Caernarfon Town 5-0 Bala Town: Louis Lloyd's hat-trick and two from Sam Downey - including his first Cymru Premier goal - gave Caernarfon a convincing win over Gwynedd rivals Bala at The Oval. Caernarfon are fourth while Bala are sixth.
Haverfordwest County 1-2 Penybont: Ben Ahmun's header gave the hosts the lead on 20 minutes but Owen Pritchard levelled three minutes later for Penybont, who secured victory late on thanks to James Crole's winner. Bont remain second and nine points ahead of third placed County.

Cardiff Met 0-6 The New Saints: Champions TNS extended their winning run to 16 matches across all competitions as they thrashed Cardiff Met. Adam Wilson struck twice in the opening half to put Craig Harrison's men in control at Cyncoed Campus. Aramide Oteh netted the Saints' third before Wilson completed his hat-trick two minutes later. Substitutes Zack Clarke and Louis Phillips completed the rout as the league leaders kept an eighth clean sheet in nine matches. Met sit fifth, two points behind Caernarfon and nine clear of Bala.

Newtown 2-3 Connah's Quay Nomads: Connah's Quay boosted their play-off hopes with victory at Latham Park to move them within two points of seventh placed Barry and leaves Newtown in the relegation zone. Rhys Hughes and Jack Kenny put Nomads firmly in control at the interval and although Desean Martin replied for Newtown, Ben Nash restored the visitors' two-goal lead. Jason Oswell scored a second for Newtown, who are three points from safety.
Aberystwyth Town 0-1 Briton Ferry Llansawel: Aberystwyth's relegation from the Cymru Premier was confirmed after a 1-0 defeat at home to Briton Ferry Llansawel on Friday evening.
Aber have been ever presents in Welsh football's top-flight since its formation in 1992. The Seasiders have flirted with relegation for the last two seasons, surviving on the final day but Antonio Corbisiero's side's fate was confirmed with three games of the season left to play.
Caleb Demery's goal with six minutes remaining gave Ferry a vital win in their own battle to avoid the drop.

Flint Town United 3-2 Barry Town United: Joshua Jones scored a late penalty as Flint beat Barry to move within touching distance of securing their top-flight status. Ieuan Owen gave Barry the lead after just seven minutes at the Essity Stadium. But the hosts turned the contest around as Ben Hughes and Elliott Reeves both netted before half time. Kayne McLaggon looked to have earned the away side a point after equalising in the 81st minute, but Jones struck from the spot in the final minute to earn Flint victory. The Silkmen - who are ninth - sit seven points clear of Newtown with just three matches remaining this season. Barry stay seventh but are now only two points above Connah's Quay.

