Pavel Durov said in a new sinterview he will divide his estate among at least 106 children upon his death
The Telegram co-founder is "the official father" to six children, conceived naturally with three different women, as well as over 100 children conceived via sperm donation, he said
Durov has faced controversy for his work with Telegram, including accusations by French authorities that criminal activity thrives on the popular messaging appA controversial co-founder of the messaging platform Telegram says he is dividing his fortune between his children — and he says he has at least 106 of them.
Pavel Durov, 40, told the French outlet Le Point in an interview about his decision to allocate his fortune. He's worth about $17.1 billion, per Forbes.
Father to six children via natural conception, Durov said he has also been a sperm donor for 100-plus kids in 12 countries.
The billionaire first became a sperm donor to "help a friend," he said, but otherwise it was anonymous.

"I want to specify that I make no difference between my children: There are those who were conceived naturally and those who come from my sperm donations," he said. "They are all my children and will all have the same rights!"
Durov said that his children will not have access to their inheritances, after his death, until 30 years from the day he gave the interview to Le Point, or June 19, 2055.
"I want them to live like normal people, to build themselves up alone, to learn to trust themselves, to be able to create, not to be dependent on a bank account," he said.
Durov decided to allocate his estate now because his "work involves risks," he said — an apparent reference to the legal issues he has faced over Telegram.
The messaging app, founded in 2013, is popular for its privacy and encryption options. But that has also created problems with law enforcement.
French authorities charged Pavel in August 2024 and accused him of allegedly being complicit in running a platform in which illegal activity — such as child sex abuse material, drug trade and fraud — could thrive, according to The New York Times and NBC News.
The status of that case is not clear, but Durov told Le Point: "Defending freedoms earns you many enemies, including within powerful states."
Telegram has also said it uses various content moderation techniques to weed out illicit behavior, NBC News reported.

The European Union said it plans to exclude Chinese companies from the bloc's government purchases of medical devices after concluding that EU manufacturers don't have equal access in China, widening trade tensions between Brussels and Beijing. The European Commission, the EU's executive arm, said Friday that the measure will apply to purchases exceeding 5 million euros ($5.7 million). The decision follows the conclusions of the first investigation under the International Procurement Instrument, or IPI.

FC Barcelona Dream Still Chased By Premier League Ace Despite Williams

A Premier League star is still determined to fulfil his dream and play for FC Barcelona despite its increased interest in Nico Williams according to Mundo Deportivo, which cited anonymous sources. After Barca paid the former Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia's €25 million release clause, and announced his capture on Wednesday, Barca has moved on to trying to land the Euro 2024 winner Williams, who is also a close friend of Lamine Yamal. Doing so will require the triggering of another release clause, though this one is a lot more expensive at €58 million and won't be as straightforward for a club still recovering from a financial crisis that pushed it to the brink of oblivion earlier this decade to raise. In the meantime, while Nico has reportedly agreed to join Barca, Marcus Rashford is still pushing for transfer from Manchester United to Catalonia according to Mundo Deportivo. Before interest was sparked in Williams again, he was believed to be Barca's top target for the left wing alongside Luis Diaz. With Rashford rated at around €40 million, he would be the cheapest of these forwards while Diaz is the most expensive at something close to €85 million. Rashford and his corner don't believe that signing Williams will be an obstacle that puts the kibosh on the England international's Camp Nou dream. His input on the pitch isn't only limited to the left wing, as, unlike Williams, he can play all three positions across the front line while providing a good alternative to the aging Robert Lewandowski. The Pole is entering the last year of his contract signed when joining from Bayern Munich in the 'economic levers' summer of 2022, and Barca as of yet has no natural heir for him other than winger Ferran Torres or Dani Olmo playing as a false 9. The newspaper also writes that Rashford is willing to lower his salary demands, while United would want a reduced fee of €30 million. Even at a cut fee for Rashford, FC Barcelona might struggle to afford both him and Williams. Across those two potential deals, we're talking about more than $100 million in cash, which is still a push for Barca despite its improved financial health under President Joan Laporta.
