PUBS have been granted extra time to stay open if the Lionesses reach this year's Euros semi-finals.
MPs have agreed to allow bars to sell alcohol until 1am if either England or Wales play in the European Championship semi-finals or finals next month.

Policing minister Dame Diana Johnson said venues "stand to benefit" from the later closing time, which is extended from the usual 11pm cut-off.
Tory MP Andrew Snowden joked that his father might "disown" him, had his party not backed the Government's proposal.
The Lionesses were hailed as "inspirational" when they won the same tournament in 2022, beating fierce rivals Germany 2-1 in front of a sold-out Wembley Stadium.
Substitute Chloe Kelly fired the Lionesses to glory — and tore off her shirt to celebrate as the nation erupted in joy.

But pubs have been warned that they will have to stick to their ordinary timings if neither team manages to reach the final stages of the "prestigious tournament".
The semi-finals are set to take place on July 22 and 23, with the final on July 27.
Speaking in the Commons today, Dame Diana said: "[Pubs] stand to benefit from this modest extension which would allow them to accommodate increased demand during these high-profile fixtures.
"If neither England nor Wales reach the semi-finals, the proposed extension will not apply on July 22 or 23.
"Similarly, if one or both teams reach the semi-finals but do not progress to the final, normal licensing hours will apply on July 27.
"I have to say, from my limited following of football, it seems like the women's teams have a reputation for doing far better than our male teams.

"I fully accept that the hospitality sector has had a difficult time over the last few years and this is a helpful measure.
"It is right to acknowledge as well that police representatives have expressed some concerns regarding the potential for increased crime and disorder.
"Now, whilst operational decisions on deployment and resourcing are a matter for individual forces, I am confident that appropriate measures will be taken to mitigate any risks, as has happened in similar cases.
"Notably, there have been no significant incidents of large-scale disorder linked to previous licensing extensions, which I think is testament to the professionalism of our police service, to whom we owe our thanks."
Mr Snowden, the MP for Fylde, said the Conservatives were "delighted" to support the temporary changes.
He added: "I don't think I would have much choice on this matter, as if I ever stood at this dispatch box and opposed more time in the pub to watch football, my dad would probably disown me.
"We are the defending champions of the Women's Uefa cup after England's magnificent performance at the 2022 tournament hosted here in the UK at Wembley.
"The final saw a 2-1 victory, and of course in football, it was made all the sweeter by beating the Germans.
"So this is a fantastic time to support your local as well as your national."
England and Wales face each other on July 13, with both nations in Group D alongside France and the Netherlands.
The Lionesses will face France on July 5 when Wales play the Netherlands.
On July 9, England will play the Netherlands while Wales face France.

England women's star cleared of drugs charge ahead of Euro 2025 - 'I'm relieved'

England and Manchester City goalkeeper Khiara Keating has seen charges of drug possession dropped by Greater Manchester Police. Charges of drug possession against England goalkeeper Khiara Keating have been dropped by Greater Manchester Police. The Manchester City keeper, 20, was charged last June along with her mother, Nicola Keating, 48, with possession of cannisters of the Class C drug nitrous oxide. Both pleaded not guilty at Manchester Magistrates' Court and were granted unconditional bail. The Crown Prosecution Service duly discontinued the case, Greater Manchester Police confirmed. ‌ Both women had been charged with possession of a Class C drug on 18 June last year following a police investigation. The pair appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court in July, where they denied the offence and were granted unconditional bail. ‌ At a second hearing in September, they reaffirmed their pleas, and a trial was scheduled for November 2025 but the case has now been dismissed. Keating, who is part of England's European Championship squad, said in a statement to the BBC: 'I'm relieved the charges have been dropped — as I've always said, I did nothing wrong. 'It's been a difficult time, but I've always known the truth. Now I'm just looking forward to focusing fully on the Euros and spending time with my family.' Nitrous oxide was made a Class C drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act in November 2023. Possession with the intention of wrongfully inhaling it for a psychoactive effect became an offence. The gas can still be used for legitimate reasons, such as in catering or pain relief during labour. Keating will travel to the Euros as a back-up to England's new first-choice keeper Hannah Hampton. Keating has yet to make her senior England debut but was included in Sarina Wiegman's 23-player squad despite her lack of experience. She played just 12 times for City in last season's Women's Super League, conceding 18 goals and keeping four clean sheets. The previous year she became the youngest player to win the Women's Super League Golden Glove award, keeping nine clean sheets in 22 league appearances. SPFL club forced to cancel friendly against Scottish Premiership side due to stadium repairs

Morton were due to host St Mirren in a non-competitive clash on Tuesday, July 8, with both teams looking to step up their preparations for the Premier Sports Cup which gets underway just a few days later. Several corrugated iron panels on the roof had blown off as the West coast of Scotland was hit by gale force winds. Morton have still yet to fix the damage but the club tonight confirmed that repair work will begin next week. However, the friendly cannot be played while the construction takes place. A statement from the Scottish Championship club read: "The club are pleased to confirm that the long-awaited works to repair the Cowshed Roof begin on Monday. "It is expected that works will continue throughout most of July and be completed by the start of the William Hill Championship season when we welcome Dunfermline to Cappielow on 2nd August. "Following discussions with our contractor, the pre-season match scheduled against St Mirren on Tuesday 8th July has now been cancelled. "We confirm the Premier Sports Cup tie versus Stenhousemuir, due to be played at Cappielow on 15th July, will go ahead but without supporters in the Cowshed. "We will provide an update on that in due course. "We thank supporters in advance for their understanding on this matter, and look forward to having the Cowshed back in full working order for the 2025/26 William Hill Championship campaign." A statement from St Mirren said: 'Morton have today informed us that they will no longer be able to host the planned Communities Cup friendly match at Cappielow on Tuesday 8th July. 'With the match now cancelled, the club is looking at alternative options to aid our preparations for the Premier Sports Cup group stages and will update when possible.'
