Gardai appeal for help tracing identity of three suspects after crime spree

Gardaí are appealing for help tracing the identity of three suspects alleged to have been involved in a pub robbery in Dublin last month.
Officers made the appeal on Crimecall following the audacious incidents of burglary in the early hours of Tuesday, May 5, between 2:30am and 4am in Balbriggan.
According to authorities, the suspects first arrive at Oldtown in a black Audi Q3 where they reverse to the rear of the warehouse, and gain entry.
After they entered the building one of the suspects appeared at a door and looked out towards the car park. While nothing was taken, damage was caused to the property. The suspects then left, turned right and drove north on the R130 arriving into Garristown where they drove to a café and pub.
Here the three suspects enter the café and in turn gain entry to the pub through an adjacent door. During the course of the incident the safe's contents were removed from the pub, containing cash and a Rolex watch.
The suspects then returned to the Audi, registration number 131C9160, and left Garristown heading north along Main Street towards the N2. This car was taken during a burglary incident five days earlier on April 30 in the Ballinteer area of South Dublin.
Earlier in May, Gardaí recovered the suspect car, the Audi Q3, in the Riversdale Grove estate in Palmerstown, West Dublin where it had been parked up for a number of days.
Gardaí are now appealing for help in uncovering the identity of the suspects, asking the public if they travelled on R130 between Oldtown and Garristown on the day in question, or if you were offered the Rolex watch.
Officers say the first suspect was stockier in build, had a hat, and scarf over face, a bubble jacket with a hood, Logo on left hand side chest of jacket and on back of jacket and tracksuit bottoms with light markings around knee on both sides.
Suspect two was also stockier in build, wearing a hood from jumper over head and hooded jacket over jumper, wearing a scarf over face, had a jacket with a mark on the left hand side of chest and tracksuit bottoms with a line on the left thigh
Suspect three was slight in build, wearing a baseball cap, and had tracksuit bottoms with draw string can be clearly seen on his tracksuit bottoms along with a logo on the top of the left leg.

Quham Babatunde died from stab wound to chest, coroner says

A 34-year-old asylum seeker who was fatally injured in an altercation during a night out in Dublin city centre died from a stab wound to the chest, an inquest has heard. Quham Babatunde died in the early hours of February 15th last on South Anne Street. He had earlier attended a nearby nightclub. An analysis report from Forensic Science Ireland confirmed that Mr Babatunde's fingerprints matched those of a set taken in November 2023 by an International Protection officer. Dr Keane noted that a forensic postmortem found that Mr Babatunde died from a stab wound to the chest. Det Insp Katherina Joyce requested an adjournment under Section 25 (2) of the Coroner's Act as criminal proceedings have been initiated in relation to Mr Babatunde's death. Det Insp Joyce confirmed that Mr Babatunde's family in Nigeria is aware of the proceedings through a family liaison officer. Dr Keane granted the adjournment and asked that the condolences of the court be shared with Mr Babatunde's family on his 'tragic death'. Nine men have been arrested and charged to date in relation to the investigation, including Ryan Ndede, who was charged with Mr Babatunde's murder. The 23-year-old, from Boroimhe Birches, Swords, Co Dublin, was arrested in Northern Ireland by police on board a ferry due to travel from Belfast to Birkenhead, England, on the day after Mr Babatunde's death. Others have been charged with assault causing harm, violent disorder and brandishing a knife.

Man questioned about Annie McCarrick says 'police are feeding you lies'

A man who was questioned abroad about the Annie McCarrick case has insisted that he and his brother – who was arrested as a suspect – are innocent. Ms McCarrick was 26 years old at the time of her disappearance, and had been living in Ireland after moving to Dublin from the USA in 1993. The American native was last seen on March 26, 1993 with the missing person case being upgraded to a murder investigation on the 30th anniversary of her disappearance.
