Secunderabad cantonment MLA Ganesh distributes Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques

MLA Sriganesh has distributed cheques totalling Rs. 36,04,176 to 36 beneficiaries of the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes at his camp office in the Cantonment constituency.
During the event, Sriganesh emphasised the commitment of the Congress government to welfare, asserting that beneficiaries had not received their cheques for several years under the previous BRS administration. He pledged that the Congress government would ensure prompt delivery of these essential funds.
The MLA highlighted the unfulfilled promises made by the BRS party, which has governed the state for the past decade. He assured constituents that a new Congress government would introduce free bus services under the Mahalaxmi scheme, subsidised gas cylinders for Rs. 500, and 200 units of free electricity as part of the Gruha Jyoti scheme.
Despite the challenging financial situation of the state, Sriganesh stated that the government remains steadfast in its dedication to welfare initiatives. He expressed confidence that the electorate has empowered the Congress party for the next five years, and further schemes will be implemented in due course.
The beneficiaries who received the cheques expressed their gratitude towards the Congress government, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and local MLA Sriganesh for their support.

The govt has set a target of constructing 3,500 houses in each of the 119 constituencies. Referring to the state's land regularisation initiative Bhu Bharati, he said 8.6 lakh applications were received from various districts and villages during revenue grievance meetings. "All the legitimate applications would be resolved by Aug 15 to provide much-needed relief and freedom to farmers. The Congress govt is committed to solving the land-related disputes through Bhu Bharati, ensuring justice to farmers and eliminating confusion over land ownership," he added.

Oil Prices At 5-Month High Amid Mideast Crisis, India Has Enough Supplies

New Delhi: Oil prices rose to their highest level since January this year on Monday after the US strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran, with the country threatening to shut Strait of Hormuz, through which around 20 per cent of global crude supply flows. Brent crude futures was up $1.92 or 2.49 per cent at $78.93 a barrel early on Monday. US West Texas Intermediate crude increased $1.89 or 2.56 per cent to $75.73. Brent crude prices surged as much as 5 per cent. However, prices could not sustain at those levels and pared the early advance almost immediately. Crude oil prices extended gains for a third straight week amid rising geopolitical tensions and a sharper-than-expected drawdown in US inventories. The ongoing hostilities between Israel and Iran have heightened supply concerns across the Middle East, a region critical to global oil exports. According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), crude stockpiles dropped by 11.5 million barrels last week — significantly higher than the anticipated 2.3 million-barrel decline. 'Crude oil is seen having support at $74.20-73.40 and resistance at $75.65-76.20 in today's session. In Rs terms, crude oil has support at Rs 6,400-6,320 while resistance is at Rs 6,580-6,690,' said Rahul Kalantri, VP Commodities, Mehta Equities Ltd. Even though the possibility of the closure of Hormuz Strait is a threat, it is important to understand that this has always been only a threat and the Strait had never been closed. 'The fact is that the closure of Hormuz Strait will harm Iran and Iran's friend China more than anyone else,' said VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments Limited. Meanwhile, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, has allayed fears over any disruption in oil supplies to Indian consumers due to the Israel-Iran war and further escalation in geopolitical tensions in the Middle East because of US bombing of Iran's nuclear sites. 'We have been closely monitoring the evolving geopolitical situation in the Middle East since the past two weeks. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have diversified our supplies in the past few years and a large volume of our supplies do not come through the Strait of Hormuz now,' the minister said. He pointed out that the country's oil marketing companies (Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum) have supplies for several weeks and continue to receive energy supplies from several routes. 'We will take all necessary steps to ensure stability of supplies of fuel to our citizens,' the minister assured. India imports around 85 per cent of its crude oil requirement and a surge in oil prices leads to an increase in its oil import bill and pushes up the rate of inflation which hurts economic growth. However, India has diversified its oil sources by increasing imports from Russia as well as the US and building resilience through strategic reserves.

Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Monday (June 23, 2025) said the anti-Naxal operations should be carried out effectively in a transparent manner and the exercise should not be politicised. The Congress in-charge for Chhattisgarh was talking to reporters at the Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur, after arriving here for a two-day visit during which he will chair a series of meetings with the party leaders. Asked about Union Home Minister Amit Shah's recent statement that anti-Naxal operations will be continued during the rainy season, Mr. Pilot, said, "The Congress has always been against violence and extremists. Our leaders have sacrificed their lives to keep this country and state safe. Whatever effective action is to be taken, it should be taken. Action should be done in a transparent manner and it should not be politicised," he said. 'This is a matter of internal security. No one should do politics over this. Whatever action is taken, it should be done by taking everyone into confidence. It should be effective, transparent and should not have any political colour," the former Union Minister said. Mr. Pilot said everyone should come together to end Naxalism not only in Chhattisgarh but also in other States which have been struggling with the menace. "Strict steps should be taken after a lot of should be transparent and accountable. Whatever conclusion comes out of this, the public should get its benefit. Action should be done on the ground and not by giving speeches again and again," he said. Briefing about his visit, the Congress leader said meetings will be held for two days to seek reports of works done by various wings and cells of the party's Chhattisgarh unit and chalk out a roadmap for future course of action. "[Senior Congress leaders] Mallikarjun Kharge ji and Rahul Gandhi ji have dedicated the year 2025 for the organisation. Therefore, we want to strengthen the organisation from booth to State level," Mr. Pilot said. "The changes that need to be made and the roadmap to be followed will be discussed in detail during the Monday meetings. We will work to give a new direction to the party by holding continuous meetings for two days," he said. Mr. Pilot said he will also hold a meeting with the Congress MLAs on Monday night (June 23, 2025) to chalk out a strategy to corner the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party during the monsoon session of the State Assembly next month.