Canine cowabunga: Repeat surf dog champions crowned in Huntington Beach
Petey the Surf Dog caught a long wave early in the small dog finals of the Purina Pure Plan Incredible Dog Challenge Western Regional competition on Friday morning. The 6-year-old West Highland white terrier from Huntington Beach rode it all the way in toward the shore, earning plenty of points. Petey's trainer, Kay DeLoach, marveled at the ride after the competition. 'He seems to adjust his balance so he doesn't fall off,' DeLoach said. 'It's amazing to watch.' Petey proved up to the challenge yet again at Huntington State Beach. He won the small dog competition at the 28th annual event for the second straight year, topping a terrier mix from Long Beach named Carson in the championship heat. Koa, an 11-year-old female Labrador from Carlsbad, was also a repeat winner in the large dog competition at the event, held between Brookhurst Street and Lifeguard Tower 2. Koa edged Charlie, a yellow Labrador from El Cajon, in the final heat. Petey racked up the points even in low tide conditions, advancing to the final after a 10-minute preliminary heat. 'It was hard,' said DeLoach, who oversees Westie Rescue of Orange County. 'I was definitely nervous. Somebody asked me how do you feel when they take him out like that, and I said, 'panic.'' But he proved up to the challenge. DeLoach, who has lived in Surf City for about 25 years, said it was very exciting to repeat in a home competition. Koa's trainer, Kristina Welsh, raised her arms in victory after the final results of the large dog competition were announced. Koa was actually racing against her husband in the last heat — Welsh said that the trainers staged a wedding between Koa and Charlie last year. Derby, a retired surf dog also from the San Diego area, served as officiant. 'Hopefully Charlie doesn't divorce her,' said Welsh, smiling, after the competition. 'I'm honored, I really am. I really wanted this for her, because this is just something that she loves so much.' Welsh said that with Koa advancing in age, she wasn't sure if she would be back competing in Huntington Beach again next year. She gave a shout out to the knowledgeable lifeguards assisting with the competition, for helping Koa get on some really nice waves. 'Dogs have so much more than being a house dog, you know,' Welsh said. 'She has found her passion, and we can share that with people. People can see her athletic abilities, but also just the fact that she's like every other kid that wants to go out surfing. There's no difference. She wants to spend her day surfing just like a typical Southern California kid. It's the cutest thing in the world.' Dan Nykolayko from Newport Beach did not quite see his 2-year-old French bulldog Rocket advance to the small dog finals. Nykolayko formerly trained Cherie, another now-retired champion French bulldog. 'She's at home, mad,' said Nykolayko, smiling, sensing a bit of jealously. 'She's been barking at us.' The Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Huntington State Beach, between Beach Boulevard and Newland Street. Dogs will try their skills in agility, diving dog, freestyle flying disc, fetch it and weave competitions. The event is free and open to the public.

Wrexham sign Plymouth Argyle striker Ryan Hardie on three-year contract
Plymouth Argyle striker Ryan Hardie has become the first summer signing of ambitious newly-promoted Championship club Wrexham for an undisclosed fee. Hardie had 12 months remaining on his contract at Argyle and Plymouth Live understands that he was offered a new improved one by the Pilgrims but Wrexham, who are owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, came up with a deal which was worth more than that. Advertisement Sky Sports News reporter Anthony Joseph posted on X (Twitter) tonight that it was understood Wrexham had paid in the region of £700,000 for Hardie, whose release clause in his contract was reduced after Argyle's relegation from the Championship. "The last couple of seasons, it's been good getting experience in the EFL Championship and it's experience I can lean on now. Hardie leaves Argyle in joint 12th position in the club's all-time scoring list with 74 goals from a total of 174 starts and 74 substitute appearances since first joining from Blackpool in January 2020. That was the first of two loan stints for the former Glasgow Rangers striker before he completed a permanent transfer to the Pilgrims early in 2021. Hardie was Argyle's top scorer last season with 12 goals in all competitions, one more than Mustapha Bundu, who is out of contract at the end of this month and has rejected the offer of a new deal. 'Uphill battle': Wales coach hikes mountain to announce squad for Women's Euros
Seeking to scale new heights at the Women's European Championship, Wales coach Rhian Wilkinson hiked to the summit of the principality's highest peak on Thursday to announce her squad for the tournament. Wilkinson, a Canadian whose mother was born in Wales, woke up early before embarking on the 3,560-foot (1,085-meter) ascent up Snowdon — or Yr Wyddfa, to give the mountain range's Welsh name. While she went on foot, the assembled media took a small train at 7 a.m. local time to get to the summit. Wilkinson has guided Wales to its first major soccer championship and has equated the feat to climbing a mountain. 'It was always going to be an uphill battle, one where we were going to have little setbacks,' Wilkinson said at a news conference atop Snowdon. "What is mountaineering? Exactly that — a challenge of steeper parts and flattening off. All these parallels you can make. 'So, we have used this mountain as an image throughout the campaign. And equally, as we move toward the Euros, we have started talking more about the summit, the Everest part of it. That something is impossible until it isn't. And we are there.' Yr Wyddfa is close to Wilkinson's heart. She said her parents spent their honeymoon there, she hiked there as a kid and a ceremony was held there after the death of her father. Sophie Ingle, 33, was named in the squad despite being out since September with anterior cruciate ligament damage. She has 141 caps and led Wales 83 times from 2015-24 before stepping down as captain. ___
