J.J. Spaun
has openly acknowledged the influence of his wife,
Melody Spaun
, throughout his time on the
PGA Tour
. The golfer credits Melody for helping him maintain a balance between his professional obligations and family commitments. In a January 6, 2023, media session, Spaun spoke about the couple's agreement limiting his daily practice time to five hours.
"It's going to be hard (the practice limit)," Spaun said, as quoted by Golf.com's Nick Piastowski. "She said, 'Well, yeah, if you start missing some cuts, we can adjust; we can add a couple hours there.' These are the conversations I have. I'm not even joking. I mean, this is how, our marriage, we don't, you know, it doesn't get too sideways. Happy wife, happy life."
