Bosiram Siram appointed as new chief of Arunachal Congress

New Delhi [India], June 19 (ANI): Congress appointed Bosiram Siram as the President of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee, replacing Nabam Tuki, with immediate effect.
According to a press note, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge appointed Bosiram Siram as the President of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee, with immediate effect.
'Hon'ble Congress President has appointed Shri Bosiram Siram as the President of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee, with immediate effect. The party appreciates the contributions of the outgoing PCC President Shri Nabam Tuki,' the press note by Congress read.
Bosiram Siram is a former Congress MLA from the Pasighat East Assembly Constituency.
According to another press note by Congress, the party has appointed Manish Chatrath as the In-Charge of the Party Headquarters with immediate effect. Gurdeep Singh Sappal will continue to serve as the In-Charge of Administration in general.

Sharing the development on X, Chatrath wrote, 'Humbled and grateful to the Congress leadership for entrusting me with the responsibility as In-Charge of AICC Headquarters. My heartfelt thanks to Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji, Shri @Kharge ji, Shri @RahulGandhi ji, Smt. @PriyankaGandhi ji and Shri @KCVenugopalMP ji for their faith in me. I shall try my best to discharge my duties to the best of my abilities.'
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge approved the proposal for the appointment of Abhay Sahu as the Chairman of the Kisan Congress, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee, with immediate effect.
Last month, on May 31, Congress chief Kharge approved the appointment of 11 additional AICC Observers for Madhya Pradesh under the party's ongoing Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan. (ANI)

Land dispute case: Telangana HC reserves order on A Revanth's plea to quash 2016 FIR; order reserved till July 18

HYDERABAD: Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya of the Telangana high court on Friday reserved orders to July 18 on a plea filed by former Congress MP and chief minister A Revanth Reddy seeking quashing of a 2016 FIR registered against him at the Gachibowli police station. The case was filed based on a complaint by N Peddi Raju, president of the Razole Constituency SC Cooperative Housing Society, alleging trespass and caste-based abuse during a land dispute in Gopanapalli, Rangareddy district. The matter is pending before a special court under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. According to the FIR, Peddi Raju claimed Revanth's brother Kondal Reddy and one E Laxmaiah forcibly entered around two acres of land claimed by the society, demolished a compound wall and other structures, and abused him in the name of caste-allegedly at Revanth's behest. The 2019 chargesheet noted that though Raju claimed purchase of land for the society, the sellers lacked clear title. Meanwhile, Kondal Reddy claimed to have purchased 31 acres in the same survey number in 2005, registered in his name. The chargesheet concluded that the accused trespassed into land in possession of the society and carried out the demolition. Counsel Nimma Narayana, appearing for Peddi Raju, argued: "Though the chargesheet was filed five years ago, charges have not been framed, and crucial provisions under the Atrocities Act were left out." He reiterated that Kondal Reddy used caste abuse, allegedly on Revanth's instructions. The judge reserved her orders and posted the case to July 18.

Trump again snubs spy chief Tulsi Gabbard's take on Iran's nuclear programme, says ‘she is wrong'

US President Donald Trump said that the director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, was 'wrong' when she earlier stated said that the US believed Iran wasn't building a nuclear weapon, whereas he suggested that it would be 'very hard to stop' Israel's strikes on Iran in order to work out a possible ceasefire. He bluntly said, 'She's wrong.' Trump echoed remarks made by Gabbard when speaking to reporters on Tuesday. 'I don't care what she said. I think they were very close to having it," he had said. While testifying to Congress in March that the US intelligence community continued to believe that Tehran was not building a nuclear weapon, Tulsi said, 'The (intelligence community) continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon.' She took to X on Friday and clarified, 'America has intelligence that Iran is at the point that it can produce a nuclear weapon within weeks to months, if they decide to finalize the assembly. President Trump has been clear that can't happen, and I agree.' She added her testimony was taken "out of context in a way to manufacture division'. Tulsi in March called Iran's enriched uranium stockpile as unprecedented for a state without such weapons and mentioned the government was monitoring the situation closely. She also specified that Iran had begun conversing about nuclear weapons in public, 'emboldening nuclear weapons advocates within Iran's decision-making apparatus.' The assessment presented by Gabbard has not altered, Reuters reported citing a source with access to US intelligence reports. US spy services also assessed that it would take up to three years for Iran to build a warhead with which it could strike a target of its choice. Some experts, however, argue that Iran could produce and deliver a crude, untested nuclear device in a much shorter timeframe, though its effectiveness would be uncertain. Trump has often dismissed the conclusions of US intelligence agencies, which he and his supporters have accused, without offering evidence, of being part of a "deep state" conspiracy of officials working against his presidency. During his first term, he frequently clashed with US intelligence agencies, notably over their judgement that Moscow interfered in the 2016 presidential election to benefit him, as well as his willingness to accept Russian President Vladimir Putin's denials of involvement. The White House stated that Trump would decide involvement in the Iran-Israel conflict over the next two weeks. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended a week of airstrikes on Iranian nuclear and military facilities, claiming that Tehran was close to acquiring a nuclear warhead.
