New dispute breaks out between GIPE & parent body SIS over financial control
Pune: Tensions between Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE) and its parent body, Servants of India Society (SIS), flared up once again after both indulged in allegations and counter-allegations related to a bank account.

At a press conference on Thursday, GIPE's officiating deputy registrar Vishal Gaikwad, accused SIS of wrongdoing, including freezing its account. However, SIS president Damodar Sahoo, who later met reporters, countered the charges.
Gaikwad said, "We came to know 3-4 days ago that Sahoo wrote to the bank to freeze the account from which the staff salaries are disbursed. But we met the bank's officials and made it operational."
Sahoo, on the other hand, stated that it was a joint account with two signatories, SIS and GIPE. However, GIPE had removed SIS's signatory without any prior notification.
He said, "Hence, we wrote to the bank to freeze the account to know what happened as this has been a joint account since inception and there have always been two signatories and one cannot randomly delete one signatory."
In April, an FIR was lodged by GIPE against SIS's former secretary Milind Deshmukh, accusing him of misappropriating funds worth Rs 1.42 crore.
Gaikwad said that he wrote to the police asking them to add Sahoo's name to the FIR. Sahoo said he has no information about GIPE's letter, nor have the police contacted him.
In view of their allegations against SIS of misusing GIPE funds, Gaikwad said that the institute wrote to the charity commissioner requesting suspension of the SIS leadership and appointment of an administrator. Sahoo alleged that GIPE has no right to make such a demand since SIS is its parent body.

A few months ago, SIS had accused interim VC Shankar Das of allegedly bypassing procedures in faculty and staff recruitment at GIPE which escalated to the SIS removing Sanjeev Sanyal as chancellor and appointing an interim chancellor.
Sanyal hit back, alleging lack of transparency in financial transactions of SIS. In a series of posts on X, Sanyal said that JNU vice-chancellor Santishree Pandit will inquire into the allegations against Das after which Sahoo called it all a misunderstanding and Sanyal was reinstated.
Pandit's committee, which comprised two more members from SPPU, conducted an inquiry and gave a clean chit to the recruitment process taken up by Das.
She said, "We had two online meetings and one in-person meeting at GIPE. We looked at all the documents and found that no rules of UGC or the state govt were flouted during the appointments made during Das's tenure. Sahoo withdrew his complaint against Das. A public notice was issued requesting submission of any evidence related to the complaint before the committee.
However, Sahoo did not present or submit any documents before the committee.
None of the allegations could stand scrutiny, and the process documents proved beyond doubt that all rules and regulations were followed."
Pandit added that there was another complaint from a faculty member at GIPE alleging irregularities in the appointments. "We admitted the complaint and went through its allegations. We also gave the professor a fair hearing.
However, since no rules were flouted, we gave a clean chit to Das and submitted the report to the chancellor a month and a half ago," she said.
Sahoo said that he had not withdrawn the complaint, and was not called to give evidence. "I have not even been given a copy of the report nor was my side heard," he added.
The SIS president said an advisory body was created to bridge the souring relationship between GIPE and SIS and keep communication channels open.
However, Gaikwad said there is no provision for such a committee in SIS's byelaws.
New VC Soon
Both Gaikwad and Sahoo confirmed that the selection process for a new vice-chancellor for Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics has been completed and the institute will soon have a new head.
Sahoo said, "I am very hopeful that under able leadership and guidance, our new VC will shoulder the responsibility of GIPE and render his best services for all-round development of the institute and re-establish a cordial relationship between SIS and GIPE."

