The Shreveport City Marshal's Office is hosting its annual amnesty day later this month.
On Saturday, June 21, the Shreveport City Marshal's Office will host its annual Amnesty Day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Shreveport City Courthouse.
This will allow anyone who has outstanding warrants through the Shreveport City Court to have their warrants recalled and a new court date scheduled without fear of being arrested or additional fees.
Also, anyone with delinquent fines can get a new payment schedule.
According to the marshal's office, this is only for warrants and fines issued through Shreveport City Courts. Warrants that involve Domestic Abuse Battery, Battery of a Dating Partner, DWI's and probation will not be recalled and must post a bond.
Marshal James Jefferson encourages anyone who thinks that they may have an outstanding warrant or delinquent fines to take advantage of this opportunity.
Individuals must come in person with their ID.
More: Three more escaped New Orleans inmates have been caught, while two still remain at large

UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich arrested again, held without bond

Just weeks after he cut a probation deal following a 2023 DWI arrest, and not long after a 30-day jail sentence, UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich has been arrested again. Miletich was booked into the Scott County (Iowa) jail Friday and is being held there, currently without bond, for his third operating while intoxicated offense – a felony. In April, the 59-year-old Miletich pleaded guilty to a DWI charge from September 2023 and was given two years probation. Miletich also was ordered to complete a drunk driving education course. In March, Miletich had another incident while driving with a revoked license and pled not guilty. That case still is pending. In 2021, after his involvement in the Jan. 6 insurrection attempt at the U.S. Capitol, the LFA fired him from its broadcast team. His involvement in MMA since then has been minimal – though he did take a politically charged fight against Mike Jackson in 2023. For that fight, he arrived at the press conference just hours after the arrest for which he just made the probation deal. He lost that fight when he didn't answer the bell in the third round. Miletich first became known for becoming UFC welterweight champion and his Miletich Fighting Systems gym in Iowa that produced several UFC champions. But in recent years, the narrative around him shifted to focus on his right-wing conspiracy theory stances online and his multiple DUIs and regular run-ins with the law, typically involving intoxication allegations while driving.

Jon Jones says 'reflection' led to UFC retirement –\u00a0as news breaks of more legal trouble

In his social media history, Jon Jones has earned a reputation for tweeting, then deleting. But it seems like this one will stick. Saturday, not long after UFC CEO Dana White announced Jones had called him to announce his retirement the night before, Jones posted on social media to confirm he has decided to walk away from the sport. Jones (28-1 MMA, 22-1 UFC) had been playing a cat-and-mouse game with interim champion Tom Aspinall, who has been elevated to undisputed champion. After White's announcement at the UFC on ABC 8 post-fight news conference, Jones posted a message saying he was leaving "after a lot of reflection." But not long after that post, news broke online from the Albuquerque Journal, the largest news outlet in the city Jones has lived and trained in for years, that Jones once again is in legal trouble. According to the report, there is a criminal summons accusing Jones of leaving the scene of an accident. He is scheduled for a bond arraignment July 24, the Journal reported. The details of the criminal complaint reported by the Journal include accusations that Jones left the scene of a crash with a half-naked and intoxicated woman in the car, and when reached by phone, a man thought to be Jones made "allusions to violence" to multiple police officials. After the crash, according to the police complaint, Jones called the woman's phone more than a dozen times and also sent text messages. The woman said she drank at Jones' house and took mushrooms there, then next recalled being in a car crash after Jones allegedly was driving. In 2015, Jones was arrested for a felony hit-and-run involving a pregnant woman. He pled guilty to leaving the scene of an accident. He had a DWI conviction in 2012. He had another in 2020 that came with gun charges, later dropped in a plea deal, in the early days of the COVID pandemic. Jones is the first fighter in UFC history to twice be stripped of titles, and he threw in a third for good measure. The first was for his hit-and-run while he was light heavyweight champion. The second was for his first doping violation the following year. In a rematch win over Daniel Cormier in 2017, he failed a drug test for steroids in California and was suspended again – and stripped of a title again. In 2021, after a domestic violence arrest in Las Vegas the night after he went into the UFC Hall of Fame, his longtime team at JacksonWink MMA in Albuquerque gave him the boot and no longer wanted to be associated with him. He was sentenced to anger management classes in 2024 after an alleged altercation with a drug sample collection agent. In 2019, he pled no contest to charges of battery against a strip club waitress. His supporters, of course, say that he also won fights – which is true. He was the youngest champion in UFC history at 23 and holds a host of promotional records. His retirement statement, below, said he had gratitude for his "journey."

Knife-wielding illegal migrant who threatened to slit throat of US Attorney had previous busts for threatening someone, DWI

The knife-wielding illegal immigrant who allegedly chased down a US Attorney in New York while threatening to slit his throat had previous busts for threatening another person and driving while intoxicated, according to the Department of Homeland Security. Saul Morales-Garcia — an illegal migrant from El Salvador who was previously deported and snuck back into the country illegally — had already racked up an unsettling rap sheet before he allegedly threatened John Sarcone, the President Trump-appointed US attorney for the Northern District of New York, outside the Hilton Hotel in Albany Tuesday night. 3 Mugshot of Saul Morales-Garcia. Albany County Sheriff's Office 'The alien in question illegally entered our country twice, was deported, returned, and has since been committing crimes across the country,' Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement Friday. Morales-Garcia, 40, was previously collared in 2009 in Arlington, Virginia, and convicted of misdemeanor petit larceny and sentenced to 12 months in prison, according to DHS. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents then nabbed Morales-Garcia in 2010 and he was deported shortly thereafter. But the criminal migrant snuck his way back in sometime between April 21, 2010 and Dec. 10, 2021, DHS said. 3 U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York John A. Sarcone III was appointed by the Trump administration. Houston Chronicle via Getty Images He then turned up in Georgia in 2021, when he was arrested and charged with a DWI. A couple of years later, in 2023, Morales-Garcia was picked up by the US Parks Police and charged with disorderly conduct for physically threatening, being drunk in public and possession of an open container, according to DHS. He was arrested again in 2024 by cops in Upper Merion, Pennsylvania, and charged with misdemeanor retail theft. 3 The illegal immigrant allegedly lunged at the US Attorney with a knife. Albany County Sheriff's Office His lawless streak continued, and he was collared this week after he allegedly chased Sarcone down the street outside his Albany hotel just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, WNYT reported, citing Albany County prosecutors. Morales-Garcia charged at the US attorney while clutching a blade and gesturing that he would slit his throat. Sarcone was uninjured and Morales-Garcia was picked up by Albany County sheriff's deputies just moments after the frightening alleged attack, according to local cops. Morales-Garcia was charged with attempted second-degree murder and is being held without bail, the Albany Times Union reported. Meanwhile, Homeland Security Investigations is also seeking to charge Morales-Garcia with illegal re-entry into the US, which could accelerate his second deportation. ICE has also lodged a detainer to take him into federal custody, DHS said. Morales-Garcia 'should have never been in our country in the first place—and now, he will face attempted murder in the second-degree charges and removal,' McLaughlin said in the Friday statement. 'Make no mistake: Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, ICE is focused on removing the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from Americans' communities,' she added. The alleged attempted slasher was also previously convicted of a felony in El Salvador, WNYT reported, citing investigators. Attorney General Pam Bondi appointed Sarcone to the Northern District of New York in March. The Pace University graduate is a native New Yorker with a 'humble, blue-collar background,' who was raised in Croton-on-Hudson, Sarcone said in a statement after his appointment.
