Claiming victory on a back-nine countback, Valentine edged out a strong field of 84 players to earn the top honour on the Fire course. 'I struck the ball well today and felt in control throughout the round,' said Valentine. 'The Fire course was in fantastic shape, and I'm really proud of my score of seven net birdies and a net eagle certainly helped!' Valentine's triumph headlined a day of top-tier competition, as Jumeirah Golf Estates hosted its monthly tournament in partnership with Unique Holding. Ideal early-summer conditions and the pristine quality of the Fire course - thanks to the outstanding work of the Agronomy team - set the stage for strong performances across all divisions. Schoombie Takes Gross Medal In the Gross Medal Division, Mark Schoombie fired an impressive three-under 69 to take the title, just ahead of Tom Neale, whose 70 was edged out on countback. Division A (handicap index 10.4 and below) saw Tom Morgans take the top spot with a net 68, finishing just ahead of Adam James (69) and Priyan De Mel (71). Joshua Burton delivered a standout round of net 67 in Division B (handicap index 10.5 and above), narrowly missing the overall title to Valentine on countback. Despite hot and testing conditions, the atmosphere remained upbeat and competitive as players of all ages and divisions rose to the challenge. Luke Gregory emerged as the day's overall champion, carding a stellar four-under-par net 68 to clinch the May 2025 Medalford title. 'The course was in fantastic condition this morning,' Gregory said after his win. 'I'm grateful to the team and sponsors for putting on such a great event.' In the Gross Medal Division, Jayson Hilton produced the standout round of the day — a composed level-par 72 — to claim top honours as the only player to shoot even par. Ronan Keating followed closely behind with a solid 75, taking runner-up on a back-nine countback. Narrow Miss for Stewart Division A (handicap index 10.4 and below) saw Martin Stewart match Gregory's net 68, narrowly missing out on the overall title via countback.
