7 Celtic transfer headlines as summer window explodes with bargain Balikwisha, Greg Taylor successor and £2m trade off

It has been a quiet summer so far for Celtic - but there are set to be players reaching for the pens soon. Brendan Rodgers is set to land Fulham striker Callum Osmand as well as Norwegian winger Benjamin Nygren to follow up on Kieran Tierney's sensational return to Glasgow's east end. Advertisement But it's unlikely to slow down for the Hoops with Champions League qualifiers just around the corner. READ MORE: Evan Ferguson to Celtic transfer timeline and when loan deal from Brighton could really be announced READ MORE: Evan Ferguson to Celtic transfer rules set by ally as Inamura breaks cover and mega O'Riley payday endorsed The Scottish Premiership champions could bring in some new faces - as well as move some fringe men out of the door. But who is on the agenda? Record Sport takes a look. Callum Osmand The Fulham striker is set to become one of the first names in the building this summer - but former Craven Cottage striker Ross McCormack has raised concerns about the deal. Advertisement He told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard a deal could spell the end of Johnny Kenny's Celtic career. He said: 'If you sign a striker, then, of course, Daizen Maeda would go left wing. 'If you can only get a left winger, and can't get a striker that you want, then Daizen Maeda plays through the middle. Callum Osmand -Credit:MI News/NurPhoto via Getty Images 'What this does, for me, the young boy Osmand, who is coming from Fulham. It probably doesn't look good if you are Johnny Kenny. 'You are a young boy, and they have gone out and signed another sort of young striker. You are wondering what path his career is going to take now. 'If you only play one up front, there is no point in carrying a squad with four out-and-out strikers, let us be honest.' Luis Palma While fringe men like Kenny could be facing an exit, Luis Palma faces an uncertain future after Olympiacos refused to pick up the £3.5million option-to-buy in his contract. Advertisement Honduran outlet El Heraldo report the Hoops are desperate to move the winger on this summer and will "drop" the asking price to around £2million with suitors in Greece showing interest. Benjamin Nygren With a price tag reportedly placed on Palma, that could now be spent on Benjamin Nygren - who has just six months remaining on his Nordsjaelland contract. Reports suggest a £2million fee is on the cards with negotiations ongoing - but sporting director Phil Radley has hinted the club are in no rush to sell. Speaking to Danish outlet TV2 Radley said: 'There is a lot of focus on FC Nordsjælland's big transfers. Advertisement "We also have a big history with players who are here until the end of their contract, where they have contributed with 100-200 matches. What these players have contributed on the pitch is just as important as the big transfers.' Michael Ange-Balikwisha Despite chasing a deal for Nygern, Royal Antwerp winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha is also on the shortlist. And Voetbal 24 report that a bargain could be in the offing amid a fire sale for the Belgian side. It is said that sporting director Marc Overmars "won't hesitate" to cash-in with the club desperate to fill a £18million black hole in their finances. Greg Taylor Greg Taylor has yet to decide his future with his Celtic contract rapidly approaching an end. Advertisement The Celtic left-back is weighing up his options ahead of his current Parkhead deal expiring this month - with Rodgers previously stating he is keen to keep the Scotland cap and see him battle it out with Tierney. Greg Taylor's Celtic contract is ticking down But both PAOK and FC Copenhagen are said to be chasing a deal for the soon-to-be free agent. Despite the Danes ability to offer the 27-year-old Champions League football, News Fire report PAOK are "confident" Taylor will follow Jonjoe Kenny and agree a contract with the club. Keita Kosugi Djurgarden wonderkid Keita Kosugi has been tipped as a potential successor should Taylor depart. The 19-year-old left-back has opened up on his targets for the future away from the Swedish side. Advertisement But Djurgården's sporting director Bosse Andersson has hinted a bumper price tag could be placed on the rising star. He told Sportbladet: 'There has been quite a lot of interest in Keita Kosugi. Many have been here and looked around. Good Japanese players are highly valued." Marco Tilio He has spent most of his Celtic career away from the club on loan at Melbourne City, and the club are keen to extend that deal beyond the summer. Melbourne City's director of football Michael Petrillo has revealed discussions are ongoing with the Hoops. 'We're still negotiating whether he stays another year or goes to Europe. We hope he stays another year.' FC Barcelona Star's Registration Deleted By La Liga

La Liga had to delete the registration of new FC Barcelona star Joan Garcia after mistakenly ... More including him in the Catalans' first team squad on Friday afternoon, a few hours after the goalkeeper signed his contract at the Joan Gamper CT. La Liga had to delete the registration of new FC Barcelona star Joan Garcia after mistakenly including him in the Catalans' first team squad on Friday afternoon, a few hours after the goalkeeper signed his contract at the Joan Gamper CT. Garcia became Barca's first port of call in the summer transfer window thanks to his breakout 2024/2025 season. It was a campaign in which the Blaugrana became treble champions of Spain, yet ended up seeking a new shotstopper thanks to leaking seven goals in the Champions League semifinals to Inter Milan which denied it the chance to get to the decider for the first time since 2015. It was important to pounce on the opportunity to sign Garcia while his release clause was still at a reasonable €25 million, and that value would have only risen in the near future had he made his expected Spain debut under Luis de la Fuente. Garcia's representatives deposited the required funds on Friday last week, ahead of the 24-year-old's signing being officially announced by Barca and him then penning a six-year contract at the Joan Gamper CT. "I'm very happy, I really wanted this day to come and it has finally arrived," Garcia said. 'My goal is to continue growing as a goalkeeper and win a lot, achieve very nice things with the team, that's why I have come.' 'It is a very exciting project, with a great team and very young players, whom I already know. I really want to start and be with them,' he added. Yet eagle-eyed outlets such as Mundo Deportivo spotted that Garcia was immediately uploaded to Hansi Flick's squad in error. The mistake was quickly rectified and Garcia only appeared there for a few minutes, but he was then swiftly deleted. While some clubs such as Real Madrid can have new signings like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen uploaded to its squad on the La Liga website and registered immediately, it's not as straightforward at Barca where for the past few summers President Joan Laporta and Deco have had to do economic gymnastics to get new signings cleared to lace their boots up while the club stays on the right side of Financial Fair Play (FFP). FC Barcelona will continue trying to make new signings Despite this predicament, FC Barcelona will continue trying to make new signings and has reportedly agreed terms with Nico Williams. It now remains to be see how and when Laporta and Co can raise the Euro 2024's $66.8 million (€58 million) release clause.
