Our Favorite TV of 2025 Just Hit a Record Low Price Right in Time for the Super Bowl

Yahoo30-01-2025

The Super Bowl is now just over a week away. If you've been looking to upgrade your TV for the big game, then now's the time. The TCL QM851 is an updated version of the basic QM8 -- our favorite TV of the year.
Right now you can snag the the 65-inch model at an all-time low price. Multiple retailers have knocked this QLED TV down to just $898, which is a whopping $600 off the usual price. And if you want a bigger or smaller screen, don't fret, those are on sale, too. With the Super Bowl about a week away, here's no telling how long this deal will be available. We'd recommend getting your order in sooner rather than later, especially if you want it in time for the big game.
We saw some excellent numbers in our TCL QM8 review, and although we haven't reviewed the QM851 yet, we expect similar things. In that review, we felt the QM8 was great for people who didn't want an OLED, as the mini-LED didn't have any burn-in issues. We tested the 65-inch version of the QM8, which featured excellent image quality and brightness.
Though it comes from value brand TCL, the QM851 doesn't scrimp on features. It comes packed with all the things you'd want from a midrange offering. That includes a true 120Hz refresh rate with HDMI 2.1, which means you can hook up an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 and get the full experience, along with VRR, or variable refresh rate.
Other advanced features include AI optimization, Dolby Atmos audio support, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, Chromecast built-in and a dedicated gaming mode. It also has an IMAX Enhanced Certification, which means it meets specific requirements for resolution, contrast, brightness, color and sound, providing a truly immersive viewing experience at home.
Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money.
If this TCL isn't quite what you're looking for, you can check out our full roundup of all best TV deals available now for even more bargains. And be sure to take a look at the best cheap TV deals if you're on a tight budget.
TCL's QM8 series tops our list of the overall best TVs on the market right now, which means they're already an excellent value at full price. And this Amazon deal drops the updated 65-inch model back down to the lowest price we've ever seen. It's currently on sale for just $898, which is $100 lower than the price we saw during Black Friday, making this a pretty serious (and rare) bargain. And since the Super Bowl is coming up, what better way to watch the game than with a new, high-quality, discounted TV.

Tom Brady Captures Another Title, Wins Inaugural Fanatics Games and $1M Prize

Tom Brady is a champion once again. The seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback won the inaugural Fanatics Games at this weekend's Fanatics Fest in New York, earning him a $1 million prize. The all-time great was among 100 celebrities, athletes and fans to compete in the Fantatics Games, which consisted of eight competitions. The eight competitions consisted of activities from different sports, such as quarterback skills, basketball shooting, soccer goal-scoring and baseball pitching accuracy, among other competitions. One of the other competitions was a WWE Superstar entrance. In his WWE Superstar entrance, Brady spat on New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner jersey and ripped former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning's jersey. Manning later interrupted his entrance, jumping on top of him. That entrance helped Brady earn 399.1 total points in the Fanatics Games. Manning was also one of the athletes who participated, finishing in fifth with 314.5 total points as Brady was able to get some revenge over the quarterback who defeated him in two Super Bowls. Brady, a FOX Sports employee, collected his $1 million prize at the Javits Center on Sunday. However, he awarded $5,000 to each of the 50 fans who participated in the Fanatics Games, while the rest of that money will go to charity. Brady's participation in the Fanatics Games was just one of the few viral moments he had from Fanatics Fest over the weekend. On Friday, he struggled to pick out the real Rob Gronkowski in a group of 20 people dressed like his former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammate. On Saturday, Brady joined LeBron James, Victor Wembanyama, streamer Kai Cenat and Maverick Carter for a live taping of "The Shop." "He's always done things the right way. He's always risen above all the noise and BS and continued to deliver," Brady said of James as he sat next to the Los Angeles Lakers star. "So you're witnessing the greatest ever, and I hope you guys will appreciate that." As for the other participants in the Fanatics Games, UFC fighter Justin Gaethje finished in second with 345.5 points. He won a a Ferrari 812 GTS for his performance. Matt Dennish, a 39-year-old teacher from Pennsylvania, finished with 326 points to place third in the competition. He outscored athletes such as James Harden, Tyreek Hill, Dwight Howard, Gronkowski, Michael Chandler and Micah Parsons, who all finished in the top 20 of the athletes who competed in the event. Harden dressed as Hulk Hogan for his WWE entrance. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was also among the athletes who participated, struggling in the pitching accuracy competition. He finished 36th in the competition. Jacksonville Jaguars two-way star Travis Hunter had the worst showing among the athletes who competed at the event, while new Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant finished with the second-worst mark. Durant actually learned of his trade to the Rockets while he was speaking at an event during Fanatics Fest on Sunday. Want great stories delivered right to your inbox? Buccaneers GM Reveals Comparison Between Tom Brady, Baker Mayfield

