Tennessee Titans' $92 million star dubbed team's Offensive Player of the Year candidate

Tennessee Titans' $92 million star dubbed team's Offensive Player of the Year candidate The Tennessee Titans dumped a massive contract onto Calvin Ridley in free agency in hopes he could lead the wide receiver room into the future. After securing a $92 million deal across four years last offseason, Ridley recorded 63 receptions for 1,017 yards and four touchdowns. That's not exactly the type of production a team would want from the 15th-highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. Even so, Ridley showed some promise during the second half of the season, and considering what he was working with at the quarterback position, there's still some hope that the 30-year-old can put together solid No. 1 numbers. When looking at the top Offensive Player of the Year award candidates from each team, Jacob Infante of Pro Football Network landed on Ridley for the Titans. It would admittedly be surprising if a Tennessee Titans player won Offensive Player of the Year in 2025. That said, their best candidate technically has to be their top skill position player. Calvin Ridley has quietly put together consecutive 1,000-yard seasons since his reinstatement into the NFL. He figures to be the Titans' top pass catcher again in 2025, this time with No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward throwing him the ball. No one should be putting their money on the award going to a player from the Titans offense. Not only is it incredibly difficult for a wide receiver to win the award, but the Titans' offense was one of the worst units in the NFL last season. It took Ridley a while to get going during the first half of the 2024 season in Nashville. During the first six games of the season, Ridley averaged just 30.5 receiving yards per game and had three separate games with fewer than 10 receiving yards. From Week 8 on, however, he averaged 75.8 yards per game — a pace of 1,288 receiving yards in a 17-game season. Those numbers wouldn't win Ridley the prestigious award, but it goes to show that with some consistent play at quarterback, the Titans could get their money's worth out of their top wideout.

Titans' Chimere Dike lands on preseason All-Rookie team

Titans' Chimere Dike lands on preseason All-Rookie team Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi knew what he was doing when he selected wide receiver Chimere Dike out of Florida in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL draft. It was partially to add a young receiver who could develop a long-lasting bond with newly drafted rookie quarterback Cam Ward. The idea is that they will be the duo of the future in Nashville. But before that can happen, both Dike and Ward have to acclimate to the league, and that means different things for each player. For Dike, it likely means a lesser role as a receiver and a larger role as a return specialist, something he did in college. In conjunction with the hiring of John Fassel this offseason, Dike has a bright future on special teams, which is likely why selected him for their All-Rookie team as a return man. Drafted: Round 4, No. 103 overall Tennessee hired venerable special teams coordinator John Fassel this offseason. Under Fassel's tutelage over the last three years in Dallas, KaVontae Turpin emerged as one of the league's most dangerous returners, making the Pro Bowl twice and earning first-team All-Pro honors this past season. Dike brings extensive college experience as a kick and punt returner. Not to mention, he blazed the 40-yard dash in 4.34 seconds. Oh, and here's a fun note of debatable relevance: Dike's No. 2 comp on MockDraftable is a man by the name of Devin Hester. Over four years between Wisconsin and Florida, Dike returned 29 punts for 295 yards (an average of over 10 yards per return). He also returned 22 kicks for 472 yards (over 22 yards per return) over three years in Wisconsin. He has the experience to be a very good return man in the NFL, and if the Devin Hester comparison is accurate, the Titans just found themselves a wild card. Because while Dike will excel on special teams, he will also excel as a receiver and eventually be a starter. Between Fassel and Dike, the Titans may have answered their special teams woes.

