Jack Black earned the Favorite Movie Actor honor for Minecraft. In the TV categories, The Thundermans was deemed Favorite Kids TV Show, while its stars Jack Griffo and Kira Kosarin won for Favorite Male and Female TV Star (Kids) respectively. Cobra Kai cast-mates Xolo Maridueña and Peyton List took home the prizes for Favorite Male and Female TV Star (Family). XO, Kitty won for Favorite Family TV Show, America's Got Talent won for Favorite Reality TV Show and SpongeBob SquarePants won for Favorite Cartoon. SZA was voted Favorite Female Music Artist, Bruno Mars won for Favorite Male Music Artist and Stray Kids scored the Favorite Music Group trophy. Tyla hosted the Nickelodeon event, which also saw Black presented with the King of Comedy life-achievement award and Rihanna with the ICON Silver Blimp Award. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is getting Minecraft characters and Hatsune Miku to make sure people are "not just playing it when it comes out, having fun, and that being it"

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is getting its suite of crossover characters partly to ensure that players don't think of it as a one-and-done title. Speaking to GamesRadar+ at Summer Game Fest, veteran Sonic series producer Takashi Iizuka explains that the Minecraft and Yakuza crossovers that appeared in the game's most recent trailer (alongside Hatsune Miku and Persona 5's Joker) are there partly to provide a 'Hall of Fame' feel; "we wanted to make this title something that pulled from the best of our previous racing games." CrossWorlds, he says, borrows from All-Star Racing's broad selection of Sega characters, "so it's not just a Sonic universe game." But more than just providing a wide roster for the sake of it, Iizuka says that they've also been included "to make sure people are playing this game for a long time – not just playing it when it comes out, having fun, and that being it." "Really, we need to support [it] and make sure people are having fun and getting a fresh experience for as long as possible." To help with that, he drops a reminder about the Season Pass, which will help provide new content "for one year after the game launches," adding new things to the game "continually." Minecraft will be the first of those big drops, but Iizuka says that "as the year progresses, we'll have new characters coming into the race, new courses that the team is developing that will make it into the game, to make sure we have that long-time experience, and a lot of fun for players that want to continue playing." It shouldn't come as a surprise that the devs want their game to be played for as long as possible, but it's the kind of thing that isn't often said as loudly as this. New characters and courses – even those being added through a paid pass – are a pretty innocent way of expanding on a racing game, and unless you can shift a Mario Kart-esque number of copies, they're probably a good way of making sure that players do stick around for the longer haul. Whether Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds can do that with Mario Kart World lurking in the background remains to be seen, but given Iizuka's recent comments about Nintendo's new racer, he does seem to be feeling pretty confident. Where to watch: Max 'Deep Cover' There's a motley crew at work in this action comedy, with Bryce Dallas Howard as an improv comedy teacher recruited to infiltrate the London crime scene. She enlists the help of two students (Orlando Bloom and "Ted Lasso" breakout Nick Mohammed) and they accidentally become decent gangsters. Where to watch: Prime Video 'Echo Valley' Julianne Moore is in the conversation for Movie Mom of the Year. She starts in the twisty thriller as a horse trainer struggling to keep her business afloat after her wife's death. Things get worse as efforts to reconnect with her addict daughter (Sydney Sweeney) end up with the mother going to extremes to cover up a dead body. This weird couple literally gets more real as time passes, trying ice cream for the first time and opening up to each other. Where to watch: Paramount+ 'A Minecraft Movie' Kids are going to love it, as will anyone with a soft spot for the glorious weirdness of "Napoleon Dynamite." The adventure centers on misfits stuck in a fantasy world that makes the most of their creativity, with an unhinged Jack Black singing about lava chicken and a hilariously macho Jason Momoa gamely taking the brunt of the gags. Where to watch: Max 'Sally' While this revealing documentary about Sally Ride obviously touches on her being the first American woman in space, it's more interested in getting into her personal life. The movie digs into her tennis roots, the misogyny she dealt with regularly at NASA, and the lesbian romance she kept private for 27 years knowing it wouldn't be accepted. Where to watch: Disney+, Hulu 'Snow White' Rachel Zegler is enchanting as the title character, even if the Disney live-action musical remake plays it too safe. Targeted for death by her evil queen stepmom (a camped-out Gal Gadot), scullery maid Snow high-tails it to a nearby forest and makes some friends – including seven little miner dudes – before sparking her own revolution. Where to watch: Disney+
