‘Totally normal day in Florida': Barefoot man wrestles giant alligator on busy highway in viral video
A video shared by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has equally stunned and terrified people. It captures a barefoot man wrestling a giant alligator after it wandered onto a highway in Florida.
'If you were cruising down I-95/I-295 on the Southside yesterday and thought you saw a barefoot man wrestling a giant alligator in the median—nope, your eyes weren't playing tricks on you. That really happened,' the department wrote.
'Your #JSO joined forces with Florida Fish & Wildlife, the Florida Highway Patrol and none other than local gator-wrangling legend, the Blue Collar Brawler, to wrangle this beast off the road and keep everyone safe. Just another totally normal day in the Sunshine State,' they added.
People posted varied remarks, from expressing their wonder to sharing how the video scared them. A few pointed out how spotting an interaction between an alligator and a man makes for a 'Totally normal day in Florida.'
An individual joked, 'Bruh was happier than a barefooted kid at a chocolate factory to get down and dirty with that gator.' Another joined, 'So many questions… not enough hours in a day.' A third posted, 'I knew he was the right guy for the job when I saw he didn't have shoes on.' A fourth wrote, 'He's barefoot because usually gators are in mud and mucky water, no sense ruining a good pair of boots. (Totally a guess). This is so Florida.'
He is a former MMA fighter and an army veteran. He also holds a license as an alligator trapper. At the time of writing this report, he had over 3.8 lakh followers on Instagram. His videos often show him capturing alligators from various parts of Florida.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), alligators have inhabited the state's 'marshes, swamps, rivers and lakes for many centuries'. They are found in all 67 counties.
'Although many Floridians have learned to coexist with alligators, the potential for conflict always exists. Serious injuries caused by alligators are rare in Florida, but if you are concerned about an alligator, call FWC's toll-free Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 866-392-4286,' the organisation stated.
As per FWC, the first thing one should do is keep one's distance when they see an alligator. The agency also reminds people not to try and feed the reptiles. As alligators are most active between dusk and dawn, it is advised to swim during daylight hours and only in designated swimming areas.

Mumbai: The state on Friday informed Bombay high court that Kherwadi police station, Bandra East, registered an FIR against the president of a sports body on a complaint of sexual harassment by a woman athlete. They noticed a woman crying in court. Federation advocate Adil Parsurampuria said she was "the athlete concerned". The judges said "she had a story to tell. The woman athlete informed us she was being sexually harassed and suffered great anguish at the hands of Mr... She was compelled to reply to his Instagram and WhatsApp messages, and if she refused, she was threatened she would not be permitted to participate in any sport..." The woman complained to various authorities with proof of harassment, "but her every attempt was thwarted, and she was left to run from pillar to post for redressal of her grievance". Girl and her friend beat up and drug ex-boyfriend before throwing him into canal in Ludhiana.
Ludhiana: A young man was allegedly thrashed, drugged, and thrown into a canal by his ex-girlfriend and her current partner, prompting a police investigation in this district and a search for the suspects. The 20-year-old complainant, Harkirat Singh of Tungaheri village, told police that he was lured into meeting his former girlfriend, Jasleen Kaur of Siloani village, on June 18 after she messaged him on Instagram. Upon arriving in the Jodhan area, Harkirat Singh entered a parked car where Jasleen was waiting. She allegedly took his mobile phone under a pretext and engaged him in conversation. Soon after, their former schoolmate — reported to be Balkaran Singh of Jattpura village — arrived. Harkirat Singh claims Jasleen revealed to him she had been in a relationship with Balkaran for nine months. He alleges that the pair then assaulted him, attempted to strangle him with Jasleen's dupatta, and injected an unknown substance into his abdomen before dumping him in the nearby Siloani canal. Three booked for 67L visa fraud in Mota Varachha
Surat: Utran police have booked three persons for allegedly duping at least seven people of Rs 67 lakh under the pretext of securing foreign work and student visas. The accused — Nikunj Dudhat, Chirag Vataliya, and Ankit Vasani — were operating a consultancy firm named Gravitate Overseas Immigration from Mota Varachha. The complaint was filed by Darshit Patel, a bank employee who alleged that the trio promised him a Canadian work permit visa for Rs 25 lakh. Patel came across the firm's Instagram page in July 2023 and visited their office, where he was persuaded to pay Rs 5 lakh as an advance. He received no official receipt, only a WhatsApp message confirming the payment. When no visa materialised, Patel was allegedly offered a New Zealand visa instead for Rs 18 lakh, for which he paid another Rs 5 lakh. After repeated delays and no results, Patel suspected fraud and returned to the office, where he encountered other victims with similar complaints. According to police, the accused cheated multiple clients with false promises and collected large sums of money without delivering any visa services. Other victims include Pinkesh Patel (Rs 11 lakh), Maulik Virani (Rs 10 lakh), Chirag Paladiya (Rs 5 lakh), Darshit Vachhani (Rs 13 lakh), Jaydeep Barochiya (Rs 9 lakh), and Akshay Patel (Rs 9.50 lakh). Further investigation is underway.
