SCCL invites applications for Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme

As part of its efforts to help aspirants preparing for the Civil Services Examination from Telangana, the Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has invited online applications from those who have cleared the Prelims recently, for the ₹1 lakh each financial assistance scheme introduced by the company last year with its Corporate Social Responsibility fund.
Chairman and Managing Director of SCCL N. Balaram said on Friday that the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme launched last year had achieved encouraging results. This year, children of SCCL workers who cleared Prelims would also receive ₹1 lakh each assistance.
Last year, 140 candidates, not the children of SCCL workers, who cleared the Prelims were extended the ₹1 lakh each financial assistance. Of them, 20 went on to qualify for the Mains and were selected for the Interviews. An additional ₹1 lakh each was provided to those who were selected for the Interviews and among them, seven candidates had successfully cleared the Civil Services Examination, Mr. Balaram said.
The SCCL is inviting applications in the hope that more candidates would succeed and go on to serve the State and the country, Mr. Balaram said, advising the aspirants to visit the SCCL website at www.scclmines.com to apply online for the financial assistance, starting from June 23.

Singareni selected for prestigious ICWAI Award

Hyderabad, June 18 (UNI) State-owned Singareni has been selected for the prestigious Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) award. This national level recognition has been received for cost control measures implemented by Singareni. ICMAI, a prestigious statutory body established under an Act of Parliament, has selected Singareni for its annual national-level award. For the year 2024, Singareni has been selected for the National Award for Excellence in Cost Management – 3rd Prize, as confirmed by ICMAI President CMA Bibhuti Bhushan Nayak. He stated that a jury panel, led by Justice S J Mukhopadhaya, retired Supreme Court Judge, and Chairperson of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), selected the best companies, which includes SCCL. The award will be presented at a ceremony scheduled to be held on June 23 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. On the same day, award recipients have also been invited to participate in the 12th National Students' Convocation, to be held in the morning at Vigyan Bhavan, where President Droupadi Murmu will be the chief guest. Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N Balram expressed his happiness over Singareni being awarded third place among several mega public sector industries in the country. He stated that this award is a recognition of the collective efforts of the employees and officers of Singareni. PNB inks pact with Singareni Collieries to launch salary saving scheme

Public sector lender Punjab National Bank has signed an MoU with The Singareni Collieries Company to launch PNB Salary Saving Scheme whose feature included a ₹1.25 crore accidental insurance coverage for SCCL employees. The agreement was signed in Hyderabad recently in the presence of PNB MD and CEO Ashok Chandra, other senior officials from both organisations among others, the bank said in a release on Monday. Besides the personal accidental insurance, the scheme offers term life insurance cover of up to ₹10 lakh; air accidental insurance of up to ₹2.50 crore; permanent total disability cover of up to ₹1.25 crore and family centric benefits including zero balance accounts for spouse and 2 children. It also offers a host of additional banking benefits, including concessions on interest rates, documentation and upfront charges in retail loans. 'The agreement with SCCL will serve as a model for other sectors. The customised scheme is now effective for SCCL employees and we are committed to extend similar comprehensive coverage to other industries soon,' Mr. Chandra said.
