Actor Allu Arjun, who bagged the first best actor award for his blockbuster Pushpa 2, received the award from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and thanked the government for selecting him for the award.
Speaking on the occasion, he said he was truly honoured to receive the first award for Pushpa 2 at the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards 2024. 'All credit goes to my director Sukumar, my producers and the entire Pushpa team. I dedicate this award to all my fans,' he said.
After receiving the 'NTR National Film Award', Nandamuri Balakrishna showered praise on the government for naming the film awards after balladeer Gaddar. He also remembered the contributions of his father, the late N.T. Rama Rao, to the Telugu film industry.

Allu Arjun beats B-town biggies in Hindi TRP Records with ‘Pushpa 2'

Icon Star Allu Arjun continues to make waves across the country, this time by breaking television viewership records with his blockbuster Pushpa 2. The film, directed by Sukumar, has already shattered box office records with an astounding ₹1800 crore collection following its December theatrical release. Now, the film has set another milestone—this time on Hindi television. Despite being available on OTT platforms shortly after its release, the Hindi-dubbed version of Pushpa 2 recently premiered on TV and garnered an impressive 5.1 TVR, reaching 5.4 crore viewers. This makes Pushpa 2 the most-watched film on Hindi television in recent times, overtaking TRP numbers of Bollywood blockbusters like Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal by a significant margin. What makes this feat even more remarkable is that Pushpa 2 managed to achieve this dominance during the peak phase of IPL 2025, surpassing the cricket league's viewership—an accomplishment very few films have achieved in recent memory. Allu Arjun, who also received the Telangana State's Gaddar Award for his powerful performance as Pushpa Raj, has firmly established himself as a pan-India superstar. His crossover success in the Hindi-speaking belt, traditionally dominated by Bollywood stars, marks a significant shift in audience dynamics and industry reach. Looking ahead, Allu Arjun is gearing up for his next project with director Atlee, a collaboration that already has fans buzzing with excitement. If Pushpa 2 is any indication, his upcoming ventures are set to elevate his stardom to even greater heights. Kajol calls Ramoji Film City as ‘one of the most haunted places in the world,' netizens accuse her of being ‘jealous' of Telugu industry

As she promotes her upcoming horror film Maa, Bollywood actress Kajol has stirred up a lively discussion by describing Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City as a place she finds deeply unsettling. During a recent interview with Galatta India, Kajol reflected on her shooting experiences, singling out the sprawling studio complex as 'one of the most haunted places in the world.' 'I've shot at places that made me feel uneasy. I couldn't sleep. Ramoji Film City, to me, is one of the most haunted places in the world,' she revealed. While Kajol clarified that she hasn't personally encountered ghosts there, the eerie atmosphere left a strong impression on her. The actress' candid remarks quickly went viral, provoking mixed reactions across social media platforms. Hyderabad residents and Telugu cinema enthusiasts weighed in, with some appreciating Kajol's frankness, while others voiced criticism. One user on X dismissed her comments as a 'false claim,' while another accused her of harbouring jealousy toward the Telugu film industry: 'Kajol calling Ramoji Film City as the most haunted place in the world is a slight on the largest Film City in Asia or even the world due to jealousy and envy for Hindi Cinema to have fallen far from its glory (sic).' Netizens also pointed out that major Telugu blockbusters like Baahubali, Pushpa, and RRR were filmed at Ramoji without any reported supernatural incidents. Another user, disagreeing with her claim, said, 'With due respect to Kajol, if Ramoji Film City were truly haunted, lakhs of people wouldn't be visiting it every year. It's Hyderabad's pride in film tourism.' With due respect to Kajol, if Ramoji Film City were truly haunted, lakhs of people wouldn't be visiting it every year. One user agreeing with Kajol said, 'Ramoji Film City lives up to its notorious reputation of being haunted and spooky. Kajol Recalls Spooky Experience At Ramoji Film City; Netizens Dismiss Claims As ‘Baseless'

Last Updated: Kajol claims Ramoji Film City is one of the most haunted places in the world. Her comments sparked a fierce debate online, with many Hyderabadis calling it nonsense. Bollywood star Kajol recently found herself in the middle of a social media storm after calling Hyderabad's iconic Ramoji Film City 'one of the most haunted places in the world." While promoting her upcoming horror film Maa, the actor opened up about her belief in energies and spooky spaces—an admission that has since gone viral and sparked a heated online debate. In an interview with Galatta India, Kajol was asked if she had ever sensed a negative energy in real life. 'I have experienced this multiple times," she said. 'Call it negative energy or vibes, but sometimes, when you go to a place, you feel like something isn't right. I've shot at places where I couldn't sleep all night. I felt like it would be better if I just left." She then named Ramoji Film City as a 'prime example," saying, 'It's considered one of the most haunted places in the world. I've been lucky not to have seen anything paranormal, though." While Kajol's anecdote touched upon a long-standing urban legend associated with the sprawling film complex, not everyone was amused. Critics online accused her of sensationalizing superstition for the sake of film promotions. 'Tomorrow she'll play a scientist and say there's nothing better than rationality," one Redditor commented. Others pointed out the irony, saying, 'If it were truly haunted, lakhs wouldn't visit it every year. It's the pride of Hyderabad." Many users jumped to the studio's defense, citing the blockbuster movies shot there—from Baahubali and Pushpa to RRR, Pathaan, Salaar, and more. 'It's negative propaganda against Telugu cinema," one post read. Another user added sarcastically, 'Ghosts still working in 2025? That's commitment!" Ramoji Film City, which spans over 1,600 acres and holds a Guinness World Record for being the largest film studio in the world, has long been surrounded by tales of eerie occurrences. Urban legends suggest it was built on the land of a former battlefield or graveyard—a story that has fed ghost stories for years. Some, however, backed Kajol's statement, saying she wasn't alone in sensing 'something off" at the location. 'Even Tapsee Pannu and director Sundar C have shared similar experiences," one user noted. Others cited filmmaker Ravi Babu, who once said a real-life incident at Sitara Hotel inside Ramoji Film City inspired his horror film Avunu. Despite the backlash, Kajol has not responded to the trolling or issued a clarification. For now, she seems content letting her spooky experiences speak for themselves—as does Maa, which is set to hit theatres on June 27. First Published:
