Golf fans can get a taste of Pittsburgh's favorite foods during the U.S. Open
Fans from all over the world are getting a taste of Pittsburgh favorites during the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club.
Those iconic foods are found in the Fan Central tent.
The spread features a Primanti's inspired Steel City hot dog, Mancini's pepperoni rolls, Eat'n Park's famous Smiley cookies and an Oakmont shaved kielbasa sandwich (of course made on Mancini's bread).

'It's super cool and I know it's bringing a lot of revenue to Pittsburgh," one fan said about the nod to local favorites.
And for Mancini's, they're presence will be noticed throughout the course. They're providing thousands of buns and rolls for concessions.

Arkansas SS Wehiwa Aloy wins Golden Spikes Award as top amateur player in the nation
CARY, N.C. (AP) — Arkansas shortstop Wehiwa Aloy won the Golden Spikes Award as the top amateur baseball player in the nation, USA Baseball announced Saturday. Aloy is the third Arkansas player to take home the prize, joining Andrew Benintendi in 2015 and Kevin Kopps in 2021, and the 12th winner from the Southeastern Conference — most of any league. Advertisement Aloy, the SEC player of the year, started all 65 games this season and led the Razorbacks in almost every major offensive cateogy, including slugging percentage (.673), OPS (1.107), hits (93), doubles (19) and home runs (21). He was second on the team with a .350 batting average and 68 RBIs. He made just five errors in 229 total chances (.978) and helped turn 31 double plays. Aloy was named an All-American by four major publications and finished the season with a run to the College World Series semifinals. He batted .324 with eight runs, 10 RBIs and five extra-base hits in nine NCAA Tournament games. Of the 46 previous Golden Spikes winners, six have earned Rookie of the Year honors in the major leagues, three have won the Cy Young Award, three were selected league MVP and 11 have won at least one World Series championship as a player or manager. Twenty-three previous winners have also been named to at least one All-Star Game roster as a player or manager. The Oklahoma Sooners have made an effort to improve their kicking game through the 2026 recruiting class, going all-in on kicker Trace Rudd from Overland Park, Kansas. The Sooners hosted Rudd for an official visit during the ChampU BBQ and their efforts have paid dividends. Rudd announced his commitment on Saturday to the Oklahoma Sooners. He said, "Sooner Nation, I am home and 100% committed. Unforgettable moment for me." He went on to thank Brent Venables, special teams coach Doug Deakin, and general manager Jim Nagy saying, "thank you... for believing in me and giving me this opportunity." Advertisement He's considered a five-star kicker by Kohl's Kicking and is the No. 27 place kicker in the 2026 recruiting class. He has quick hips and creates explosive power on his contact. Braves' Chris Sale goes on 15-day IL with fractured rib cage suffered on diving catch
Chris Sale made an excellent diving stop on a grounder by Juan Soto for the first out of the ninth inning to finish off his start against the New York Mets on Wednesday night. Yet going hard to the ground cost the veteran left-hander a trip to the injured list. The Atlanta Braves announced Saturday that Sale is going to the 15-day IL with a fractured ribcage. The injury occurred as Sale pitched his best game of the season, with 8 2/3 scoreless innings, five hits, one walk allowed and seven strikeouts. Advertisement Sale actually stayed in the game after the play to strike out Pete Alonso on four pitches before leaving the game after allowing a bloop single to Brandon Nimmo. He threw 116 pitches overall, 85 for strikes. The reigning National League Cy Young Award winner has a 2.52 ERA (third among NL starting pitchers) and 5-4 record in 15 starts, compiling 114 strikeouts in 89 1/3 innings. With Wednesday's 5-0 win, the Braves (34-40) had victories in six of their past eight games, part of a stretch during which Atlanta won seven of 10. Perhaps more importantly for the NL East standings, it was the fifth straight loss in what's become a seven-game losing streak for the Mets that's knocked them out of first place (45-31) in the division. Advertisement Sale's IL stint is backdated to Thursday, which would make him eligible to return July 3. However, a rib injury could keep him out for a longer period. Sale suffered a stress fracture in his right rib cage before the 2022 season that sidelined him for more than three months.