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Over the last couple of the years, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have found their new franchise quarterback. Baker Mayfield has taken over since signing with the Buccaneers and has not looked back. In each of the last two years, he has led Tampa Bay to the playoffs. He has done so while putting up major individual production, finally living up to the billing of being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. With Mayfield leading the way, the Buccaneers will be a team to watch once again in the 2025 NFL season. At this point, the NFC South is still wide open and Tampa Bay seems to be the team to beat once again. Photo byAfter Tom Brady retired, the Buccaneers turned to Mayfield. While no one would compare the two players from a success perspective, general manager Jason Licht did speak out with a comparison between the two quarterbacks. Read more: Vikings' JJ McCarthy Just Got a Head-Turning 2025 Prediction During a conversation with Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Licht revealed how Mayfield's decision to sign with the team was similar to Brady's. "Some of the same ways that Tom [Brady] chose us, Baker chose us too, because he knew that Tom chose us because it was the best place for him to win a Super Bowl, Baker chose us because it's the best place for him to revive his career," Licht said. "There wasn't agendas, and he was going to be able to just play football and try to win. So that was big for him, and he's obviously helped, big part in winning, but those players love playing with him, especially receivers. Who knows if Mike [Evans] would have chose to come here, who knows if Chris [Godwin] would have signed back, they love that guy. It's because they want somebody that's going to help them on the field too. So I hope Baker's here a long time." Last season, Mayfield played in all 17 games for the Buccaneers. He completed 71.4 percent of his pass attempts for 4,500 yards, 41 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. Mayfield also ran for 378 yards and three more scores. Back in 2023 in his first season in Tampa Bay, he threw for 4,044 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while completing 64.3 percent of his passes. Needless to say, the marriage between Mayfield and the Buccaneers has gone well. Mayfield leading the Buccaneers to a championship would equal the championship Brady brought to town. Only time will tell, but the team has a new star quarterback leading the way and Mayfield deserves a lot of recognition and praise for what he's done through two years with Tampa Bay. Travis and Jason Kelce Earn Major Congratulations For All-Time Announcement

Travis and Jason Kelce Earn Major Congratulations For All-Time Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is going to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. ... but he won't be a first-Kelce in Canton. Advertisement Kelce's older brother Jason retired a year ago at age 36 after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and has moved into a high-profile media role ... a spotlight that Travis, 35, knows something about as the boyfriend of pop star Taylor Swift. Someday - maybe after this season - Travis will retire. For now? "It really wasn't that hard of a decision for me," he said of continuing chasing a Chiefs championship in 2025. "I still felt like I had that fire in my chest to be able to keep coming in and building and be better and chase another Super Bowl." But whenever he's done? There is a five-year wait from retirement to Canton eligibility. Jason was a six-time First-Team All-Pro; he's a sure bet to get in ... and then Travis will follow him. Advertisement More evidence of their greatness? ESPN has assembled its NFL's All Quarter Century Team. ... and while it is quite subjective (it's essentially the work of two Bristol staffers) ... it's still powerful stuff for the Kelce family. Why? Because both the Chiefs star and the Eagles legend made the 53-man roster. ... earning them congratulations all around. On Travis, ESPN's Seth Walder wrote, "Kelce is simply the best pure receiving tight end in this quarter century.'' And on Jason: "Kelce's six first-team All-Pro selections are by far the most of any center -- no other player has had more than two since 2000. Kelce helped lead the Eagles to two Super Bowl appearances and revolutionized third- and fourth-and-1s leaguewide with his critical role in the (still permitted!) tush push play."