Report: Public Sector Banks increase market share amid slower credit growth in FY25; regain lending dominance
This is an AI-generated image, used for representational purposes only. Public Sector Banks (PSBs) gained significant market share across lending segments and geographies in FY25 despite overall moderation in bank credit growth, a report by Union Bank of India has revealed. The shift was especially evident in working capital and demand loans, traditionally used by businesses for operational needs, as per news agency ANI. ' Credit growth slowed in FY25 yet PSBs gained market share vis-à-vis PVBs (Private Banks),' the report noted, adding that public sector lenders leveraged their balance sheets more effectively and cautiously, especially as private lenders saw reduced momentum. The Credit-Deposit (CD) ratio of private banks, though elevated due to an earlier credit push, sharply corrected in FY25, indicating a deceleration in fresh disbursements. In contrast, PSBs capitalised on regulatory tightening in the unsecured lending space, particularly targeting retail credit like housing loans, where they emerged as incremental leaders. The report also pointed out a shift in the sectoral distribution of credit. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Private banks, once dominant in retail disbursements, lost ground due to tighter regulations, allowing PSBs to step in. Remarkably, state-owned banks also posted stronger growth in industrial credit, a segment previously dominated by private lenders. On the geographic front, PSBs saw strong performance in rural and semi-urban areas. Over 60 per cent of incremental credit in semi-urban regions and a significant share in rural belts were secured by public banks. Even in urban and metro areas, where private banks traditionally dominated, PSBs reclaimed some ground lost in FY24. In terms of borrower segmentation, credit to individuals continued its upward trajectory, signalling robust retail banking strength, the report said. The report aligns with broader findings released earlier this month by Boston Consulting Group, which noted that the BFSI sector was undergoing a period of moderate credit growth and profitability pressure. The sector's Net Interest Margins are under pressure amid repo rate cuts and elevated CD ratios, which have intensified the race for low-cost deposits. Despite this, PSU banks posted a 26 per cent year-on-year growth in profit after tax (PAT), outperforming private banks' 8 per cent growth. Deposit growth remained healthy at 11 per cent year-on-year, reaching Rs 229.3 lakh crore, although CASA growth stayed muted. The overall banking sector reported a 12 per cent rise in total net advances and a 13 per cent increase in aggregate credit in FY25, signalling that PSBs' tactical shift and rural resurgence helped them outperform amid macroeconomic headwinds. From Bella Thorne to Iggy Azalea: Earnings of top OnlyFans creators revealed
OnlyFans creators earnings: OnlyFans has become one of the most talked-about content platforms in recent years, offering creators a way to earn money directly from their fans. A recent study by OnlyGuider analysed the spending behaviour of over 1 million OnlyFans subscribers and nearly 59 million transactions, revealing some surprising insights into how much top OnlyFans creators really earn—and how little most others make. Shocking Stats: Most OnlyFans Subscribers Don't Pay Despite the huge buzz around OnlyFans, the majority of users don't spend a penny. The study found that only 4.2% of subscribers actually pay for content, meaning a staggering 95.8% use the platform for free. This directly affects the average earnings of OnlyFans creators. On average, creators earn just $2.06 per subscriber. This highlights how difficult it can be for new or less popular models to make decent money on the platform. How Much Do Paying Subscribers Actually Spend? Among paying male users, the average spend is about $48.52 per creator. This shows that while a small percentage of subscribers spend money, those who do are often generous—especially the so-called 'whales'. 'Whales' make up just 0.01% of subscribers but are responsible for over 20% of all revenue on the platform. These big spenders are crucial for the OnlyFans earnings of top performers. Top Creators Take Home Most of the Money The income gap on OnlyFans is massive. The top 0.1% of OnlyFans creators earn 76% of the total revenue on the platform. On average, these elite creators bring in around $146,881 (₹1.3 crore) every month. The next tier, which includes the top 1% of creators, makes far less—about $33,984 (Rs 29 lakh) per month. Those ranked between the top 1% and 5% earn roughly $8,208 (Rs 7 lakh) monthly. Beyond the top 5%, earnings drop drastically, with many creators making just $24 a month—barely enough to cover even basic marketing costs. Chat Messages Drive Most Earnings on OnlyFans One of the most interesting takeaways from the study is the role of chat messages in boosting OnlyFans earnings. Chats bring in nearly 70% of a creator's income, making them more profitable than standard subscriptions. By comparison, subscriptions make up only 4.11% of total earnings, showing that direct interaction with fans is key to making big money on the platform. Also, 83% of payments happen in the first 48 hours, while weekends account for 30% of revenue. But only 17% of users actually start conversations with creators. Subscriber Ratings Influence Earnings The research also found that creators with higher subscriber ratings tend to earn more. Since gaining paying subscribers is tough, it's vital for OnlyFans creators to keep their subscriber acquisition cost below $2 to make a profit. Big Stars Making Millions on OnlyFans Despite challenges for newcomers, OnlyFans remains a goldmine for some of the biggest names on the platform. These top OnlyFans creators have built powerful personal brands and found unique ways to stand out. 1. Sophie Rain – $43 Million a Year Former waitress Sophie Rain is currently leading the earnings chart with $43 million per year. Known for her 'virgin' image and religious-themed branding, she's created a niche that attracts a loyal fanbase. 2. Bella Thorne – $37.3 Million a Year Actress Bella Thorne continues to cash in on her fame, earning $37.3 million annually. Her income comes from VIP content, private photo shoots, and special subscriber packages. 3. Iggy Azalea – $36 Million a Year Rapper Iggy Azalea earns around $36 million every year by offering premium content, personal interactions, and high-quality photos. Her stylish content helps her stand out in the crowded platform. 4. Bhad Bhabie – $34 Million a Year Despite being less active, rapper Bhad Bhabie pulls in $34 million annually from OnlyFans, thanks to her early success and existing fanbase. 5. Belle Delphine – $34 Million a Year Internet sensation and adult content creator Belle Delphine earns around $34 million a year. She's known for releasing limited and rare content, which creates hype and keeps her audience engaged. OnlyFans in 2025: Still Booming The numbers make it clear—OnlyFans is still a booming platform in 2025. While it's often linked to adult content, creators from various backgrounds, including music, film, and modelling, are using the platform to connect directly with fans and earn a fortune. But the platform is highly competitive, and success requires more than just content—it takes smart branding, regular engagement, and unique strategies to stand out. While a small group of top OnlyFans creators rake in millions, the majority earn very little. Success on OnlyFans demands consistency, creativity, and the ability to market oneself effectively. Whether you're a newcomer or an established star, the platform offers big opportunities—but only if you know how to work it right.
