Southwest Sask. golf course deals with flooding after major rainfall

(Credit: Kelly Knight) Over the weekend, parts of Saskatchewan were hit with major rainfall, with some areas receiving up to 80 millimetres of rain. The rain caused flooding in some areas, including Eston Riverside Golf Course, just outside the southwestern Saskatchewan Town of Eston. The golf course says its maintenance staff will be working hard to try to get the park back into shape and will post updates when it becomes available. Saturday storm knocks down tree in southeast Calgary
A tree fell on Lake Sylvan Drive S.E. Saturday in Calgary during a rainstorm with heavy winds. Saturday's heavy wind and rain took a toll on at least one tree in southeast Calgary. The tree, on Lake Sylvan Drive S.E., toppled over Saturday afternoon. Crews arrived and cut it down into pieces that would be easier to haul away later. CTV News has reached out to the fire department to see how many other trees came down in the storm.

Evacuations underway as crews respond to forest fire on Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore
Homes have been evacuated from an area near a forest fire on Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore. In a post to X on Sunday, Nova Scotia RCMP say they were assisting Halifax Fire and Emergency and the Department of Natural Resources at the scene of a forest fire along Ostrea Lake Road, which is located near Musquodoboit Harbour. Police said they are evacuating residents from the 600 block of Ostrea Lake Road and adjoining roads to Highway 7. On Facebook, a post from the Halifax Professional Fire Fighters Union stated that the fire is burning out of control and that homes were being evacuated. The public is being advised to avoid the area.