Former NFL OL Has Strong Thoughts on Titans Coach Bill Callahan

Former NFL OL Has Strong Thoughts on Titans Coach Bill Callahan originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Last season in Tennessee, there were tons of questions about the offensive line. Unfortunately, the answers received from the 2024 Titans offensive line were not good, with all quarterbacks who lined up under center being under duress a lot. In the 2025 offseason, the Titans addressed that, signing former Pittsburgh Steelers tackle Dan Moore, Detroit Lions guard Kevin Zeitler and moving 2024 first-round pick JC Latham from left tackle to right tackle. With this reconfigured room, the Titans are hoping for better production and protection up front. Advertisement And while the players have to do the work, the coaches also have to prepare the players to be at their best. That is where Titans offensive line coach Bill Callahan, the father of head coach Brian Callahan, comes in. The veteran NFL coach has had numerous offensive linemen he has coached over the years, and although the Titans' offensive line as a whole did not play consistently well, there is still confidence he will get this group to where they need to be. Former NFL offensive lineman George Foster, in his most recent appearance on the Touring The AFC South podcast, spoke to the genius of the elder Callahan when it comes to offensive linemen "Bill Callahan is the man," Foster said. "He is the GOAT. I have seen what he has done with guys during my time as a scout that I did not think, for lack of a better word, were worth anything. I have seen him get some use of them. Whether it be for a few years or in spot duty. I have seen him get work out of guys that probably shouldn't be in the league as long as they were." Callahan, over his 30 years in the NFL, has established a reputation that is well-known for his expertise in offensive line play. And with the Titans, another challenge stands in front of him. In Year 2, he now works with a group whose talent has been upgraded. But his challenge is to get the absolute best out of them as a unit. He did the best with what he had last year, but we shall see what he can do with the pieces he has this season. But there isn't any shortage of confidence in the abilities he has as an offensive line coach, as Foster stated. Ravens Derrick Henry Reveals Favorite Cheat Meal on 'Rich Eisen Show'

Ravens Derrick Henry Reveals Favorite Cheat Meal on 'Rich Eisen Show' originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Derrick Henry is preparing to enter season No. 10 in the NFL. Henry will head into year No. 2 with the Baltimore Ravens, as the 31-year-old running back appears as motivated as ever to play at a high level and help lead his team to a Super Bowl. Advertisement After spending the first eight seasons of his career with the Tennessee Titans, Henry took his talents to Baltimore. In his first season sharing a backfield with quarterback, Lamar Jackson, Henry remained a workhorse, carrying the ball more than 300 times for the fourth time in his career (325). Henry's 325 rushing attempts brought him 1,921 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns. The yards trailed only Saquon Barkley (2,005) and the TDs were tied for the lead league with Jahmyr Gibbs and James Cook. As he gets further from his thirtieth birthday, Henry's offseason training regimen has become a hot topic of conversation. Reportedly, Henry spends approximately $240 thousand per year on body maintenance. While he appears to treat his body like a sacred temple, even "King Henry" enjoys the occasional cheat meal. Advertisement On Wednesday, during an appearance on the "Rich Eisen Show", Henry revealed his favorite cheat meal. "I'm a breakfast person, so I like steak, eggs, and potatoes. I like French toast or even a waffle," Henry said. Rich Eisen attempted to dig deeper, asking if Henry enjoys a sugary cereal or a slice of pizza as part of his cheat meal. "No cereal. I don't eat cereal. Pizza, every once and a while, but I'm not a big pizza person," Henry said. Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry (22).Troy Taormina-Imagn Images Henry ranks No. 19 all-time in rushing yards and is the active rushing leader with 11,423 yards. He sits just 15 rushing yards behind Steven Jackson for No. 18 all-time. Advertisement He's also tied with Jim Brown for No. 6 all-time in rushing TDs (106). He sits just four TDs behind Walter Payton at No. 5. Henry's march toward history will begin during the Ravens Week 1 matchup on Sept. 7 against the Buffalo Bills. Titans WR Treylon Burks says he feels "amazing" in recovery from torn ACL

Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks says he's feeling good as he recovers from the torn ACL that ended his 2024 season in October. "I feel amazing, just blessed," Burks said, via "I've just been leaning on God, leaning on the people that believe in me, care. And I feel really good, and happy to be in the situation I'm in." Advertisement Even before the injury, Burks had been a disappointment as the 18th overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft. Through three NFL seasons he has just 49 catches for 665 yards and one touchdown. Burks knows he's no lock to make the Titans' roster but says he's not worried about competing with the other players in the Tennessee wide receivers room. "I am not going out to prove nobody wrong, I am going out to prove myself right," he said. "I tore my ACL [on October 18] and I am running. I am running routes, doing everything within those seven months, and it's like, 'Wow.' And it's nobody but God who made it happen. That's who I play for and that's who I lean on. I am not worried about whoever is in the room or whoever we've got. We're a team and we're going to go out and play ball." Burks hasn't played as much ball as the Titans were hoping he would in his first three seasons, but he's preparing for a training camp in which he hopes he can prove that he belongs.
