Titans' cornerback L'Jarius Sneed denies civil suit allegations
One of the major offseason moves made by the Tennessee Titans in 2024 was bringing in cornerback L'Jarius Sneed. Drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020, they placed a franchise tag on him at the end of his rookie contract. The Titans sent two draft picks to Kansas City for Sneed and a seventh-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
Sneed appeared in five games for the Titans before injuring his quad and being placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the season. In December, Sneed was at the scene of an incident at a car dealership that resulted in alleged gunshots being fired. Earlier this month, a civil suit was filed against Sneed regarding the incident.
In the suit, Christian Nshimiyimana alleges that he, Sneed, and Sneed's personal assistant arrived at One Legacy Motors car dealership at the same time. Sneed reportedly came back later in a rented Lamborghini Urus and fired out of the vehicle at the dealership. There were no injuries, but the suit alleges that dealership vehicles and the building were hit by bullets.
Nshimiyimana seeks damages worth over $1 million in compensation for fees, relief for infliction of bodily injury, threat of bodily injury, intentional infliction of emotional distress, civil conspiracy, and negligence. Sneed's lawyer vehemently denies these claims.
'Defendant is not liable as alleged by Plaintiff because the alleged conduct was the criminal act of a third party," Sneed's lawyer, Michael J. Todd, wrote in the Defendant's Original Answer dated April 21. "The alleged acts, if any, were performed by John Doe without any assistance, encouragement, or direction by L'Jarius Sneed.' Todd also said that Doe was not acting as Sneed's "personal assistant, employee agent, or in any capacity at any time."
A grand jury has not indicted Sneed on criminal charges as of this writing, but there is deliberation on charging him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The next step in the civil suit is a hearing on June 2.

Every season, a new class of rookies enters the NFL and immediately is met with comparisons and expectations. The exercise isn't just done by fans, as analysts pore through years of notes to come up with the perfect match. This season is no different, and of course, the Tennessee Titans' selection of Cam Ward is no exception. And many comparisons have been made. But for some analysts, his leadership style and work ethic bring back memories of one of Tennessee's all-time greats. Rob Rang of Fox Sports recently completed this comparison exercise and believes that Ward has the potential to lead the Titans into rarified air, with similarities to Steve McNair. Tennessee Titans: QB Cam Ward — Steve McNair It goes without saying that as the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, the Titans are expecting Ward to become a star and perhaps someday guide this team back to the Super Bowl, in much the same way that the late McNair did for this franchise. Ward isn't the bulldozing runner McNair was, but he's fantastically slippery in the pocket and possesses both the downfield vision and deep ball accuracy to light a fire under a dormant fan base. Ward and McNair may have different skill sets, but both were known for their work ethic and leadership traits entering their NFL careers. While McNair's impact on Nashville will never be duplicated, Ward does have the ability to help the Titans transcend mediocrity and become viable contenders. Like McNair, Ward does bring a sense of excitement and hope to the franchise, and all signs have been positive to this point. Yes, there is still a long way to go before this comparison can become a reality, but the foundation is already being laid with hard work and intangibles that cannot be duplicated.

Steelers OT Broderick Jones in spotlight after 2024 struggles and position change
All the attention on the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason has been about the addition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers. But for the Steelers, there is another position that might be more important than quarterback for this team's success in 2025. That would be offensive tackle. Last season, the tandem of Dan Moore Jr. on the left and Broderick Jones on the right struggled. And to be fair, Jones was worse than Moore. Nevertheless, Moore is now in line to start at left tackle for the Tennessee Titans and Jones has shifted to left tackle to allow Troy Fautanu to start on the right. Pro Football Focus named one make-or-break player for every NFL team and to no one's surprise, Jones was the Steeler who made the list. The Steelers desperately need production and continuity at offensive tackle, especially with Aaron Rodgers lined up to be their starting quarterback. Former first-round pick Broderick Jones spent the vast majority of his first two seasons at right tackle and struggled to a 58.5 PFF overall grade. Jones is not only playing for his job, he's got the pressure of Fautanu performing as well in his old spot. Fautanu missed all of his rookie season with a knee injury and his return is what prompted all of this. But after allowing 11 sacks in 2024, if Jones can't step up, there's literally no one else. Rodgers isn't as mobile as he once was and Jones will be protecting his blindside.
