In these times of stress, yoga provides mental clarity and physical strength," he said, adding that chief minister Hemant Soren envisions a "Swasth Jharkhand" and yoga is a cornerstone in that direction. He highlighted that nearly 1,000 trained yoga instructors are active in Jharkhand's 745 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, and emphasised the govt's plans to build Dhanvantari AYUSH hospitals in Ranchi and East Singhbhum. The state is also running yoga training for students in classes 6–12. "If every citizen devotes even a few minutes daily to yoga, the result will be a healthier society," said Ansari. Union minister of state for defence, Sanjay Seth, present at the event, told students, "You are the power of this young nation. Let yoga help you shape your future and the country's destiny." At Raj Bhavan, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar joined schoolchildren and staff for a yoga session inside the Birsa Mandap. "Yoga is India's unique gift to the world. ‘Will screen all in state for sickle cell anaemia'
Ranchi: The state department of health, medical education and family welfare aims to screen Jharkhand's entire population for sickle cell anaemia within a year, health minister Irfan Ansari said on Thursday. Addressing a programme, held to observe World Sickle Cell Awareness Day at sadar hospital here, Ansari said a bone marrow transplant centre will soon be set up in the hospital to ensure affordable treatment to the patients of the state. "Jharkhand has emerged as a model for other states when it comes to testing sickle cell anaemia. The health professionals, including doctors, nurses, ANMs, and GNMs, have played a key role behind this success. The govt is committed to 100% eradication of the disease in the state," he said. Ansari said extensive tests are being carried out to detect sickle cell anaemia across all the districts in line with the Centre's National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission 2047. Health officials and experts said the disease is prevalent in 17 districts, where tribal population dominate the demography. "Soon, we will set up a Medico City which will provide comprehensive medical care in the state. Patients will not have to travel outside for treatment," he said. Health secretary Ajoy Kumar Singh said most of the patients hail from tribal communities. "Out of 1,381 recorded sickle cell anaemia patients in Ranchi district, only 225 are undergoing treatment. We must ensure 100% testing of all population and provide medical attention to those affected by the disease," he said.

Rims awaits central lab takeover from building construction dept
Ranchi: The central laboratory at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) is ready for handover. According to the officials of the hospital, the building construction department is expected to hand over the facility to the Rims administration within 15 days. Constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 75 lakh, the new lab is designed to offer comprehensive diagnostic services under one roof. The facility will reduce the inconvenience faced by patients for medical tests. The centralised structure is expected to streamline operations and improve patient experience. Though the infrastructure is complete, the lab is not yet operational as the installation of essential diagnostic equipment is still pending. The arrival and setup of advanced testing machines such as auto analysers, urine auto analysers, coagulation auto analysers, and haematology auto analysers are awaited. Full-scale testing operations are likely to commence only after these machines are installed. Once fully operational, the lab will offer 24-hour blood testing services. Dr Ranjan also emphasised that with the introduction of separate counters for report collection, patients will no longer have to move from one department to another, thus minimising delays and confusion.
