An events organiser has issued a public apology after facing backlash from a local community who labelled their "unforgettable" family fun festival a "shambles."
Several people posted on social media after attending the "High Octane Family Fest Weekender" at Ffos Las Racecourse in Trimsaran writing "do not attend", and posting pictures of the "funfair." Some attendees said they lasted "20 minutes max" before heading back to the car with one man saying that the event was a "total rip-off" and a "shambles".
The event was advertised to include balloon displays, night glow shows, live music, stunt teams, fairground rides, roaming characters, great food, hot air balloons and monster trucks.
Robyn Morgan took her family to the event on Saturday, May 24. She said the event was "absolutely shocking" and wrote "please don't waste your money, we lasted 15 minutes."
"There is one ramp for the BMX bikes. Teacups, trampolines, one ride and a crazy maze. One burger van, one sweet stall, one ice cream van, and you can see it all stood in one place.
The event organiser said it would be "unforgettable".

"Balloon baskets were there but not inflating balloons, a character stitch walking round, no music, no atmosphere."
"Such a waste of time and wouldn't really keep the kids entertained. They shouldn't be able to get away with advertising this and certainly shouldn't be charging for tickets.
"I've seen more entertainment at a morgue. It is absolutely shocking."
Robyn's complaints were echoed by over 100 other commenters, and High Octane Events has responded with the following apology.
A spokesperson posted this on their Facebook page: "A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the Ffos Las event this weekend! We truly appreciate your support and energy, it means everything to the High Octane Events team.
"Unfortunately, the poor weather impacted our schedule and some parts of the show didn't go ahead as planned. We completely understand that this may have been disappointing for some of you, and we want to sincerely apologise if the experience fell short of expectations.
"If you were unhappy with any part of the event, please don't hesitate to message us directly - we're here to listen and make things right wherever we can.
"Thank you again for being part of the High Octane Events community. We're already working hard to make the next one even better!"
The event was on across the Bank Holiday weekend, May 24-26, between 10am and 8pm each day.

Tickets were being sold on Friday in a "flash sale" for £3 each but adult attendees who bought their tickets more in advance are believed to have paid between £13 and £30 for entry.
Many attendees responded to their apology asking for a reply to their messages and emails asking for a refund. Lots of these people are still awaiting a response, and are advising each other that the best way to receive compensation would be to claim through the bank, as "they didn't provide what you paid for."
High Octane Events have deleted some of their posts about the event, as well as many of the negative comments they received over the weekend.

DANCE OFF Iconic UK festival attracting millions each year 'faces axe without more cash as it makes urgent appeal for help' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THE FUTURE of an iconic UK festival could be in jeopardy unless the government steps in organisers have warned. Millions travel to the Notting Hill Carnival in London each year to join in with the iconic, colourful celebrations. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 The festival has come under fire amid concerns for public safety Credit: Alamy In a leaked letter to Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy festival chiefs asked for an urgent handout to keep the world famous event going, the BBC reports. It comes after a review of the festival identified "critical public safety concerns" that needed more money to address. Notting Hill Carnival attracts a whopping 2 million revellers a year but has come under fire recently after public safety concerns were raised. Carnival Chair Ian Comfort said in the letter: "The April 2025 London Assembly report, external highlights the increasing strain placed on the Metropolitan Police during large-scale public events. "Limited resourcing has restricted the police service's ability to respond to growing operational pressures." He went on to say that without immediate additional funding "risks compromising public safety and jeopardising the future of the carnival." The full findings of the safety review have not been made public yet. Held annually over the August Bank Holiday weekend last year's Carnival saw a woman tragically stabbed to death amid chaotic scenes. Cher Maximen, who was 32, was with friends and her daughter just off the Carnival parade route on Sunday, 25 August 2024 when she was caught up in a violent fight involving multiple men. Maximen was stabbed and tragically died in hospital six days later. The shocking incident sparked widespread concern around the safety of Notting Hill Carnival. Notting Hill revellers hit streets in fabulous feathers as party gets underway The Met Police's Assistant Commissioner has raised concerns over a "mass casualty event" due to density of the massive crowds attracted by the festivities. Without funding to help make the event safer chief's have warned it may not be able to go ahead. In the leaked letter carnival chair Ian Comfort asked for further funding to support increased stewarding and crowd management. Mr Comfort has reportedly not asked for a specific amount of funding. If his request is granted it will mark the first time direct government funding has been provided to the event. During last year's carnival around 7,000 police officers were on duty to help keep festival goers safe.

Katie Price sends son Harvey back to college early after he 'smashes' £3k TV
Katie Price previously revealed that Harvey is "on the verge of a heart attack" after tipping the scales at 30 stone Katie Price has revealed that her son Harvey had to return to college earlier than planned after he wrecked her telly. The ex-glamour model took to Snapchat to recount the episode in which her eldest boy "smashed" the £3,000 set. Harvey, aged 23, left his mum gobsmacked when his tantrum resulted in the need for a fresh TV. The mother of five relayed the tale to her social media fans before explaining to her son the repercussions of his behaviour. In the video, Katie captured Harvey, who is visually impaired due to septo-optic dysplasia, a brain development disorder, and also has autism and Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that can lead to overeating. She described being roused by the noise of the telly breaking at six in the morning. In the footage, Katie, 47, enquired: "What has mummy just heard?" To which Harvey calmly responded: "Smashing the TV." Asking more about what happened, Harvey claimed something on the screen had annoyed him. However, she later expressed scepticism to her followers, saying nothing was probably on the screen at the time, reports the Mirror. Katie then informed Harvey: "You was going to college tomorrow to get some new meds [medication], but now when are you going? You are going now." A downcast Harvey uttered: "Oh god," as his mum clarified that she needed to send him back so she could sort out a new telly for the house. She labelled the whole scenario as "sad". Later, Harvey said sorry to the former glamour model and promised it wouldn't occur again. Katie insisted to her son: "Well you've got to go to collage now and get some meds." Katie commemorated Harvey's 23rd birthday last month with a heartfelt display of affection. She posted a lovely snapshot on Instagram showing her and Harvey cosying up in bed before his birthday festivities. On Bank Holiday Monday, Katie shared her delight over Harvey reaching another milestone on her Instagram stories. The charming post featured the pair lying cheek-to-cheek in bed, having a leisurely day relaxing at home. Brimming with anticipation for the celebration ahead, Katie said: "Bank holiday cuddles before lots of celebrations tomorrow." It comes amid Katie's transparency about Harvey's escalating health issues as he tipped the scales at 30 stone. In a frank conversation with her sister Sophie on The Katie Price Show, Katie did not shy away from discussing the gravity of their circumstances. "He's just under 30st and that's huge," she disclosed. "He's on the verge of a heart attack. He won't have a long life if he carries on putting more and more weight on." Katie then revealed that they are actively collaborating with a medical team to attempt to improve his health. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
