Woman sexually assaulted on Cole Harbour trail

A 44-year-old woman was attacked on a trail Tuesday night in Cole Harbour, N.S.
The RCMP said the woman was walking on the trail between Poplar Drive and Cranberry Crescent around 9 p.m. AT when she was approached from behind, assaulted and then sexually assaulted.
The woman managed to fight off her attacker and suffered minor injuries, police said in a news release Friday.
Police described the suspect as a man who is six feet tall, approximately 230 pounds with brown eyes. At the time of the attack, police said he had a goatee and was wearing a black hoodie with a white logo and a black ball cap.
Police are looking to speak with anyone who may know more about this incident or have video surveillance footage of the area.

Breanne Brown in a statement. 'The Alberta RCMP does not stop investigating in these circumstances and our team continues to work to bring Twyla home. I can assure you that our investigators pour their hearts into these investigations and are committed to providing answers to victim's families regardless of how much time has passed.'

Police said it happened in the parking lot of 9737 Yonge Street, south of Major Mackenzie Drive East, just before 12:30 a.m. There was an altercation between the victim and two individuals, which resulted in him being stabbed, police said. He was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. No suspect information has been released. Police are asking anyone with information to call 905-830-0303 ext. 7200.
