Yahoo5 hours ago

Plymouth Argyle fans will be able to buy tickets for the pre-season game away to 2024/25 National League South champions Truro City from Friday morning.
The Pilgrims' first visit to the Truro City Stadium, which has been home to the Tinners since last August, will take place on Wednesday, July 16, with a 7.30pm kick-off. It will be an opportunity for the Green Army, especially those in Cornwall, to get an early glimpse of their team in action under new head coach Tom Cleverley.

Truro, whose assistant manager is former Argyle striker Stewart Yetton, pipped Torquay United to the National League South title on goal difference last term and will become the first ever Cornish side to play at Step One (the National League).

General sale prices will be £15 for adults, £12 for concessions (any person over the age of 65, students in full-time education or ambulant disabled) and £6 for under-18s. Matchday prices will be £18, £15 and £11 respectively. Purchases can be made by the Truro official website: https://trurocity.co.uk/
A Truro statement said: "Tickets will go on sale to home and away supporters separately, so sales and expectant numbers of fans can be monitored closely by Truro City.
"At this stage, the club does not expect the fixture to be segregated, although defined home and away ticket sales will make this process straightforward to implement, should the need arise.
"Truro City season ticket holders will have a priority window of 48 hours, from Wednesday, June 18 at 10.00am, to secure their tickets to this eagerly anticipated cross-Tamar clash.

"Fans that purchase a season ticket during the priority window, will be able to purchase their ticket for the Argyle game, before general sale starts at 10.00am on Friday, June 20.
"All tickets for this match will be for general admission, with seats in the Eden Hot Tubs North Stand allocated on a first come, first served basis.
"The club will be providing a full update on scheduled works that are taking place at the Truro City Stadium over the summer, including the expansion of the Eden Hot Tubs North Stand in due course later this week."
Argyle have not played a pre-season game against Truro since July 2019 when they lost 1-0 to City at their former ground, Treyew Road, after a goal from ex-Pilgrims' striker Louis Rooney.

😱 Chelsea out to Flamengo 3-1: Danilo scores, Jackson madness 🇧🇷

Brazilian teams continue to impress in the Club World Cup: Flamengo beats Chelsea 3-1 in a comeback, this is the second giant killing after Botafogo's against PSG. We also remember the two draws of Palmeiras and Fluminense against Porto and Borussia Dortmund. No Brazilian team has yet lost in the competition. ⚡Pedro Neto's illusion and 6 minutes of madness At the 13' Pedro Neto scores in open field taking advantage of a serious mistake by Wesley (linked to several Italian teams in recent days) but Chelsea does not have the dominance of the game or possession: even 63% against the 37% of the Blues. However, Maresca's team experiences 6 minutes of total distraction: first a beautiful launch by Gerson (ex Fiorentina) inspires the header assist for Bruno Henrique's tap-in at the 62', who entered the field 10' ago. 2 minutes pass and Flamengo completes the comeback: on a corner kick, ex-Juve Danilo scores the 2-1 with a split. 😱 Nicolas Jackson sent off after 4'! Goal from 2005 The sporting madness continues with the expulsion of Nicolas Jackson at the 68', just 4 minutes after he came on. Hammer leg for no reason and a rightful red. Flamengo's coach Filipe Luis (former Atletico Madrid full-back) brings in the 2005 class striker Wallace Yan who fortuitously finds the 3-1 at the 83'. 🇧🇷 Brazilian Dominance: Chelsea and PSG KO! Dortmund 🛑 This result confirms a very clear trend: Brazilian teams are dominating these early rounds of the Club World Cup, especially against the big European teams Advertisement Remember that Palmeiras drew with Porto 0-0 and is in 1st place in Group A, as is Botafogo in Group B after beating PSG 1-0. Fluminense, on the other hand, held Borussia Dortmund to a 0-0 draw but creating more chances than the Germans. And now Flamengo's 3-1 win over Chelsea has arrived, with the red-blacks leading Group D: 6 points out of 6. This article was translated into English by Artificial Intelligence. Liverpool report: Bayer Leverkusen to break transfer record in unprecedented deal

Arne Slot has already secured several impressive signings. | Credit: Getty Images The burgeoning transfer market love affair between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen could be set to bear fruit once more. Advertisement Liverpool won their second title of the Premier League era last month and have moved quickly to strengthen their hand ahead of what looks certain to be a challenging title defence. Ex-Reds midfielder Xabi Alonso has moved on from his role as Leverkusen manager and Liverpool have already raided his former club twice since the end of the 2024/25 season. Liverkusen back at the negotiating table Jeremie Frimpong in action for Leverkusen | Credit: Getty Images Liverpool and Leverkusen have done business with relatively little fuss this summer. The Premier League champions were able to quickly wrap up the acquisition of rampaging right-back Jeremie Frimpong and in-demand midfield man Florian Wirtz is expected to follow. Advertisement It's been widely reported that Wirtz will move to Anfield for a Premier League record fee in the region of £116 million, with an agreement already reached between the clubs. Arne Slot and Liverpool have been watching Leverkusen closely | Credit: Getty Images Now, the two teams are reportedly in discussions over a possible move in the other direction: centre-back Jarell Quansah is currently at the European Under-21 Championship in Slovakia with Lee Carsley's England team, who will face Spain in the quarter-finals on Saturday. With his Premier League minutes limited and Arne Slot's defensive preference locked in, the 22-year-old is believed to be a target for new Leverkusen boss Erik ten Hag. Advertisement Kicker have noted that Die Schwarzroten could even table a record offer in order to secure the defender, with Kerem Demiray the club's record signing for €28-32 million. 'Leverkusen have taken a liking to Jarell Quansah, and they may use the goodwill built up with Liverpool to agree a quick, simple and peaceful deal,' reports the Express. Jarell Quansah | Credit: Getty Images 'However, even in spite of nabbing two of the German side's best players in the early stages of the summer, the Reds are reluctant to let Quansah go on the cheap.' The Reds are apparently willing to hold out for £40m before letting Warrington-born Quansah leave Anfield despite the fact that he's started only 17 league games for Liverpool since his senior debut at the outset of 2023/24. Advertisement There's no real incentive for Liverpool to sell Quansah. He's still learning his trade and offers useful back-up to Slot's preferred duo of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate along with Joe Gomez. Van Dijk is still leading by example as Liverpool's captain and tying him down to a new contract this year was a crucial step towards mounting a formidable title defence but he is 33 years of age and his team will need depth now and a replacement in the future.

Look: Jalen Ramsey was in LA working out with Eric Weddle's son at USC

Jalen Ramsey and Eric Weddle won a Super Bowl together with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, going on an unforgettable playoff run after the former All-Pro safety came out of retirement for the final stretch. Weddle has since retired again but Ramsey remains one of the best defensive backs in football, and he's looking for a new team. Ramsey has been back in Los Angeles recently and on Thursday, he reunited with his fellow Super Bowl champion. Advertisement Ramsey linked up with Weddle for a workout with his son, Gaige, who's in high school and getting recruited to some big college programs. They hit the practice field on USC's campus, taking this photo together after their session. Ramsey shared Gaige's post and wrote, 'Can't wait to see you keep ballin!' Ramsey is still a member of the Miami Dolphins but he skipped mandatory minicamp while the team attempts to trade the All-Pro cornerback. He still considers Los Angeles home and spends time on the West Coast, which has fueled rumors about the possibility of the Rams bringing him back. While he awaits his fate on the trade market, Ramsey will continue putting in work in Los Angeles – and maybe he'll get to stay there long-term again.
