Chinese fighter jet crash in Myanmar blamed on mechanical failure

has claimed to have downed a
Chinese fighter jet
operated by the Myanmar's Airforce. The fighter jet crashed in Myanmar's Pale Township, located in the
Sagaing Region
.

citing local media reports has said the aircraft that crashed on 10th of this month was a Chinese fighter plane. It was the
FTC-2000G
, a two-seater air to ground light fighter jet and images of the crashed aircraft were broadcasted on the local media.
A search and rescue mission was launched along with efforts to ascertain the type of aircraft and the crash was reportedly blamed on a mechanical failure, said an AP report quoting Myanmar's state run MRTV television.
Ni Ni Kyaw, a spokesperson for a militia known as the People's Liberation Army, or
PLA
, told The Associated Press its fighters had been involved in an assault on a police station in Pale township when they shot down the jet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The rebel group claimed that they downed the fighter jet using machine guns when it was flying at a very low altitude after a completing a bombing run. This has been the first time the group was able to shoot down a fighter jet since they began fighting against the against the military as reported by AFP
Sagaing Region is approximately 700 km from Myanmar's capital, Naypyidaw. This region is under the control of rebels who are opposed to the military rule that was imposed in the country after the 2021 coup.

Lucknow: A day after two Uzbek women were found living illegally in a flat in Golf City who revealed that they had undergone facial plastic surgery to hide their identities, police have intensified probe into the suspected trafficking and sex racket involving foreign nationals, a cosmetic surgeon and a man posing as a journalist. Senior officers said that raids were conducted at multiple locations to trace the surgeon and the journalist, identified as Thrijin Raj alias Arjun Rana — two key suspects named in the FIR. While the surgeon allegedly performed multiple facial surgeries on the women to give them a "Russian look", Thrijin is accused of sheltering foreign nationals and running illegal spas in residential flats. "The two women are still under FRRO surveillance and have confirmed their identities. We have obtained leads on the flats operated by Thrijin Raj and the financial trail involved," said DCP (south zone) Nipun Agarwal. Employess at the surgeon's clinic in Ahimamau informed the police the doctor was on an extended leave. Meanwhile, Thrijin's apartment remains locked. Investigators suspect the two may have fled the city after the case came to light. Road rage: Sub inspector booked for thrashing armyman
Lucknow: An Army officer accused a sub inspector of physically assaulting him and attempting to run him over with a vehicle following a road rage incident at Telibagh crossing on Saturday morning. An FIR was registered on Sunday against the unidentified police personnel. Lt Col Anand Prakash Suman, currently posted with the NCC Directorate in Patna, filed a complaint at PGI police station alleging that around 9.40 am, while travelling with his family in his car, he took a turn towards PGI Road when another car — allegedly driven by a police sub-inspector — approached from the wrong direction, forcing him to apply brake suddenly. This caused an auto-rickshaw to rear-end his vehicle. According to Col Suman, when he questioned the driver for coming from the wrong direction, the S-I began hurling abuses. "As I rolled down my window to speak, he slapped me without provocation," Col Suman stated in his complaint.
