Boy, 11, shot in North Lawndale park, police say
An 11-year-old boy was shot and injured at a North Lawndale park Saturday afternoon, according to Chicago police. Police said an unknown gunman shot the boy in his lower back just before 5:30 p.m. at Franklin Park in the 1400 block of South Tripp Avenue, police said. He was transported to Stroger Hospital in good condition. Police said no suspects were in custody, and that detectives' investigation was underway.

Jacksonville police arrest 18-year-old man on murder charges following double shooting
Jacksonville police arrested an 18-year-old man following an early morning, double-fatal shooting at a Southside shopping center. Larry Allen Baldwin Jr. is charged with two counts of second-degree murder and is being held without bail at the Duval County detention center, according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office inmate records. He is accused of shooting 19-year-old Rubisnney Giraldo-Mina and 41-year-old Larry Allen Baldwin Sr. at about 3:20 a.m. June 21, at the shopping center in the 9500 block of Baymeadows Road near Old Baymeadows Road, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office posted on its social media. Sheriff's Office patrol officers responding to gunfire found Giraldo-Mina and the elder Baldwin with gunshot wounds on the sidewalk at the shopping center. Both died at the scene, police said. Police detained Larry Allen Baldwin Jr. at the scene. He was arrested after homicide detectives "thoroughly interviewed Baldwin Jr. and investigated at the scene of the double shooting," the Sheriff's Office posted. Neither information about the possible relationship between the three men, nor the circumstances surrounding the double shooting was available immediately. Hours long standoff in northern Colorado ends, suspect in custody
Police in northern Colorado have taken a suspect into custody after a standoff that lasted several hours Saturday afternoon. According to the Loveland Police Department, officers closed Boise Avenue in both directions near Silverleaf Drive due to an incident near Shadow Court around 2:26 p.m. Authorities said the suspect was "contained" inside the home but asked residents to remain inside while officers and SWAT members tried to resolve the situation.
