Stormers v Benetton: All the stadium, parking info you need
After being lucky to escape with a victory last weekend, the DHL Stormers return to home turf on Saturday, 26 April 2025, as they take on Italian side Benetton in a high-stakes United Rugby Championship fixture at DHL Stadium in Green Point.
Kick-off is at 18:15, with gates opening two hours earlier at 16:15.
After a scrappy win against Connacht last week, fans are expected to turn out in full force to back John Dobson's boys in blue. And you know what that means, right? Traffic jams, like only Cape Town can manage.
With a busy weekend on the cards across the city, spectators are being urged to plan ahead to avoid traffic headaches and parking woes.
Due to limited parking around the stadium, fans are encouraged to park in the CBD and either stroll along the Fan Walk or take advantage of the free MyCiTi shuttle service that will be running exclusively for ticket holders.
These shuttles will operate between the Civic Centre and Thibault Square stations and the stadium, with services starting from 15:45. After the match, the last buses will depart from the stadium at 22:15.
Free parking is available for those using the MyCiTi buses from 10:00 at the Civic Centre, accessible via Hertzog Boulevard or Civic Road on a first-come, first-served basis. Paid parking is also available at Parkalot on Jack Craig Street and at Harbour Arch on Harbour Arch Boulevard.
Because here's the thing: it's not just rugby drawing crowds to the city this weekend. The Cape Town International Jazz Festival is also taking place at the CTICC on Friday and Saturday, which means you can expect higher-than-usual traffic volumes in the city centre. That's a polite way of saying, it's going to get a little crazy out there.
Road closures will be in effect from Saturday morning in and around the Green Point Precinct, including Fritz Sonnenberg Road, Helen Suzman Boulevard at the Green Point Circle, and Granger Bay Boulevard. Due to the Jazz Festival, additional closures will be in place near the CTICC, including Walter Sisulu Avenue.

Manchester United have been linked with ex-Everton striker Moise Kean, who enjoyed a prolific first season with Fiorentina during which he scored 25 goals across all competitions Everton flop Moise Kean has emerged a surprise transfer target for Manchester United. Kean's ill-fated £27.5million move to Everton in 2019 ultimately saw him spend more time out on loan than playing for the Toffees over a disappointing four-year spell. The striker only scored four goals in 37 appearances for Everton, resulting in him rejoining Juventus on a permanent basis in 2023 after an initial two-year loan. Now at Fiorentina, Kean has finally put his Goodison Park woes behind him and rekindled his career. Fiorentina paid just £11m for the Italian in what's proven to be a bargain transfer deal. Kean, 26, finished his first season playing for La Viola with 25 goals in 44 appearances. The former Paris Saint-Germain loanee helped Fiorentina reach the Conference League semi-finals and qualify for Europe by finishing sixth in Serie A. His prolific form has prompted links of a move to United, who are looking for a new striker. In good news for Ruben Amorim, Kean has a release clause of £44.5m which is active between July 1 and 15. Although paying the fee is cut and dry, convincing the 26-year-old to return to England after a troublesome time on and off the pitch could be difficult. During an interview with the Athletic last season, Kean revealed how much he disliked the weather in the north west of England. "They were so used to not seeing the sun, they were barbecuing on the beach in winter," the Juventus academy product recalled. "They were in short sleeves in winter. I said to myself: 'These people are out of their minds'." Kean is still grateful for the experience, adding: "England made me learn a lot about myself. I matured a lot. Victor Osimhen receives 'crazy' contract offer after Man Utd and Arsenal talks
Victor Osimhen has received a 'mind-blowing' contract offer from Saudi Arabia as he looks for a new club. The Nigeria spent last season on loan at Galatasaray and is open to returning to the Turkish champions as he does not have a future at Napoli. Osimhen was a prolific goalscorer for Napoli but Antonio Conte nevertheless sanctioned his exit 12 months ago and wants him sold this summer. Ex-Chelsea target Osimhen enjoyed his time in Turkey as he scored 37 goals in all competitions to help Galatasaray clinch the title. A permanent transfer to Galatasaray remains a possibility but Osimhen is believed to be dreaming of a move to the Premier League. 'It looks like he's turned down Al-Hilal… he must be waiting for Manchester United. I don't know if Manchester United are going to come. That's the problem.' Osimhen was close to completing a deadline-day move to Chelsea last summer but the Blues are not expected to be in the transfer race given they recently signed Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. More Trending Delap is one of the most highly-rated players in England but John Obi Mikel believes Chelsea fans would have preferred to see Osimhen join the club. 'It's not a secret. Everybody knows who I want to come to the football club and who the fans want to see at the football club [Osimhen],' Obi Mikel told The Evening Standard. 'But they've decided to go down a different route. I just hope that it's going to be the right decision. I like Liam Delap. He's a good young striker who works his socks off. 'Is he a proven goalscorer in the Premier League? Can he do it at a big club like Chelsea? That's the question. It's about how the manager works with him and develops him.'
