Air India's Birmingham-Delhi diverted to Riyadh after receiving bomb threat
Air India Flight AI114 from Birmingham to Delhi that took off on Saturday was diverted to Riyadh after it received a bomb threat. The aircraft landed safely and completed a security check, an Air India spokesperson said.

website, the aircraft took off from Birmingham at 20:26 and was flying to Delhi when the diversion occurred.
The spokesperson added that all passengers were deplaned and were provided hotel accommodation.

"The inconvenience caused to our passengers due to this unforeseen disruption is sincerely regretted. Alternative arrangements are being made to fly the passengers to their destinations,' the Air India spokesperson said.
In a similar incident on June 13, an Air India flight from Phuket, Thailand to New Delhi made an emergency landing following a bomb threat received onboard, airport authorities confirmed.

Flight AI 379, carrying 156 passengers, took off from Phuket International Airport at 9:30 AM local time (0230 GMT). However, after making a loop around the Andaman Sea, the aircraft returned to the Thai island in accordance with emergency procedures.
'All 156 passengers on flight AI 379 had been escorted from the plane, in line with emergency plans,' an Airports of Thailand (AOT) official said.
The flight tracking platform Flightradar24 showed the plane turning back mid-flight before landing safely. AOT did not disclose specific details of the bomb threat. Air India has not issued a statement on the matter.

Air India Express flight to Jammu returns to Delhi due to ‘GPS interference'
An Air India Express flight from Delhi to Jammu returned to the Delhi Airport on Sunday morning after it was diverted mid-air following a suspected 'GPS interference'. A spokesman of the airline said that following the suspected 'GPS interference', the flight returned to Delhi as a precautionary measure, and an alternative aircraft was later provided to the passengers to reach their destination. According to the live flight tracking website Flightradar24, flight IX2564, operated by an Airbus A320, took off from Delhi at 10.40 am and was scheduled to land in Jammu at 12.05 pm. However, the aircraft returned to Delhi at 11.04 am. A second flight departed Delhi at 5.02 pm and landed in Jammu at 6.08 pm, Flightradar24 stated. Flights operating in northern India, especially Jammu and Kashmir, have been experiencing high GPS interference, a 24-hour map of GPS jamming by Flightradar24 showed. According to Flightradar24, GPS interference can occur due to various reasons, such as electromagnetic radiation from nearby devices, intentional jamming, adverse atmospheric conditions like ionospheric disturbances, and solar activity, including flares. These sources can disrupt GPS signals, leading to inaccuracies or complete signal loss during flight operations. Such interference poses significant risks to aircraft by affecting navigation and communication systems that rely heavily on GPS for precise positioning, route planning, and situational awareness. In a statement, an Air India Express spokesperson said: 'Our Delhi-Jammu flight returned to Delhi as a precautionary measure, following a suspected GPS interference incident. Subsequently, an alternative flight was organised to connect guests to Jammu. We regret the inconvenience caused. Instances of GPS signal interference have been reported by operators while flying over certain sensitive regions.' Flightradar24 noted that disrupted GPS signals can lead to navigation errors, incorrect altitude readings, or position inaccuracies. This can result in flight deviations, missed approaches, and in extreme cases, safety threats during critical phases such as takeoff or landing — especially under low visibility conditions.
