ESPN report suggests Miami is gaining momentum in Kevin Durant trade talks

The Miami Heat appear to be gaining steam as a potential trade destination for Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant. In turn, that could decrease the likelihood of a deal with the Houston Rockets. On Saturday night, ESPN's Shams Charania listed the Heat first among three teams that Durant would want a trade to and commit to long-term (joining the Rockets and San Antonio Spurs, who were the only teams previously reported). In all of Charania's other reports this week, Houston had been listed first among Durant suitors. Advertisement As part of a separate story also published late Saturday, The Athletic's Sam Amick, Kelly Iko, and Jon Krawczynski referred to a deal with the Rockets or Spurs as 'unlikely for now.' In both cases, Phoenix seemingly isn't receiving the desired trade return from Houston or San Antonio that it would want. While it's possible that any of these leaks could be for leverage purposes, the momentum seems to be in Miami's favor as the Durant talks enter what is believed to be their closing stages. If there's a silver lining for the Rockets, should they not land the 15-time NBA All-Star, it's that Miami is an Eastern Conference team. The Spurs or Minnesota Timberwolves — reported to be in the Durant discussions on Friday — would likely be a worse outcome than the Heat from a Houston perspective, since those are West rivals. Mets vs. Phillies: How to watch on June 21, 2025

The Mets (45-31) play the Philadelphia Phillies (46-30) Saturday at 7:15 p.m. on FOX. Here's what to know about the game and how to watch... Mets Notes With Friday's 10-2 series-opening loss, the Mets are on a season-long seven-game losing streak. New York suffered consecutive three-game sweeps in this past week's sets against the Tampa Bay Rays and at the Atlanta Braves. Previously, the Mets' longest skid of the season was three games between May 18-20 -- losses at the Yankees (one) and Boston Red Sox (two). The Phillies have a one-game lead over the Mets in the National League East Division and are 8-2 in their past 10 games. New York, meanwhile, is 3-7 in its past 10 games. The Mets' last win was a 4-3 victory against the Washington Nationals, which completed a series sweep and extended New York's six-game streak. Earlier this season, the Mets swept the Phillies in a three-game set April 21-23. Right-handers Griffin Canning (6-3, 3.80 ERA) and Mick Abel (2-0, 2.21 ERA) are the probable pitchers for the series' second game. Canning looks to get back on track after allowing a season-high six runs and five walks in this past Sunday's 9-0 loss to the Rays.
