A Yorkshire beach was once again a scene of drag racing as motorists faced off in front of cheering spectators.
Vintage vehicles raced along the 200-yard course on Bridlington's South Beach on Saturday (June 14) and Sunday during Race the Waves.

A variety of classic vehicles were on display in South Marine Drive, and entertainment was provided by the Bridlington Gold Radio Roadshow and the Bridlington Red Admirals Majorettes.

The company says each body takes over 300 hours to create, with the metalwork shaped using traditional panel beating techniques. After that, the sculpture undergoes a two-week hand machining process to create the polished finish. Hedley Studios is best known for producing electric scale replicas of cars like the Bugatti Type 35, Bentley Blower, and Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. I drove the latter in track-honed Pacco Gara specification back in 2023. Section of the A3 to close over the weekend

A section of the A3 will close in both directions over the weekend as the £317m Wisley interchange upgrade continues in Surrey. National Highways has said the closure will be between the M25 Junction 10 and the Painshill Roundabout in Cobham, lasting from 21:00 BST on Friday until 06:00 on Monday. The works include installing an overhead road sign holder, drainage work in the central reservation and installing trenches for technology across all lanes. Diversions will be in place across the weekend. The same section of the A3 will be closed again from 4 to 7 July, say National Highways. Motorcyclist dies in County Armagh crash

A 25-year-old motorcyclist has died after a two vehicle crash in Tandragee on Thursday. Police were called to a collision involving the motorcycle and a Renault Scenic car at Mullahead Road shortly after 08:10 BST. Emergency services attended the incident, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Road closures were in place for some time but the Mullahead Road has since reopened, while a closure remains in place at Ballymore Road. Police have appealed to anyone who was in the area at the time and has dash cam or mobile phone footage to get in touch.
