of postpartum hair loss, I figured I'd lean in to some benefits as well as much-needed relaxation. Japanese head spa treatments have gone viral for supposedly helping hair and scalp health. X/@ I'll forewarn you… the treatment is $194. I know… Once you settle in to your quiet room, the treatment begins with your therapist selecting which scalp serum and shampoo is best for you. Mine chose something moisturizing and off we went. The experience begins with a relaxing head massage using the selected serum, and it's followed up with a shampoo and detoxifying massage to help cleanse and invigorate the scalp. Prepare for the Japanese Waterfall! Another treatment is applied, followed by some hair and scalp brushing before you're then prepared for the warm and nourishing head bath. This is where the viral Japanese waterfall is applied. If you get the targeted content on social media too, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about! When the waterfall was applied, I thought I had gone to heaven. The warm water gently rinses your hair while encouraging a calm relaxation. It worked. I think I fell asleep. The treatment involves a relaxing 'Japanese waterfall' over the client's head. X/@ The treatment ends with another head, shoulder and neck massage and then your hair is dried off to prepare you to continue on with your day with complete zen. I was warned multiple times that the treatment does NOT include any styling, so I got a sense that this is something they really needed their clients to understand. And I did… until I caught a glimpse of my extremely curly and frizzy hair in a mirror while walking back to the lift post treatment. It wasn't pretty. So does this viral beauty treatment live up to the hype? Now, here's where I get really honest… If you're thinking '$194 for a glorified hair wash, YOU'RE CRAZY!' I hear you loud and clear! This is an experience that is completely indulgent, and if you have a mortgage like me, the price tag stings. But there's no doubt this is a treatment that any tired mum would enjoy. It would make a perfect gift for someone who needs some 'me time' and there are other treatments you can choose that are a little more justifiable.
