Cynthia Erivo and The Vivienne among ‘LGBT+ changemakers' in 2025 Pride List
Wicked actress Cynthia Erivo and drag queen The Vivienne are among the stars who feature on a list 'celebrating the most influential LGBT+ changemakers of the past year'.
The Independent's Pride List for 2025 also includes retired Olympic diver Tom Daley, actor Bella Ramsey, artist David Hockney, comedian Joe Lycett and author Juno Dawson.
Erivo, 38, who won a Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (Glaad) Award earlier in the year, was placed at number four on the top 10 list while The Vivienne, the drag alter-ego of the late James Lee Williams, is seventh.
The Vivienne, who won the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK and spoke publicly about prejudices faced by LGBT+ people and by the drag community, died in January at the age of 32 and is a posthumous inclusion on the list.
Topping the 2025 Pride List is Victoria McCloud, a lawyer, former judge and transgender woman who announced she would take the Government to the European Court of Human Rights over the Supreme Court's ruling on the definition of a woman.

Dr McCloud said: 'I'm delighted and honoured that The Independent has included me in its Pride List this year.
'In 2025, more than ever before, amidst increasing oppression and segregation at home, with court and state against us, people from the trans community yearn to be bathed in rainbow light.
'These are uniquely dark times but we will challenge those who wish to marginalise us, be they Government or activists with money and the odd mega-yacht to spare.
'We have been here for centuries; we will be here for centuries to come. The quiet majority walk with us.'
In April the UK's highest court unanimously ruled that the terms woman and sex in the Equality Act 'refer to a biological woman and biological sex'.
Chloe Hubbard, UK editor of The Independent, said: 'We are proud to champion our most influential LGBT+ changemakers once again on our annual Pride List in a year where the community has been further marginalised on both sides of the Atlantic.
'Visibility and pride within the queer community feels more vital than ever and we are dedicated to continuing to occupy our unique place in the media on LGBT+ issues.'
In 2023, The Independent relaunched its Rainbow List as the Pride List, to recognise 50 extraordinary 'LGBT+ changemakers'.
The 2024 list included Doctor Who and Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa, commentator and former England footballer Alex Scott, Wicked and Bridgerton actor Jonathan Bailey and screenwriter Russell T Davies.
To mark the publication of its Pride List, The Independent will host an event at Queer Britain on June 11.

Ezra Miller considers returning to Hollywood: 'Solitude has been friendly to me'
Two years after Ezra Miller's last screen role and three years after a barrage of legal issues, including criminal charges and harassment allegations, The Flash star is eyeing a return. In 2022, Miller faced accusations of assault, abuse, and grooming children, and was subject of arrest for disorderly conduct, which led to a string of subsequent arrests, often following physical altercations. Certain charges, like their 2023 burglary charge in the state of Vermont, have been dropped due to plea deals Miller has struck in multiple states. Miller has since apologized for their behavior, noting in a statement provided to Entertainment Weekly that they were in "a time of intense crisis," as well as "suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment." Three years from that period of "crisis," Miller is "really, really grateful for the lessons that came with that abyss." 18,600 tickets a minute sold at peak of EuroMillions £208 million jackpot
The National Lottery sold 18,600 tickets a minute on June 6 at the peak of the record £208 million EuroMillions jackpot draws, operator Allwyn said. The most recent run of EuroMillions draws lasting more than 10 weeks generated both the highest ever UK sales of more than £550 million and the biggest ever returns to Good Causes in the history of the game. The series of 21 draws – the second-longest in EuroMillions history – raised £190 million for Good Causes. Good Causes allocates the money in the form of grants to community, cultural, heritage, and sports projects. They started on April 8 and ended on June 17 when a single winner in Ireland scooped the £208 million jackpot. Allwyn chief executive Andria Vidler said: 'For our winners and players, Good Causes beneficiaries and our retail partners, this EuroMillions draw series was a record-breaker that is going to change the lives of tens of thousands of people across the UK. Nothing Headphone 1 leaks show quirky translucent design
While Nothing is gearing up to officially unveil its first over-ear headphones next week, leaked images and videos have given us a good idea of what they look like. The Nothing Headphone 1 sports an unusual design that appears consistently across leaks from multiple sources, featuring a squircle earcup with the company's signature transparent elements and support for what looks like a 3.5mm audio cable. Nothing announced in a video last month that it would be launching over-ear headphones in 'summer 2025,' but remained largely tight-lipped about what to expect. What little was teased — including Nothing's Tom Ridley saying the company was making 'a more interesting looking pair of headphones that say something about you,' and Adam Bates suggesting its buttons would feature distinct designs for each control function — appears to have been realized in these design leaks. Images shared by Nothing_fan_blog on Instagram show that the earcups for the Nothing Headphone 1 resemble a couple of quirky cassette tapes, and true to Bates' word, there appear to be multiple buttons to control the music. The images show the headphones in black or silver colorways, and branding for 'Nothing Headphone 1' and 'Sound by KEF' on either earcup. Videos shared on X by Arsène Lupin also show two people at a private brand event trying out the headphones with what looks like a 3.5mm wired connection. That cable could introduce improved audio performance (compared with Bluetooth) that doesn't require a battery when connected to compatible sources. It won't be long before we get official confirmation about the Headphone 1 design, specs, and price. According to comments made by Nothing CEO Carl Pei at the London SXSW conference, it's set to be announced on July 1st alongside the brand's incoming flagship phone, the Phone 3.
