Snooker star Jackson Page begins very different job after landing huge 147 bonus

Jackson Page is not only a history-making snooker player, but now the proud owner of a trading card and collectibles shop.
The 23-year-old continued to make good progress in his snooker career, enjoying the best season of his young career so far last time round.
A run to his first ranking final at the Championship League and two more ranking quarter-finals were encouraging, but the highlight came in World Championship qualifying.
The Welshman became the first player in the history of the game to make two 147s in the same match, doing so in a 10-2 demolition of Allan Taylor.
The amazing achievement saw Page won a huge £147,000 bonus for making two maximums over the four biggest events on the calendar – he just only needed one game to do it.
Some of those winnings have gone on a new venture, very different from potting balls, in Brynmawr, south Wales.

'Everyone on tour knows that I am really into collectible stuff like Pokemon Cards and other things,' he told WST. 'I just decided it would be great to open up a shop as a bit of a thing on the side.
'It is a bit of an interest for me and something I like to do when I'm not focussing on snooker. It has been a brilliant experience seeing it open up, I obviously can't work in there as I'm a snooker player but I've got someone to work there and it is a good hobby to have.'
'We've got all sorts of things in there like Lego sets and Plushies, as well as the trading cards. It has been fun setting it up. We've got a few cards in there worth over £2,000. The most valuable and rare Pokemon Card we have is called a Moonbreon.
'When I was a kid I used to collect cards and I got back into it a couple of years ago. Now I'm in a position where I'm able to open a shop so I'll see how it goes. It will be exciting to see how it pans out. Mark Williams popped over the other day to see the shop, his boy is into it all as well. So it was nice to have him come along.'
New world champion Zhao Xintong shares an interest with Page, as he showed by sporting the Pokemon Chimchar on his bowtie at the Crucible.
The shop's owner hopes to see the world champ come and spend some of his £500,000 winnings.
'He's just won a fortune, so he could be a good customer,' he said. 'Despite being there for the final, I had no idea he had that on his bowtie.
'We have a Chimchar Funko Pop in the shop actually. I could maybe sell that to him!'
Page made the two 147s in the penultimate round of World Championship qualifying but then was beaten by Joe O'Connor at the last hurdle before the Crucible. More Trending
He said after that loss that he would swap the history and huge bonus for a trip to the Crucible, but is a bit more philosophical on the situation now.
'It was hard to be too disappointed coming off the back of what I'd just done and what I'd won,' he said. 'It would have been a great buzz to go to the Crucible, but Joe is a great player and he played well.
'There's swings and roundabouts, wins and losses. At the end of the day I need to come back next year and try to be in a position where I don't have to qualify.'
Page gets the new season underway with a Wuhan Open qualifier against Ross Muir on June 24 and is back in action the following day in British Open qualifying against Elliot Slessor.

Luke Littler and Luke Humphries hit back at MBE jibe from former world champion

Darts sensation Luke Littler has reacted to former world champion Dennis Priestley, after he rubbished the awarding of an MBE to the 18-year-old. Littler won the 2025 World Darts Championship at the age of 17, becoming the tournament's youngest winner just a year after making the final as a 16 year old. His success has raised the profile of darts around the country, aided by his burgeoning rivalry with 30-year-old Luke Humphries who beat Littler in that 2024 final. Priestley, however, was not impressed with the pair being awarded MBEs in the King's Birthday Honours. Speaking to the Daily Express, the two-time world champion said: 'To be brutally honest, I don't think either Luke Littler or Luke Humphries have done enough to earn their MBEs just yet.' Priestley, nicknamed 'The Menace' during his career won the BDO world title in 1991 before claiming the WDC (which is now the PDC) prize three years later. Littler took to Instagram to reply to the 74-year-old Yorkshireman, and wrote: "Doesn't deserve an MBE but done more in 12 months than he ever did... that's what I would say anyway." His Instagram story has since been deleted. Priestley had said: "I think in time they could've done enough to warrant it but it feels very early, they have both won one World Championship each and are still young in their careers. 'Littler has been recognised for raising the popularity of darts which is great, but he can still do so much more. 'If he is getting an MBE this soon then you'd have to think he is on the right path to a knighthood, nothing would surprise me now.' Favourites for the tournament, Littler and Humphries were dumped out of the recent World Cup of Darts in their first match, losing to the German team in Frankfurt. The Northern Ireland pair of Daryl Gurney and Josh Rock went on to win the title, beating Wales' Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton in the final 10-9. Humphries joined in with challenging Priestley's words, taking to X to say it was 'disappointing to hear from a former pro' when the 'Menace' commented that the English pair had 'let their country down' in defeat at the World Cup. The Leeds United-supporting world champion has called for the incident to be moved on from after the war of words.

Cool Hand takes issue with harsh remarks of ex-hero Dennis Priestley Disappointed Luke Humphries has fired back at Dennis Priestley after the savage criticism launched out to him and Luke Littler by the darts legend. Cool Hand has responded to strong statements from the former World Darts Champion who hammered the England pair after their nightmare World Cup exit. ‌ Priestley didn't mince his words this week as he said they had let their country down and also stated Humphries and Littler were not yet deserving of the MBE honours which were handed to them on the even of the Frankfurt flop by The King. ‌ Littler was first to bite back with a post on social-media being noted only for a short time on Thursday before disappearing. However, Humphries has now used his X account to say: 'Disappointing to hear a top former pro who I admired say such a damaging thing to me and Luke. I didn't let my country down last year tho did I? One bad game for us and we will back next year to go again. Let's move on now.' Priestley roasted the pair after it emerged from rival Gerwyn Price that the duo had not sat together or practised as a pair in Germany. He said: 'Luke Littler and Luke Humphries let their country down at the World Cup of Darts, from what we've heard they weren't sitting together or practising together. 'When I was playing in pairs with Phil Taylor we practised together and sat together, we played all over the world and I only remember us getting beaten once. ‌ 'If you go on and win the tournament without practising then it doesn't matter, but when you go out without winning a game as the big favourites, it's not a good look. 'Having said that, I think they will learn from the experience and come back stronger. Don't be surprised to see them lifting the trophy next year.' Priestley also made it clear that he did not feel the the pair deserve such recognition from The King at this stage of heir careers.
