The 2025 Stanley Cup Final has been one of the best in recent memory, at least so far. The series has seen three of the first four games head to overtime as the matchup heads to Game 5.

The Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers are a pretty even matchup, and it has shown out on the ice once again. The two teams just played a dramatic seven-game series in the Stanley Cup Final last year, and this matchup seems to be heading to that exact scenario again.
But just like all the fans, the two teams are excited about the way the games have gone. Florida head coach Paul Maurice had some interesting comments about how the series has gone so far.
"You're as wired as probably every fan is, right?" Maurice said of handling the situation. "I think it's actually easier for the players. They get to go out and burn it off on the ice, and then, maybe [it is] a little bit easier for the coaches and the managers, and as it spreads out to people who watch it in front of their TV.
"I mean, you're wired. That's why these days are so important, that you can come down from them, kind of rest, relax, and then wind back up tomorrow."

The scene is shifting back to Edmonton for Game 5, and should offer the Oilers a slight advantage with home ice. But the Panthers have shown some strong poise throughout the playoffs, and won't go down without a fight.

Game 5 is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday night.

ESPN Analyst Breaks Down Commanders' Laremy Tunsil Addition

ESPN Analyst Breaks Down Commanders' Laremy Tunsil Addition originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Laremy Tunsil has been known as a Pro Bowl-caliber left tackle since the Miami Dolphins drafted him in 2016. Advertisement Now with the Washington Commanders, the 30-year-old offensive lineman hopes to reach new heights with his third team. Washington traded with the Houston Texans to acquire Tunsil in the hopes that he would stabilize their offensive line. While the veteran is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career, being with a championship-caliber team like Washington may help him get his career back on track. That is at least what ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler spoke about when an anonymous source detailed how important the trade was for Washington. "He's still a top-three tackle for me," an AFC scout said to Fowler. "And anything you can do to protect Jayden Daniels and load up while he's on his rookie deal is smart. They gave up a little more than I'd like but I trust AP [general manager Adam Peters] that he knows what he's doing here." Advertisement Washington's important goal last season was stabilizing the offensive line. The line was inconsistent in protecting star quarterback Jayden Daniels. After reaching the conference title game for the first time in three decades, it's clear that the team needed to do whatever it took to try and build around their young signal-caller. That is why the team added Tunsil in the first place, and it seems like the rest of the league knows how important that move is. Commanders' 2nd-Round Pick Earns Offseason Rookie Honor

Commanders' 2nd-Round Pick Earns Offseason Rookie Honor originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Washington Commanders addressed some subpar play in the secondary last season with the selection of Ole Miss cornerback Trey Amos in the second round of this year's NFL Draft. Advertisement Amos is expected to eventually play opposite Marshon Lattimore (if he's ever healthy) on the outside while Mike Sainstril and Jonathan Jones handle inside duties. The 6-1, 190-pounder also gives the Commanders some much-needed size at the position. That's part of the reason Gennaro Filice thinks Amos fits perfectly into his All-Rookie team ahead of the 2025 season. "Atrocious cornerback play last September forced Washington to move rookie Mike Sainristil outside, and he acquitted himself quite well, but the scrappy 5-foot-9 playmaker is likely still at his best in the nickel role," Filice wrote. "So, who can fill the CB slot opposite Marshon Lattimore? The Commanders signed veteran Jonathan Jones, who offers inside/outside ability, but Amos sure has the look of a Dan Quinn corner. Washington was thrilled when he was still available late in the second round, and no wonder: The big, physical CB displayed enticing press-man ability last season in the SEC, earning first-team all-conference honors. Advertisement "Defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. undoubtedly appreciates Amos' ball production (SEE: 3 INTs and 13 PBUs in 2024), having spent much of last season begging for takeaways." Although that's the ultimate goal, Amos doesn't have to be a starter right away. Lattimore will hopefully be healthy and Washington brought in Jones this offseason. With both Jones and Sainstrill suited better to play inside, Amos is expected to fulfill that starting job. When he's ready, hopefully sooner than later. Commanders' Austin Ekeler Has Terry McLaurin Contract Message

Commanders' Austin Ekeler Has Terry McLaurin Contract Message originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Washington Commanders haven't had too many bumps in the road since Dan Quinn took over last offseason, but my word, there's some trouble brewing this offseason. Advertisement Star receiver Terry McLaurin wants a new contract, but so far, nothing substantial has taken place, and Terry hasn't been sighted at all this offseason, even at OTAs or minicamp. With the general thought that the franchise will eventually come to terms with arguably their best offensive weapon, not named Jayden Daniels, running back Austin Ekeler has given his thoughts on No. 17 and his desire to get paid on the Ross Tucker podcast. 'I wish him the best, absolutely, go get what you're worth,' Ekeler said. 'You're a huge impact to not only the team but just the league in general. You made a bunch of great plays, especially coming off of last year, what you did for us, should be compensated because it's a high-impact player and also a high-value player for the league and for the DMV area. But definitely staying out, I don't even want to be in that, I'm staying on the outside.' Mandatory Credit: Bill Streicher-Imagn Images It would be foolish for Washington, which has pushed all its chips into the middle of the table this offseason by acquiring Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil, to then not have its best weapon on the field too. Advertisement To us, it doesn't make sense, and considering Terry is widely regarded as one receiver who, regardless of the circumstances, consistently puts up good numbers, the time has come to reward him. Will it get done? It should, but contract situations rarely go smoothly. And when it comes to Washington's chances in the NFC and the Super Bowl, it might just hinge on whether or not "Scary Terry" gets what "he's worth."
