UP's Dussehri mango goes global with first export consignment to Dubai

Uttar Pradesh's push towards boosting farm exports has achieved a key breakthrough, with 1,200 kg of Dussehri mangoes (400 boxes, each weighing 3 kg) airlifted to Dubai, an official statement said on Sunday.
Dispatched from Lucknow's Mango Pack House to Dubai-based importer Vergro Trading LLC, the USD-2,992 consignment signals a new global opportunity for the state's mango growers, it said.
The consignment was flagged off by Dinesh Pratap Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, and Agricultural Foreign Trade.

Farmer Producer Organisations
(FPOs) from the Lucknow region were trained and empowered for agricultural export.
Among them,
Irada Farmers Producer Company
Limited and Malihabad Farmer Producer Company Limited have secured direct export orders for Dussehri mangoes from Dubai.

For the first time both the FPOs are independently exporting mangoes, making it a historic milestone for the state's mango growers.
"Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, mango exports from Uttar Pradesh are steadily rising. Our goal is to help mango farmers from the state establish a strong presence in the global market. The government is extending all necessary support in terms of production, packaging, and meeting international export standards," said Singh. PTI

HSRP mandatory for vehicle ownership transfer, says RTO

Nashik: Vehicle owners without high security registration plates (HSRP) may face restrictions in conducting Regional Transport Office (RTO) related activities, as the RTO has established HSRP registration as a prerequisite for certain services. For vehicles registered before April 2019, HSRPs have been made compulsory, with a compliance deadline of June 2025. The implementation in Nashik has received limited participation. "There are an estimated 10 lakh vehicles registered before April 2019. As of now, around 1.4 lakh vehicles registered for the HSRPs, out of which close to 1 lakh motorists have fixed them. The work of fixing these number plates is underway at the authorised centres spread across the 10 talukas in the jurisdiction of our office," said Rajashree Gund, the deputy RTO of Nashik. The online registration system has not garnered sufficient response. Consequently, the RTO has decided to withhold processing certain applications unless the vehicle owner has either installed HSRP or completed online registration. MS FTA HSRP Solutions Pvt Ltd has been designated as the official agency for HSRP installation in Nashik, operating 76 centres throughout the district. Vehicle owners are advised to register for HSRP online at or before June 30. The HSRP fees are: Rs 450 plus GST for two-wheelers, Rs 500 plus GST for three-wheelers, and Rs 745 plus GST for four-wheelers and larger vehicles.

Centre-state mango relief: Karnataka growers to be paid for price fall on 2.5 lakh tonnes; price fall prompts joint compensation plan

The Centre and Karnataka government have agreed to jointly compensate mango farmers in the state for up to 2.5 lakh tonnes of produce after a sharp decline in market prices, according to an official statement issued on Saturday. The decision was taken during a video conference between Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Karnataka Agriculture Minister N Chaluvaraya Swamy, where the two sides finalised a joint compensation mechanism under a central government scheme. 'To address the drop in mango prices, the central and state governments will jointly bear the cost of the price difference and pay that to the farmers,' the Union agriculture ministry said. Union Agriculture Secretary Devesh Chaturvedi also participated in the meeting. The relief will apply to 25% of the estimated 10 lakh tonnes of mangoes produced in the state this season, the statement said. Karnataka had earlier submitted a formal proposal to the Centre, citing a price crash in both tomatoes and mangoes, particularly the Totapuri variety. Ahmedabad plane crash: DGCA asks Air India for details of inspections, audits since 2024, says report

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has sought flight operations inspectors to provide details of all inspections and audits conducted for Air India since 2024, sources said on Saturday. The details on the findings of the inspections and audits will have to be submitted by Sunday, they said, news agency PTI reported. The DGCA has sought these details for 2024 and 2025 (to date), in an email communication which came a day after the aviation safety regulator issued a show-cause notice to the airline for flight duty time limitations (FDTL) violations, the report citing sources said. The DGCA had also ordered removal of the airline's three senior officials from their respective roles for certain lapses. The data has been sought on planned and unplanned inspections, audit, cockpit/enroute, station facility, ramp and cabin inspection among others, as per the communication, the PTI report added. The directives come after an Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick carrying 242 passengers and crew members crashed shortly after takeoff on June 12, killing over 270 people onboard and on the ground. The DGCA ordered Tata Group-owned Air India to remove three senior officials for lapses in crew scheduling and rostering and issued a show-cause notice to the airline for violating FDTL norms, sources said on Saturday. In its order of June 20, the DGCA noted that the three officials, including a divisional vice-president, were involved in "serious and repeated lapses, including unauthorised and non-compliant crew pairings, violation of mandatory licensing and recency norms and systemic failures in scheduling protocol and oversight". The DGCA directed the airline to initiate proceedings against these three officials without delay, the PTI report said. Air India in a statement said it has acknowledged the regulator's directive and implemented the order. "In the interim, the company's chief operations officer will provide direct oversight to the Integrated Operations Control Centre (IOCC). "Air India is committed to ensuring that there is total adherence to safety protocols and standard practices," the airline said in a statement. ARMS (Air Route Management System) is the software platform used by the airline for various operational and management tasks, including crew rostering and flight planning, among others. A total of 247 victims of the horrific June 12 Ahmedabad plane crash have been identified through DNA tests so far and 232 bodies have been handed over to their families, officials said on Saturday. The authorities have asked the families of eight victims to submit the DNA samples of another relative as the previous ones failed to match, they said. According to the report, police said the matching of DNA samples confirmed that Ahmedabad-based filmmaker Mahesh Jirawala, who was reported missing following the crash, died in the catastrophe. His mortal remains were handed over to his family. Authorities are carrying out DNA tests to establish the identity of the victims as many bodies were charred beyond recognition as the aircraft burst into flames or damaged on impact.
