2025 NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees include Jared Allen, Antonio Gates
This year's NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame class only featured four former players, a bit of a surprise considering how big last year's class was.
However, these four players are icons in the game, from one of the best tight ends to ever play the game to one of the most ferocious pass-rushers ever to sack opposing quarterbacks. The honorees were unveiled during Thursday night's NFL Honors ceremony in New Orleans.
While there were no quarterbacks inducted in this year's class, these four players were very deserving to have themselves enshrined in Canton among the game's best talents.
Let's look at this year's Pro Football Hall of Fame class and recall last year's class while we're at it, too.

Michael Irvin Pulling For Deion Sanders After Home Visit
Michael Irvin Pulling For Deion Sanders After Home Visit originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Deion Sanders has said he'll be returning to Boulder ahead of the Colorado Buffaloes 2025 season. However, there is no timeline on when as he continues to deal with an unknown health issue at his estate in Texas. Advertisement Sanders got a visit from his Pro Football Hall of Fame teammate Michael Irvin last week. The Dallas Cowboys legend spoke briefly on Coach Prime's health during an episode of his podcast after seeing him. "Whenever I'm with him, we laugh like I don't know what," Irvin said. "This is my boy. I battled with this dude. I know how strong this dude is. I know how he is. He's physically strong, mentally strong, emotionally strong. He's strong. And we've had battles, and I respect him as a giant." Sanders has dealt with notable health issues over the past five years. He hasn't been at full strength, but Irvin left feeling confident Sanders will be back on track soon. "I've never seen Deion not want to battle," Irvin said. "I guarantee you he's going to be ok. That's the most important part." Irvin didn't explain what's going on with Sanders and will allow him to tell the world when's ready. Not much is known about what Coach Prime might be dealing with and it's unclear whether this latest round is related to the series of previous health issues, including blood clots in his lower extremities. Advertisement Sanders admitted to former NFL defensive back Asante Samuel that his latest illness caused him to lose 14 pounds. 'What I'm dealing with right now is a whole other level," Sanders said. Bill Belichick emails show why Jordon Hudson was at fateful CBS interview
There's now more clarity surrounding Bill Belichick's infamous April CBS interview in which Jordon Hudson made an extremely awkward cameo. WRAL News, a Raleigh, North Carolina-based outlet, obtained emails from UNC through a public records request that answered some of the lingering questions about Hudson's role in the UNC head coach's interview and her influence in their relationship. The interview was arranged for Belichick to promote his new book, 'The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football,' but things took a turn after the 73-year-old was asked how he and his 24-year-old girlfriend met, as Hudson interrupted and shut down the question. Advertisement An email from Belichick explained why Hudson was even there in the first place. 'Jordon was present at the CBS interview because David Kass, the Simon & Schuster publicist, was not there,' Belichick wrote in an email elaborating on Hudson's role at the interview and within the book. 'I included Jordon in the book acknowledgments because she was a creative contributor to the book, including having the idea for formatting the 4 special pages in the book.' Advertisement Belichick also added, 'Jordon and I have both a personal & professional relationship.' 'This is not a secret,' he wrote in an email. 'Jordon assists me with my personal media, which is why I asked UNC to forward media requests (E.G. CBS 60 Minutes) to her. Jordon has zero involvement in the UNC football program, beyond the degree that my personal media intersects with it.' 4 Bill Belichick is preparing for his first season as the head football coach of the UNC Tar Heels. Getty Images In the emails in the WRAL report, Belichick's focus was on the fact that Hudson was not stepping in as an angry and controlling girlfriend, but was coming in so as not to diminish the interview's true purpose: to promote the book. Advertisement 'For approximately 35 uninterrupted minutes, (the interviewer) Tony [Dokoupil] asked questions about the book,' Belichick wrote. 'Then, the questions shifted to other subjects that were not related to the Art of Winning, which we had outlined as off-limits with my book publicist.' Adding fuel to the fire, Belichick said CBS had set up a camera on Hudson, who deliberately sought a spot to sit off-camera — this was how the viral moments of Hudson were captured. Throughout the nightmare that became of the situation for Belichick and UNC, alumni were even emailing the university with their concern surrounding UNC becoming a 'laughing stock in the sports world because of his young girlfriend.' With all eyes on the relationship and the program for quite some time, Belichick's messages read, 'I don't want to make a wrong move here,' after the interview, as he and the university devised and later released a statement on April 30 to clear the air.

Saquon Barkley's viral moment draws a rare Barry Sanders response
Barry Sanders addresses Saquon Barkley's viral comments about early retirement. There may be no better compliment that can be given to a professional athlete than knowing one's idols are also fans of theirs. Imagine suiting up for a Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday and dominating. Imagine seeing a guy whose poster you once owned offering congratulations. Saquon Barkley is a student of the game, one who appreciates its history. At some point, he studied the legends like Walter Payton and Jim Brown. Last season, while in pursuit of Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record, he learned the Hall-of-Famer was a fan (even if he didn't want to see his record broken). Just this week, he learned of another, Barry Sanders. Barry Sanders offers Saquon Barkley some advice on post-retirement theory It wasn't necessarily the shot heard 'round the world or an internet breaker, but it was close. Saquon Barkley recently appeared on an episode of Green Light with Chris Long. Thoughts about early retirement were mentioned. As you can imagine, that caused quite a stir. Eventually, he'd speak with the media and did his best to ease the minds of a concerned Eagles fan base. Long story short, despite stating his eventual announcement might come as a "surprise", it appears he has no intention of calling it a career soon. An entire fan base wiped the sweat from its brow. Whew! That was close, but they've been watching his every move just in case. Enter Barry Sanders. Like Barkley, he sat for an interview of his own. As you might imagine, while speaking with CBS Sports' John Breech, the Barkley comments were revisited, and the 2004 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee offered some advice for the most recent entrant into the NFL's 2000-yard club. "(Saquon Barkley) should stick around for a little while. As a fan, I'm enjoying watching him play. I still see him as still being very young. I'm excited with what he's been able to do in Philadelphia, and really, just his journey. He was written off by the Giants, and to see the kind of year he had last year, I know he still has a lot of great years left in him." Raise those hands if you're hoping that Saquon is reading the same stuff we are. Barkley had previously mentioned Sanders' decision to retire unexpectedly while speaking with Chris Long. "Sometimes, players feel that (way), and once they get into camp and into the season, they feel different. Philadelphia feels like a great place, a great home for him, so hopefully it's just sort of a temporary thing that he's experiencing, that he'll continue to enjoy the success there with that great team that they've assembled." Barkley signed a three-year, $37.75 million deal with Philadelphia on March 13, 2024. He inked a two-year $41.2 million extension this past March, so if the math is correct (and he's interested), we're guaranteed four more years of this marriage. Frankly, no one wants to see this arrangement end anytime soon. This is too much fun. Listen to the G.O.A.T. Saquon! There's no reason to walk away from this prematurely.
