ADC leads the way with floral welcome for PM Modi
VIJAYAWADA: The Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) has taken the lead in transforming Andhra Pradesh's capital region into a visual spectacle ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Amaravati on May 2.
As part of the preparations for the relaunch of Amaravati works, the area is being decked up with ornamental plants and lush landscaping to welcome dignitaries and citizens alike, presenting a vibrant display of greenery and floral elegance.
As per the direction of the ADC Chairperson and Managing Director, D Lakshmi Parthasarathy, the Horticulture Department is beautifying key locations, including roads, helipads, and approach roads to the venue. The N9 road entrance now showcases majestic date palms interspersed with yellow flowering plants, while the Vedika Point has been enhanced with bougainvillaea and plumeria. In Mandadam village, yellow-leaved dendrobium lines both sides of the main road, and the seed access road features lawns and vibrant pink Lagerstroemia. The Malkapuram garden helipads are adorned with bougainvillaea pots, and the Secretariat entrance flaunts Ficus Ponda, Malfizia Cones, Dracaena Mahatma, and date palms.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, leaders, farmers, DWCRA women, and government officials are actively inviting residents to join the grand celebration of Amaravati's revival.

Gujarat CM Patel announces Gujarat Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy
Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], June 22 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has announced the Gujarat Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy-2025 (GECMS-2025), further strengthening Gujarat's identity as a policy-driven state under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Aimed at transforming Gujarat into a global hub for electronics manufacturing, this new policy brings a significant advantage: projects approved and supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, will be eligible for 100 per cent central assistance when established in Gujarat. Hence, MeitY-approved projects set up in the state will receive dual incentive benefits, one from the Central Government and another from the State Government according to a press release. Thoroughly aligned with the Central Government's Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), Gujarat's GECMS-2025 ensures a 100 per cent top-up on central support and guarantees timely disbursement of assistance. Also, once a project receives approval under the ECMS from MeitY, it will automatically become eligible for the same grant-in-aid in Gujarat. The State Government will disburse its incentive within 30 days of the Central Government releasing its assistance. Gujarat has established itself as a leading manufacturing and automobile hub in India's industrial landscape. With four semiconductor plants now operational in the state, the newly announced policy will further strengthen the upstream industries. This development will reduce import dependency and improve technological resilience. The policy aims to attract over Rs 35,000 crore in new investments and create substantial high-skilled employment opportunities within the state's electronics component manufacturing sector. Unveiled by the Chief Minister, the policy will boost investment in key segments such as multi-layer and HDI printed circuit boards, lithium-ion cells, SMD passive components, display and camera modules, electronic parts, and the additional required machinery essential for their production. A core focus of the policy is to bridge the talent gap, promote innovation and offer support for Research and development initiatives. Recognised institutions based in Gujarat will be eligible for assistance of up to Rs 12.5 crore from the state government to establish Centres of Excellence, Finishing Schools, or Applied Research Laboratories. Additionally, under the GECMS, turnover-linked incentives will be provided for six years. (ANI)

Air India flights avoid Persian Gulf airspace amidst Israel-Iran conflict
New Delhi [India], June 22 (ANI): Air India on Sunday said that all its flights are currently avoiding certain airspaces over the Persian Gulf, amidst escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. An Air India spokesperson, in a statement, said the adjustment in route may lead to extended flight durations for services to destinations including the UAE, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait, besides some flights to/from Europe and North America. 'Amid escalating tensions in the Gulf region, Air India group confirms that our flights currently do not operate over the airspaces of Iran, Iraq and Israel,' the Air India spokesperson said. As a proactive measure, Air India said it will be progressively avoiding the use of certain airspace over the Persian Gulf in the coming days, opting instead for alternative paths for flights to destinations including the UAE, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait. 'This adjustment may lead to extended flight durations for these services, as well as for select flights to/from Europe and North America. Air India is in continuous consultation with our external security advisors and is vigilantly monitoring the evolving situation, ready to implement additional measures, if required, to uphold the safety and integrity of our operations. We will keep our passengers informed of any updates. The safety and security of our passengers, staff, and aircraft remain our number one priority,' the Air India spokesperson added in the brief statement. The conflict between Israel and Iran entered tenth day on Saturday, with the US now joining in support of Israel. India continues its evacuation efforts for Indian nationals in Iran. Multiple flights have been operated to bring back citizens from the conflict-hit region, and some more are in the offing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke with the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, expressing deep concern at the recent escalations and calling for 'immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy.' PM Modi calls for de-escalation after US strikes Iranian nuclear sites
New Delhi: After the US attacked three nuclear sites in Iran, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and expressed deep concern over the escalation in the Israel-Iran conflict. Taking to social media platform X, the prime minister said he reiterated India's call for immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy to restore peace. 'Spoke with President of Iran @drpezeshkian. We discussed in detail about the current situation. Expressed deep concern at the recent escalations. Reiterated our call for immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward and for early restoration of regional peace, security and stability,' Modi said. The US on Saturday launched air strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities — Natanz, Fordo and Isfahan — sharply escalating tensions in West Asia. In a televised address on Sunday (India time), US President Donald Trump confirmed the direct assault on Iran's nuclear programme, ending days of speculation over Washington's entry into the Israel-Iran conflict. He warned that further strikes could follow. 'Remember, there are many targets left. Tonight was the most difficult of them all by far, and perhaps the most lethal. But if peace doesn't come quickly we will go to those other targets with precision, speed and skill," Trump said. Iran had earlier issued strong warnings against US involvement. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had cautioned that any American attack would cause 'irreparable damage.'
