The first Slam Dunk contest was held in 1984, which was won by Larry Nance. Since then, the All-Star break has become a moment every bona fide NBA lover looks forward to. He became the first ever player to have won three contests in a row. Also, he equaled Nate Robinson's record of winning three Slam Dunk contests.

In the final dunk, Gordon leaped over 7'5' Tacko Fall to score a dunk. It was awarded 47 points, which stirred reactions from fans. They thought it was an unfair decision to rob Gordon of the three points. Jones Jr won the final dunk and the contest by scoring a perfect 50.
2023 - A complete Mac McClung Show
Philadelphia 76ers' Mac McClung ruled the 2023 NBA Slam Dunk contest with his sheer brilliance. He made a historic 99.8 score, the highest for the starting round in the contest.

Virat who? Ex-cricketer forgets Virat Kohli's name after Shubman Gill's animated celebration
Image credit: AFP NEW DELHI: Shubman Gill burst into an animated celebration after Mohammed Siraj dismissed Joe Root during a crucial phase of the match. The Indian Test captain charged toward Siraj, pointing at him in a way that clearly signaled their well-executed plan had worked perfectly. But the joy was short-lived. Root immediately reviewed the decision, and the DRS showed a faint edge was missing — the on-field call was overturned, and the former England skipper survived. Watching Gill's exuberance, former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar couldn't help but draw comparisons. He said Gill's reaction reminded him of someone familiar — someone who used to bat at No. 4. Without naming him, the hint was obvious: Virat Kohli . Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! 'Who is this — Shubman Gill or someone else?' Manjrekar said on air. 'When he bats, he seems so calm, composed — a completely different personality. Captain Gill, we are seeing this version for the first time. His celebration… it reminded me of someone, but I'm struggling to place it. MS Dhoni never celebrated like that from mid-on, and it's definitely not Rohit Sharma 's style. Could be a No. 4 batter... My third guess would be Ajit Wadekar,' he added, sparking laughter in the commentary box, with Varun Aaron and Navjot Singh Sidhu joining in. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Gill's day wasn't just about fiery reactions. Next West Bengal CM or Team India head coach? Sourav Ganguly drops a massive hint
Kolkata: Former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly during an interview with PTI at his residence, in Kolkata. (PTI Photo/Swapan Mahaptra)(PTI06_21_2025_000340A) Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has expressed openness to potentially coaching the Indian cricket team while firmly rejecting any political aspirations ahead of the 2026 West Bengal assembly elections. The 53-year-old former BCCI President made these comments during a recent podcast interview with PTI in Kolkata. Ganguly, who served as Team Director of Delhi Capitals from 2018-19 and 2022-24, addressed speculation about his future plans in cricket administration and coaching. "I never really thought about it because I got into different roles. I finished (competitive cricket) in 2013 and then became Board (BCCI) President," Ganguly said, highlighting that promoting women's cricket was his biggest contribution as BCCI President. 04:54 India lose momentum on Day 2 | England Fight Back at Headingley When asked about coaching the Indian team, Ganguly responded: "We'll see what the future holds. I'm just 50 (53), so let's see what happens. I'm open to it. We'll see where it goes." On the political front, Ganguly was unequivocal in his response. When asked about joining a political party, he simply stated: "I am not interested." Even when pressed about the possibility of being offered the state chief minister's position, he maintained the same stance. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like What She Did Mid-Air Left Passengers Speechless medalmerit Learn More Undo Ganguly shared his thoughts on current Indian coach Gautam Gambhir 's performance, noting his improvement since the Champions Trophy victory in Dubai. Poll Should Sourav Ganguly consider coaching the Indian cricket team? Yes, he has the experience. No, he should focus on administration. Maybe, depending on the team's needs. Not sure, it depends on his interest. "Gautam (Gambhir) is doing a good job. He started off a little slow, losing to Australia and New Zealand, but he picked up with the Champions Trophy. This is going to be a big series (vs England)," Ganguly observed. Speaking about Gambhir's coaching style, Ganguly said: "I haven't seen him from very close in this role, but I know he is very passionate. I haven't observed his strategies closely because I haven't worked with him as a coach. He's very straightforward, he sees things clearly, and he's very open about what he feels, about the team, players, people, everything. From the outside, you can tell he's a very transparent person - what you see is what you get. " Ganguly recalled his playing days with Gambhir, noting: "I've played with him. He was a great guy with a lot of respect for me and the senior players. Even now, I can see he is extremely passionate about his job." Regarding Gambhir's future as coach, Ganguly expressed support for his development: "I wish him all the best. He's just a year into the job, and this will be an important (England) tour. He struggled a bit in Australia, but just like everyone else, he'll learn, he'll grow, and he'll become better." IND vs ENG: ‘Same impact as Sir Richard Hadlee'- Sanjay Manjrekar lauds Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah (Photo by) Jasprit Bumrah emerged as India's standout performer on Day 2 of the Leeds Test, claiming all three England wickets while his teammates struggled. As England reached 209/3 at stumps, Bumrah's figures of 3/48 highlighted his effectiveness on a day when the rest of India's bowling attack appeared ineffective at Headingley. Bumrah's victims included Zak Crawley, who fell early for 4 runs, followed by Ben Duckett for 62 and Joe Root for 28. The dismissal of Root proved particularly crucial in the context of the game. Former India cricketer and JioHotstar expert Sanjay Manjrekar praised Bumrah's performance, drawing parallels with New Zealand legend Sir Richard Hadlee. "We've seen four hundreds in the match so far -- three from India and one from England -- but which bowler has been truly special? For me, it's just Bumrah," Manjrekar said on 'Match Centre Live' after Day 2's play. 04:54 India lose momentum on Day 2 | England Fight Back at Headingley "Just the ability to manufacture a wicket every time he came into the attack is what stands out. The one bowler that comes to mind, someone with that kind of impact single-handedly, is Sir Richard Hadlee. He played for a New Zealand team with a relatively weaker attack, but every time he came on, you felt a wicket was around the corner," Manjrekar observed. Quiz: Who's that IPL player?
