Sabrina Carpenter slams criticism of her raunchy new album cover featuring the star in a shocking pose
Sabrina Carpenter divided audiences with the new controversial cover for her upcoming seventh studio album Man's Best Friend - dropping August 29 - which features her provocatively kneeling beside a suited man with a fistful of her hair.
So when X user @esotericsoul777 asked 'Does she have a personality outside of sex?' the 26-year-old pop star replied on Monday: 'Girl yes and it is goooooood.'
Sabrina has also received criticism for the simulated sex positions she demonstrates onstage while performing her song Juno during her Short n' Sweet Tour.
'It's always so funny to me when people complain,' Carpenter told Rolling Stone last Thursday.
'They're like, "All she does is sing about this." But those are the songs that you've made popular. Clearly you love sex. You're obsessed with it. It's in my show.'
The two-time Grammy winner continued: 'There's so many more moments than the Juno positions, but those are the ones you post every night and comment on. I can't control that. If you come to the show, you'll [also] hear the ballads, you'll hear the more introspective numbers'
'I find irony and humor in all of that, because it seems to be a recurring theme. I'm not upset about it, other than I feel mad pressure to be funny sometimes,' Sabrina noted.
On Monday, Carpenter celebrated her new single Manchild debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
'I love ya @jackantonoff @amyallen!' the Versace brand ambassador - who boasts 105.3M social media followers - thanked her co-producers.
'I can't tell you how much this means to me! This song makes me so happy. Thank you eternally for listening.'
Sabrina's previous single Please Please Please also reached the No. 1 spot, while her single Taste peaked at No. 2 and Espresso peaked at No. 3.
Carpenter is next scheduled to resume her $33.2M-grossing, 72-date Short n' Sweet Tour on July 5-6 at Hyde Park in London.
Carpenter told Rolling Stone last Thursday: 'It's always so funny to me when people complain. They're like, "All she does is sing about this." But those are the songs that you've made popular. Clearly you love sex. You're obsessed with it. It's in my show' (pictured in November)

The Pennsylvania-born blonde bombshell has been a singer for the last decade, but her career got a major boost in 2023 while serving opening duties for Taylor Swift.
Sabrina - who gets 68.7M monthly listeners on Spotify - originally taught herself how to play piano and guitar with YouTube tutorials.
Carpenter had a nepo-baby leg up in the industry thanks to her famous aunt Nancy Cartwright, who has been the voice of 10-year-old troublemaker Bart Simpson since 1987 on The Tracey Ullman Show followed by Fox's long-running animated sitcom The Simpsons.
