World's best city to live in: US has ZERO city in Top 10 list, another country has 3

Time of India4 days ago

In a world where chaos feels increasingly close to home, the idea of a 'most liveable city' carries new weight. Whether it's healthcare, education, culture, or just the peace of being able to walk down the street without fear, where we live shapes how we live. The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has released its 2025
Global Liveability Index
, and the results are telling. Not a single U.S. city has cracked the Top 10, while countries like Australia and Switzerland have multiple entries, reaffirming the global shift in urban quality of life.
As per The Economist, at the top of the list is Copenhagen, Denmark's capital, which has dethroned Vienna after two years. Though Vienna was long considered untouchable, recent foiled terrorist attacks—including one at a Taylor Swift concert—lowered its stability score, allowing Copenhagen to edge ahead. Vienna now shares second place with Zurich, while Melbourne, Geneva, and Sydney follow closely. The Top 10 paints a clear picture: smaller, well-managed cities with high stability and efficient infrastructure are leading the way.
Here's the complete Top 10 list according to EIU:

6. Sydney, Australia

8. Auckland, New Zealand
9. Adelaide, Australia
10. Vancouver, Canada
What are the rankings based on?
The rankings are based on five key categories: healthcare, education, stability, culture and environment, and infrastructure. While healthcare and education scores remain relatively consistent, it is stability—impacted by geopolitical unrest, terrorism, and civil conflict—that has shifted the rankings for many cities. Notably, Copenhagen was one of only six cities to earn a perfect stability score this year. Australia has three cities, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, in the top 10 liveable cities in the world.
In Asia, cities in East Asia and Australasia continue to perform well, with half of the top 20 hailing from the region. However, South Asian cities remain far behind, grappling with pollution, overcrowding, and rising temperatures. In India and Pakistan, border tensions and instability further dented scores.

What's behind Alia Bhatt's toned body and magic waist? Her diet secrets and workout regime

On June 20, 2025, Alia Bhatt was photographed stepping out of her regular fitness class, effortlessly putting to rest ongoing speculation about a possible second pregnancy. Dressed in sleek black treggings paired with a matching sleeveless crop top that showed off her toned midriff, Alia exuded confidence and radiance. Her minimal makeup and softly tied half-bun hairstyle gave her a naturally glowing look. As she waved cheerfully to the photographers, her visibly toned waistline spoke volumes, leaving no room for further conjecture. Despite fans recently assuming she was expecting again—especially after her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, where she was seen gently touching her stomach—Alia's latest outing left no doubt: she's simply staying fit, not pregnant. While shedding postpartum weight can be challenging, Alia Bhatt revealed in several interviews how there's no shortcut to losing weight post-pregnancy and being slow yet steady is the key. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dukung Orang Terkasih Menghadapi Limfoma: Mulai Di Sini Limfoma Baca Undo A Thoughtful, Gradual Weight Loss Journey Following the birth of her daughter, Raha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt took a patient, science-based approach to regaining her strength and fitness. Rather than resorting to quick fixes or unsafe methods, Alia emphasized healing and balance. In a 2022 interview with Vogue India , she shared that she refused to jump into intense workouts or deprive her body post-childbirth. She gave herself the necessary time to recover, starting workouts only once cleared by her medical team. When Actress Dismissed 'Unnatural' Weight Loss Rumours In another Vogue interview in 2023, Alia had debunked several unfounded claims that she had resorted to unnatural methods to shed post-pregnancy weight. She confirmed she worked out six days a week, even during her pregnancy, staying active under expert guidance. Her regime included a mix of yoga, Pilates, and strength training—all focused on long-term well-being over immediate results. "Many folks are under the impression that individuals who work in the visual medium do unnatural things to their bodies to get back in shape post-delivery. That's why I felt like it was important to document parts of my fitness journey on Instagram. I didn't put any pressure on myself.." she said. Nutritional Strategy Backed by Science Alia's nutritionist, Dr. Siddhant Bhargava, provided further insight into her disciplined approach in a 2024 interview with Humans of Bombay. He shared that Alia had a clear vision—she wanted her weight management both during and after pregnancy to be scientifically sound yet manageable. The duo worked together to monitor her diet monthly, modifying her intake based on her baby's development and her own physical condition. This careful monitoring ensured that Alia stayed healthy throughout her motherhood journey, and when the time came to lose weight, her body responded efficiently without shock or strain. Dr. Bhargava highlighted that it wasn't an effortless journey, but Alia was well-prepared and committed. Her discipline and awareness helped her navigate postpartum health challenges with confidence and clarity. Current Career Moves and Upcoming Projects Alia Bhatt continues to juggle motherhood and her film career with grace. She was last seen in Jigra, an action-thriller directed by Vasan Bala. In the film, she portrayed a fierce sister determined to free her wrongly accused brother. Despite a promising premise, the movie received lukewarm reviews and wrapped up its box-office run with around Rs 55 crore. Looking ahead, Alia is set to star alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's highly anticipated epic Love & War. Additionally, she will take center stage in the female-led action film Alpha, showcasing yet another bold chapter in her career.

