Man accused of drunkenly running over woman in Pike County campground
HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – A man from Beaver Dam is charged with attempted murder in Pike County after allegedly running over his friend during an argument.
According to an affidavit, Pike County Central Dispatch received a call that two people were believed to be intoxicated in a Pike State Forest Campground campsite next to him. The caller also claimed one of them drove their car into a tent.
Officials state when authorities arrived, a white Chevrolet Impala was seen with flattened front end, a concrete picnic table was damaged and a tent that was flattened. A man reportedly stumbled over to a Pike County deputy and claimed he and a friend got into an argument over pants. The male was later identified as Travis Deceuninck.
Deceuninck went on to claim he asked his friend to bring him new pants because he soiled himself, and he was taking her to North Carolina to 'get fixed'.
Deceuninck also said he had picked her up in his car three times and was chaotic each time because of her behavior. Officials state Deceuninck later admitted he and his friend had been drinking heavily.
The female was identified as Megan Manson. She claimed they were arguing about one of the dogs. She also claimed Deceuninck got into his car, drove over the tent and into the picnic table, causing the picnic table to collapse.
Manson claimed she was trying to save one of her dogs from getting hurt. She was complaining of several injuries with one of her socks being soaked in blood with an abnormal lump. EMS believed that her foot was broken. She was taken to an area hospital.
Deceuninck was detained, and during a portable breath test, a reading claimed Deceuninck's BAC level was .330.
After getting medical clearance, Deceuninck was booked into the Pike County Jail for Attempted Murder, Battery-Deadly Weapon, Battery-Serious Bodily Injury and Criminal Mischief.

Boy, 15, struck by lightning in Manhattan's Central Park
NEW YORK — A teenager out for a walk was struck by lightning in a freak occurrence in Central Park, police said on Thursday afternoon. The 15-year-old boy was strolling through the famed park when a thunderstorm suddenly broke out, with lighting striking him around 3:45 p.m. on the park's East Drive near E. 100th St. according to police. He was standing under a tree when lighting struck it, and the electric current jumped from the tree to a metal chain he was wearing around his neck, according to a police source. 'We found him sitting on the path right there,' a police officer told a Daily News reporter. 'He was still conscious. He's lucky to be alive.' EMS transported the boy to Weill Cornell Medical Center with a neck injury, police said. He is in serious but stable condition, according to cops. The odds of being struck by lightning in a given year are less than one in a million, according to the Centers for Disease Control. Almost 90% of lighting strike victims survive, according to the CDC. _______

Bicyclist critically injured after hit-and-run crash involving 2 vehicles
A bicyclist was critically injured after police say he was hit by the driver of two vehicles in Pittsburgh's Homewood neighborhood on Sunday night. The search for the drivers is underway. "It's not surprising to me that things like that happen," according to Bill Lowe, who lives in the area. Police were called to the intersection of Franktown and North Lang avenues around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday for a collision. When officers got to the scene, they found a man lying on the ground. He appeared to have been hit while riding his bicycle. After reviewing surveillance video at the intersection, police learned the man was struck by two vehicles speeding side-by-side down Frankstown Avenue. Neither driver stopped. "It's a concern for people that's heartless. If they're that heartless to do something like that, to run away, that's a big concern," Lowe said. EMS personnel performed CPR on the victim before taking him to a local hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, KDKA-TV saw numerous cyclists riding up and down the street while at the scene Monday afternoon. Off-camera, they said they believe it's safe to ride on streets that don't have bike lanes. While others said they have no business being on roadways with cars. "These streets don't have bicycle lanes like a lot of other streets in the city," Lowe said. "They need to focus more on going down those particular streets instead of main drags like this one here," Lowe said.
