3 Doors Down Frontman Brad Arnold Diagnosed With Stage 4 Kidney Cancer

Epoch Times10-05-2025

Brad Arnold, the lead singer of the Grammy-nominated rock band 3 Doors Down, has asked his fans for prayers after revealing that he was diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma, a type of kidney cancer.
Arnold, 46, shared the news in an Instagram
'Got some not-so-good news for you today,' he wrote. 'So I've been sick a couple of weeks ago and then went to the hospital and got checked out and had actually got the diagnosis that I had a clear cell renal [cell] carcinoma that had metastasized into my lung. And it's stage 4, and that's not real good.'
The singer was supported by many of his fellow musicians in the comment section.
'I hate to hear that,' wrote country star Jason Aldean. 'Praying for ya brother.'
'If anyone has the faith and strength to face this fight, it's you brother,' added Creed frontman Scott Stapp.

According to the National Cancer Institute, clear cell renal cell carcinoma, also known as ccRCC, is the most common form of kidney cancer, accounting for about 80 percent of all cases.
The Cleveland Clinic reports that ccRCC is more prevalent in men than women and is typically diagnosed between the ages of 50 and 70.
Symptoms may include bloody urine, fatigue, fever, weight loss, or a lump in the abdomen. In addition to undergoing surgery to remove the mass, treatment usually entails immunotherapy to ward off cancer cells or targeted therapy to stop them from growing.
Arnold said he is maintaining a positive outlook despite his diagnosis, sharing that his band's 2008 single 'It's Not My Time' has become his personal anthem.
'We serve a mighty God and He can overcome anything, so I have no fear,' the singer said. 'I really sincerely am not scared of it at all. But it is gonna force us to cancel our tour this summer, and we're sorry for that, and I'd love for you to lift me up in prayer every chance you get.'
The Mississippi native founded 3 Doors Down in 1996 with childhood friends Matt Roberts and Todd Harrell, releasing the debut album 'The Better Life' in 2000.
Harrell left the band in 2013 after being arrested for vehicular manslaughter. He was later sentenced to two years in prison. Roberts died in 2016 at the age of 38 from a prescription drug overdose.

Are Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter Collaborating? These Fan Theories Think So

If Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter's music tops your Spotify Wrapped at the end of each year, you're probably hoping for the day the singer-songwriters jump on a song together. The Tortured Poets Department artist has previously dropped music with Gracie Abrams, another Eras Tour opener who works with one of Tay's go-to producers, Aaron Dessner. On top of being good friends and past tourmates, Taylor and Sabrina have also found a frequent collaborator in Jack Antonoff. That being said, the concept isn't entirely far-fetched. While neither of the Grammy winners has explicitly hinted or confirmed anything, Swifties and Carpenters have already started sharing their guesses across social media. Could a Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter collaboration finally be on the way? These fan theories make quite the case... Taybrina truthers, rise! A lot of fans pointed out similarities in recent social posts from the stars, which could potentially point to a collab. We all know Tay loves her Easter eggs, and as Sabrina's star rises, she's started employing them, too... That's that me, separate, unrelated announcements from the pop stars. When Taylor revealed that she officially owns her entire music catalog on May 31, there were small coffee-stained details on a social post promoting her letter. Aaand when Sabrina announced her Short n' Sweet follow-up, Man's Best Friend, on June 11, her newsletter also included a coffee-stained ring: It could simply be a there's a slim chance that it's not. Dare we say it's giving 'five holes in the fence'? The same day Sabrina dropped the news about her upcoming album, Taylor Nation shared that Tay released a new merch collection inspired by her catalog. Eagle-eyed fans pointed out that both stars have new logos on their websites—Sabrina for her new era, and Taylor for her merch drop. However, another Swiftie shared that Taylor has been using the cursive 'S' in design elements since 2023. It may be June, but Taylor's official fan account used her song 'August' in the above announcement. Some fans figured it could point to a collaboration with Sabrina, as the 'Manchild' singer shared that Man's Best Friend is set to drop on August 29. Neither Taylor nor Sabrina has weighed in on whether they're collaborating yet, but we'll be waiting here and holding out for a joint effort from the blondies.

Rod Stewart Reveals The 1 Reason His Trump Friendship Is Done: 'I Can't Anymore'

Grammy-winning singer Rod Stewart says he can't be friends with President Donald Trump anymore, citing his administration's ongoing support for the brutal Israeli military campaign in Gaza that has killed more than 55,000 Palestinians since October 2023 according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Stewart recently sat down for an interview with Radio Times to promote his upcoming set at the Glastonbury Festival, only to tear into Trump, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu — after being asked if he still considers Trump a friend. 'No, I can't any more,' Stewart told the outlet. 'As long as he's selling arms to the Israelis — and he still is. How's that war ever gonna stop? And we should stop selling them as well. What did Starmer say yesterday? They dropped the talks on trade?' 'What fucking difference is that gonna make?' the singer continued. 'Someone's gotta do something. What Netanyahu is doing to the Palestinians is exactly what happened to the Jews. It's annihilation, and that's all he wants to do — get rid of them all.' 'I don't know how they sleep at night,' Stewart added. This isn't the first time Stewart has criticized Trump. The rock icon reportedly said ahead of the 2016 election that he didn't think Trump was 'presidential,' called him a 'prick' in 2020 for pulling out of the Paris Climate Accords and ridiculed him onstage last year. 'I used to go to his Christmas parties,' Stewart told Radio Times. 'He's always been a bit of a man's man. I liked him for that. But he didn't, as far as I'm concerned, treat women very well. But since he became president, he became another guy.' 'Somebody I didn't know,' he reflected. The singer mocked Trump last year during a Las Vegas concert ahead of the 2024 election for 'turning orange,' as Trump made the racist claim that then-Democratic nominee, former Vice President Kamala Harris, 'happened to turn Black' before announcing her run. Stewart is a model railway enthusiast at home, but also politically active in his spare time. In 2017, he covered all necessary expenses for a group of children with disabilities — whose parents couldn't raise enough money to travel to Washington, D.C. — to protest a GOP health care bill that included proposed cuts to Medicaid. 'I'm neither a Democrat nor a Republican, but I am a father,' he said at the time.
