Deborra-Lee Furness files to divorce Hugh Jackman 2 years after split
Hugh Jackman's estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, filed for divorce in New York, nearly two years after the pair announced they were ending their 27-year marriage.
Furness, 69, filed for divorce on Friday in Suffolk County Supreme Court, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The outlet reports the divorce will be finalized once the judge signs off on the complaint and other documents Furness submitted — filings regarding continuing health care coverage, a medical child support order, the New York State child support registry form, the exes' settlement deal, a proposed judgement of divorce and official certificate of dissolution.
The 'Deadpool & Wolverine' star and award-winning 'Shame' actress met in 1995, working on the Australian miniseries 'Correlli,' and married the following year. They later adopted son Oscar and daughter Ava, now 25 and 19 respectively.
In September 2023, the couple announced their separation in a joint statement to People.
'We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,' the actors said at the time. 'Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. … We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness.'
Jackman sparked romance rumors with his 'Music Man' co-star Sutton Foster as far back as 2022, though the Broadway stars only confirmed their relationship earlier this year.
Furness' filing comes seven months after 50-year-old Foster filed to divorce screenwriter Ted Griffin in October, after a decade of marriage. The exes share daughter Emily, whom they also welcomed via adoption.
Prior to Griffin, Foster was married to fellow Broadway veteran Christian Borle, who, like Jackman and the 'Thoroughly Modern Millie' actress, has won two Tony Awards.

I always ask them, 'Do you wanna be on the show? Because I'll pass it along,'' she told Us Weekly at the awards show. Preston added, 'So I saw Brooke Shields tonight. I saw Celia Keenan-Bolger tonight. Of course Cole Escola. I'd like to see if we can round up pretty much everybody on Broadway and get them on.' The interview came shortly before Escola made history as the first openly non-binary Tony Winner, taking home Lead Actor in a Play for their hilarious take on Mary Todd Lincoln in Oh, Mary!, which they also wrote. Elsebeth's Season 2 finale 'Ramen Holiday' brought back guest stars Stephen Moyer, Retta, Gina Gershon, Elizabeth Lail, Arian Moayed, André De Shields, Alyssa Milano, Mary-Louise Parker and Ethan Slater for the musical episode. 'We were trying to get maybe four of these guest stars, but we got eight,' Preston previously told Deadline. 'They wanted to come back and play with us, which was such an honor. It just meant the world to me that they wanted to be a part of it, and they were all so game.' Executive producer Jonathan Tolins told Deadline of the episode's Chicago tribute, 'The two hardest parts were the scheduling and waiting to be granted the rights to use the 'Cell Block Tango'. We prepared as if they were going to say yes, and fortunately, in the end, they did, because we went a long way on a limb getting ready for it, and getting the number together.' ‘Real Women Have Curves' Announces Broadway Closing
Real Women Have Curves: The Musical will play its final Broadway performance on June 29 following 31 previews and 73 regular performances. The musical opened April 27 at The James Earl Jones Theatre to mostly favorable reviews, but never really caught on at the box office during a spring that saw huge receipts for star-driven productions. For the week ending June 15, Real Women Have Curves filled only 63% of available seats, grossing just $365,252 with an average ticket price of $68.63. More from Deadline 'Oh, Mary!' Breaks House Record As Cole Escola's Starring Run Nears End; Overall Receipts Drop As Hollywood Goes Home - Broadway Box Office 2025-26 Awards Season Calendar: Dates For Tonys, Emmys, Oscars & More Carrie Preston Teases Her 'Elsbeth' Guest Star Wish List: "Pretty Much Everybody On Broadway" Based on the play by Josefina López and the 2002 film adaptation starring America Ferrera, Real Women Have Curves focuses on a group of immigrants working at a small dress-making shop in East L.A. The musical mixes family drama and self-acceptance with larger social themes about immigration, with the threat of deportation ever present. 'We have been working on developing this show for the last five years and could have never predicted that when it made its way to Broadway it would be timelier than ever,' said producers Barry Weissler and Jack Noseworthy in a statement. 'Bringing this joyful immigrant story that explores the American Dream to the stage has been an honor and a responsibility that we don't take lightly, especially in today's political climate. 'We are grateful,' they continued, 'to our company and audiences who made it all possible, and especially applaud our cast's courage, vulnerability, and authenticity in telling this story each night. Though our run on Broadway is coming to an end, we are very much looking forward to the future life of Real Women Have Curves and continuing to bring this important story to new audiences.' The musical received two Tony Award nominations – Best Original Score and, for Justina Machado, Best Featured Actress in a Musical – but went home empty-handed earlier this month. The musical stars Broadway newcomer Tatianna Córdoba, Florencia Cuenca, Shelby Acosta, Carla Jimenez, Aline Mayagoitia, Mauricio Mendoza, Mason Reeves, Jennifer Sánchez and Sandra Valls. The musical was directed and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo, with music and lyrics by Joy Huerta and Benjamin Velez, and book by Lisa Loomer with Nell Benjamin. American Repertory Theater (A.R.T) at Harvard University produced the musical's world premiere in 2023.