Brittany Mahomes fuels breast implant rumors with viral IG look amid Patrick Mahomes' offseason spotlight

Brittany Mahomes implants rumor (Image via Instagram) While Patrick Mahomes stays relatively low-key this offseason, Brittany's bold style choices have made her the Mahomes making waves online. Brittany has once again become the center of cosmetic surgery speculation after her striking appearance at a Las Vegas event. Her bold fashion choice—a fitted, one-strap dress with a chest cutout—showed off a visibly fuller figure. As social media lit up with comparisons, fans and critics questioned whether she may have had breast implants. While Brittany hasn't confirmed anything, the online chatter is louder than ever. Viral comparisons reignite debate over body transformation Photos comparing her 2022 Coachella look to her 2025 Las Vegas outfit began trending online. One user on X remarked, "Well, she's clearly had enhancements," fueling the plastic surgery buzz. Still, many came to her defense, attributing the changes to her recent pregnancy. The split in public opinion has only intensified since her latest post. Brittany, who gave birth six months ago to her third child with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has posted pumped breast milk photos on Instagram, hinting she is still breastfeeding. One user explained, "My boobs got gigantic when I nursed too. Also, if she is still nursing, she couldn't have had surgery." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Thị trường có dấu hiệu suy thoái không? Though playful, the post made clear she was aware of the ongoing speculation. Despite addressing it, discussion around her chest size has only grown, especially after her Sports Illustrated swimsuit debut in 2024. She has been open about having lip fillers in past Q&A sessions, acknowledging her cosmetic choices without hesitation. That honesty has led fans to speculate further about procedures she hasn't commented on. But nothing about breast augmentation has ever been confirmed or admitted. Summer Solstice 2025: Longest day of the year is today. What it means, rituals, its spiritual significance, and link to Stonehenge

The Northern Hemisphere will mark the summer solstice on Saturday, 21 June — the day with the longest duration of daylight in the year. The solstice signals the beginning of astronomical summer and is observed when the Sun reaches its highest point in the sky at noon. This moment occurs when the Earth's northern half tilts most directly toward the Sun, causing longer days and shorter nights. What is the summer solstice? The summer solstice is the point in the Earth's orbit when the Sun appears at its highest position in the sky for the Northern Hemisphere. It typically falls between 20 and 22 June each year. The word "solstice" comes from Latin — sol meaning Sun and sistere meaning to stand still — referring to the Sun's apparent pause before reversing direction in the sky. Summer Solstice meaning? The solstice date shifts slightly every year due to the way our calendar aligns with Earth's orbit. A calendar year is 365 days, but Earth takes approximately 365.25 days to complete one orbit around the Sun. The extra time accumulates, and a leap day is added every four years to keep the calendar in sync. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Idols - Handmade Brass Statues for Home & Gifting Luxeartisanship Buy Now Undo Summer Solstice spiritual meaning Celebration of light and renewal: The summer solstice is often seen as a symbol of light, vitality, and growth. Many traditions consider this the peak of the Sun's power — a time to honour nature's energy and the fullness of life. It is a moment to celebrate abundance and renewal. Inner transformation and reflection: Spiritually, the solstice also marks a turning point. As daylight begins to gradually shorten after this day, it reminds people of life's cycles — growth followed by release. Some use this time to pause, reflect, and set intentions, seeing it as an opportunity for inner clarity and spiritual alignment. Live Events Ancient rituals and connections: Across cultures, the solstice has inspired rituals, gatherings, and ceremonies. From sunrise meditations to bonfires, these practices often aim to connect people with the natural world, the changing seasons, and their own inner journey. Summer Solstice: Ancient Rituals and link to Stonehenge Cultures such as the Druids, Native Americans, and ancient Egyptians held ceremonies during the solstice. Stonehenge in England is aligned with the sunrise on the summer solstice. In ancient Egypt, the solstice was connected to the rising of the Nile and the goddess Isis. Inti Raymi, the Sun Festival of the Inca, celebrated the Sun god Inti during the solstice. Summer Solstice: When is sunset? Although the solstice is the longest day, it does not always have the earliest sunrise or latest sunset. The timing of sunrises and sunsets varies slightly due to Earth's elliptical orbit and axial tilt. Early sunrises tend to happen before the solstice, while the latest sunsets occur after. The summer solstice has long held cultural and scientific significance. For many, it represents a turning point in the calendar — the beginning of summer and a reminder of the relationship between Earth and the Sun. How does it affect daylight? During the solstice, the Northern Hemisphere receives more direct sunlight for longer hours. The amount of daylight varies depending on how far north a location is. Regions closer to the Arctic Circle may experience continuous daylight — a phenomenon known as the midnight Sun — while places nearer the equator see less variation. Is it the hottest day of the year? Although the summer solstice has the most daylight, it is not usually the hottest day. Peak summer temperatures tend to arrive later in the season, after the land and air have absorbed more heat. The hottest days typically occur in July or August in many parts of the Northern Hemisphere. What marks the start of summer? There are two ways to define the start of summer. Meteorologists use fixed dates, beginning summer on 1 June and ending on 31 August. Astronomically, however, summer starts with the solstice and ends with the autumnal equinox in late September. Why does the Earth have seasons? Seasons occur because Earth's axis is tilted by about 23.5 degrees. As Earth orbits the Sun, this tilt causes different parts of the planet to receive varying amounts of sunlight throughout the year. Without this tilt, there would be no significant seasonal changes.
