Fact check: Is True Beauty Season 2 confirmed? Inside the viral claims about Moon Ga Young and Cha Eun Woo's hit drama

Time of India09-06-2025

True Beauty Season 2: True Beauty remains one of the most beloved K-dramas even four years after its release. Starring Moon Ga Young, ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo, and Hwang In Youp, the show still holds a special place in the hearts of global fans. Recently, a new report has been going viral on social media, especially TikTok, claiming that True Beauty has officially been confirmed for Season 2. But is there any truth to it? Let's break it down.
What True Beauty is all about
The story follows Lim Ju Kyung (Moon Ga Young), a high school girl who has long struggled with insecurities about her appearance. After relentless bullying, she learns the power of makeup and reinvents herself at a new school, where she crosses paths with Lee Su Ho (Cha Eun Woo) and Han Seo Jun (Hwang In Yeop). The drama explores her journey through friendship, romance, and self-acceptance as she learns to embrace who she is, makeup or not.
True Beauty wasn't a huge hit in Korea, but a global fan favourite
Though the drama didn't pull record-breaking numbers in South Korea, it became a massive international success. Released during the peak of the pandemic, True Beauty gave viewers a lighthearted escape and quickly gained a cult following across the globe. Its webtoon origin, strong character arcs, and heartfelt storytelling struck a chord, especially with younger audiences.
TikTok sparked a wave of True Beauty Season 2 hype
The current True Beauty Season 2 buzz can be traced back to a viral TikTok posted by @kdrama_flex, which claimed that a second season had been confirmed. The video used scenes from Season 1 and repackaged them as a 'trailer,' even listing a fake release date of December. Despite getting hundreds of thousands of views, the video offered no real source or production updates.
Some reports say it's possible—but nothing's official
Over the years, scattered reports have suggested that production for a second season was in discussion. Some speculated it could follow the completed Webtoon storyline. But so far, no official announcement has been made by tvN, the production team, or any of the lead actors. No casting, scripts, or filming updates have surfaced either.

Since the end of the drama in 2021, none of the lead actors nor the network have hinted at revisiting the series. Moon Ga Young, Cha Eun Woo, and Hwang In Youp have moved on to other major projects, and there's been no buzz from industry insiders to suggest True Beauty Season 2 is in active development.
Fact-check verdict: Is True Beauty Season 2 on the cards?
Despite what's trending on TikTok, True Beauty Season 2 has not been confirmed. The rumours are based on fan edits and misleading videos. The only official continuation is an anime adaptation, which has no ties to the original K-drama cast.

Every BTS member's brand power ranked after military discharge; Jimin, Jungkook lead June K-pop reputation index

All seven members of BTS have returned home after serving 18 months in the military. With that, Jimin, Jungkook, RM, Jin, Taehyung, Suga, and J-Hope have made a collective comeback on June's brand reputation ranking, without even dropping any new music yet. The big return also sent HYBE's previously tanking stock soaring within days. The list was released by the Korean Business Research Institute, and the ranking is done for each K-pop idol individually based on their activity, consumer participation, media coverage, community buzz, and more. (Data collected between May 21 and June 21.) Just days before, KBRI released the group ranking list, where BTS got edged out by rising K-pop boy band SEVENTEEN, recently named Global K-pop Stars of the Year by an American outlet. This latest list dropped just hours after Suga wrapped his public service and officially rejoined the group. "Ah shit, here we go again": The story behind GTA's most famous quote

Source: Rockstar Games Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas released in 2004, and few one-liners have held up so well as CJ's exhausted, "Ah shit, here we go again." What started out as a quote in an opening cutscene soon grew to be a cultural touchstone, taking over memes, social media, and even celebrity endeavors. Let's break down why the generic phrase came to be the internet's boilerplate expression for dealing with yet another headache. Why "Ah shit, here we go again" is GTA's greatest meme line Right at the beginning of San Andreas, CJ returns to Los Santos, to be instantly dumped right back into gangland theatrics. After being hassled, he lets out a deep breath, "Ah shit, here we go again" and we're with him. That one line exactly sums dread and resignation. Even though the game came out in 2004, it wasn't until a 2015 YouTube upload by ZMOONCHILD that the meme began gaining traction online. Jump forward to April 2019: green-screened versions of CJ walking into any situation went viral. One tweet from @ChaoticGeekCG gained thousands of retweets, giving birth to infinite mashups, from Kratos falling into battles to humorous TikToks. Today, the meme runs through subreddits, Instagram reels, and TikTok in fashion, solidly established as pop culture shorthand for, "Brace yourself, trouble's here." How the meme entered mainstream culture and why it endures The appeal San Andreas retains today revolves around its quotable lines and raw yet humorous tone. "Ah shit, here we go again" encapsulates that daily fatigue everyone is familiar with: waking up on Monday, handling drama, or watching a clichéd TV cliche for the umpteenth time. The tone of the meme makes it ideal for innumerable settings and that's why celebrities and even musicians have jumped on the bandwagon through collaborations, remixes, and viral content. Even mainstream outlets such as the Daily Dot feature it as the definitive meme for frustration and burnout. Ah shit here we go again meme compilation From a gritty cutscene in 2004 to TikTok gold gone viral in 2025, CJ's timelessness line demonstrates the strength of simplicity. In fewer than five words, "Ah shit, here we go again" evokes universal sentiments of fear, boredom, and irony. It's not only a meme, it's a mood. And as long as life is going to throw curveballs, CJ's sigh of weariness will remain our anthem.
