TNG Digital launches Business Account to help even the smallest businesses grow with ease

TNG Digital Sdn Bhd has launched the TNG Digital Business Account which is designed to support micro-SMEs and gig workers with a zero-barrier solution to digitalise their operations, manage income, and grow their businesses securely, all from a mobile device.
The launch was officiated by Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Fuziah Salleh alongside TNG Digital CEO Alan Ni.
This initiative marks a significant step forward in making digital financial tools more accessible to Malaysia's underserved and informal business communities.
TNG Digital Business Account is a fully digital e-Wallet account issued by TNG Digital, an approved e-money issuer regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia.
It requires no fees, no paperwork, and no minimum balance, designed for all types of small businesses including SMEs, microSMEs (MSMEs), hawkers, informal merchants, and gig workers, who are often excluded from traditional financial services.
'TNG Digital Business Account was built to address a clear gap. Although micro and small businesses contribute nearly 40% of GDP and support almost half of the nation's workforce, many still lack access to tools that help them scale and operate efficiently in a digital economy.
'This solution enables them to accept payment, manage transactions and grow their businesses efficiently through their mobile phones.
'For a long time, many micro and small businesses have had to make do without the right tools to manage their finances efficiently.
'With the TNG Digital Business Account, we're changing that by removing the barriers and allowing SMEs to open an account instantly, receive funds in real time, and make transfers seamlessly across banks and e-Wallets, all within a secure and inclusive ecosystem, at zero cost. It's about making everyday business simpler so they can focus on growing.'
Meanwhile, Fuziah noted that the launch of the Business Account by TNG Digital is a new product that will add value to the MSME community in the country.
'What we are witnessing is an important step towards creating a more accessible system, especially for those who have previously been left out of the benefits of digital services,' she remarked.
'Initiatives like this are not just about technology, but also about ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate in and benefit from the growth of the new economy.'
In addition to enabling payments, the Business Account gives merchants access to business growth tools.
With over 23 million verified users on the TNG e-Wallet platform, merchants can boost visibility through features like Near Me, and drive customer engagement using GOyangGOyang cashback and voucher campaigns.
The account also includes built-in safety features such as a dedicated PIN, kill switch, and 24/7 fraud protection.
Looking ahead, TNG Digital plans to expand the offering into a broader ecosystem that includes micro-lending, savings, and protection services tailored for micro and small businesses.
The TNG Digital Business Account reflects the company's broader mission to make business easy, so every dream, no matter how small, has the chance to grow.

Fuziah: Gas tank ops to collect data, not to penalise

JOHOR BARU: No enforcement action will be taken under Ops Gasak against micro businesses such as self-service laundromats and small eateries until the end of the operation, says the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry. This follows confusion and concern among traders who rely on subsidised liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in their operations. Deputy Minister Fuziah Salleh (pic) said the presence of enforcement officers at premises was solely to collect data and feedback, which will later be presented to the Cabinet as part of a review of the Supply Control Regulations (Amendment) 2021. 'I want to stress that no action will be taken against small food stalls, roadside traders or self-service laundromats until Ops Gasak concludes on Oct 31. 'When our enforcement team is on the ground, they are mainly there to gather data. Even stakeholder engagement sessions are part of our process to understand LPG usage and its implications for end users. 'The engagement session is valuable because it gives traders a chance to ask questions and raise concerns about licensing,' Fuziah said at a press conference after attending a meeting with Johor LPG industry stakeholders held at a hotel here yesterday. She said the reason Ops Gasak was enforced since May 1 was because subsidised LPG was being misused by some ineligible commercial sectors, particularly hotels. 'I personally visited hotel laundry areas where subsidised gas was used to wash towels and bedsheets. This is an example of leakage. 'We guarantee that enforcement will not be taken if subsidised LPG is used by micro traders until Oct 31. Once we complete the data collection, it will be tabled as recommendations for policy consideration,' Fuziah said. She added that the Cabinet had agreed to revisit the amendments to the Supply Control Regulations, but no final decision has been made. 'So again, I want to emphasise – no action will be taken against stalls, roadside traders or laundromats until Ops Gasak ends, and a clearer direction is determined,' she said. However, Fuziah reminded business owners that those storing more than three cylinders of subsidised LPG must still apply for a permit for safety reasons. Ops Gasak was launched on May 1 to tackle the misuse and diversion of subsidised LPG cylinders, especially involving medium- and large-scale industry players.

LPG crackdown focused on industry, micro-traders spared for now

JOHOR BAHRU: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living ministry (KPDN) has assured that the enforcement of 'Operasi Gas Memasak' (OPS GASAK) will not target micro-traders, including self-service laundromats and eateries, until Oct 31. Its deputy minister Dr Fuziah Salleh said this is because the operation to curb leakage in the use of subsidised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders is currently targeted at the industrial sector. 'If enforcement officers (under OPS GASAK) visit micro premises, it is primarily to collect information and data. 'We want to understand the exact usage patterns (of LPG) and so on, because services like laundromats and eateries have a direct impact on consumers,' she told a press conference after officiating an enforcement and advocacy programme on usage here today. Also present were Johor KPDN director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo and state chief enforcement officer Mohd Fuzi Hadi Abd Latif. Fuziah further urged micro traders to apply for a controlled goods permit if they use more than 42 kilogrammes (kg) of LPG at any one time, the equivalent of more than three 14kg gas cylinders, for safety reasons. 'For example, if an eatery has more than three gas cylinders, they need to apply for a permit because this concerns safety. This requirement remains in effect. 'However, under the 2021 amendment to the Control of Supplies Regulations, traders with permits must use non-subsidised LPG. This is something we are currently reviewing,' she added. She said the ministry is conducting stakeholder engagements with industry players, including micro traders, petroleum companies, trader associations, LPG wholesalers, restaurant operators and laundromat businesses, to explain the operation, as was done in Johor today. Previously, Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said OPS GASAK was launched on May 1 to address the leakage and abuse of subsidised LPG cylinders in the industrial and commercial sectors. Running until Oct 31, the operation is part of the ministry's latest enforcement initiative under the 'KITA GEMPUR' movement, launched on Oct 19.
