A new bridge was inaugurated by the RTA this past week and will reportedly cut down travel time by 67 per cent.
The bridge, connecting Jumeirah Street to Al Mina Street in the direction of the Infinity Bridge, is the latest opening in a series of extensions being added to the road network of Dubai in a bid to combat perhaps the most pressing problem of now – traffic and congestion.
The bridge spans 985 metres and features two lanes that can accommodate up to 3,200 vehicles per hour. This new diversion will significantly reduce traffic and congestion in the area, and cut down travel times, from 12 minutes to 4 minutes for motorists traveling from Jumeirah Street towards Infinity Bridge via Al Mina Street.

This bridge is part of Phase 4 of a larger project of the construction of five bridges totalling 3.1 km, with a combined capacity of 19,400 vehicles per hour across all lanes. The second quarter of 2025 is expected to see the completion of another 780-metre, three-lane bridge connecting Infinity Bridge to Al Wasl Street via Al Mina Street.

The Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project is split into 5 phases. Several roadworks have already been completed, with RTA having completed 90 per cent of Phase 4 of the project, This phase also includes the Al Khaleej Street Tunnel Project. Phase 5 is yet to be announced
The corridor extends 4.8 kilometres from the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street to the Falcon Intersection on Al Mina Street.
The aim of the project is to improve connectivity between Deira and Bur Dubai while also connecting upcoming major developments, including Dubai Islands, Deira Waterfront, Dubai Maritime City, and Port Rashid.
Once completed, the corridor will benefit about one million residents, according to the RTA, and significantly reducing travel time from 104 minutes to just 16 minutes by 2030. The project is designed to enhance road safety standards while delivering an estimated Dh45 billion in economic benefits over the next 20 years.

Dubai: Traffic diversion on Al Qudra Road from June 22
Starting June 22, a temporary traffic diversion will be in place at the Arabian Ranches Junction, Dubai's Roads and Transports Authority (RTA) announced. I've been so lucky to have received such a phenomenal response from my clients and social media. This has really helped me grow my business. Every day people hire me and my team to help organize their spaces. We immerse ourselves in their homes and move through their spaces tailoring a highly-functional system. In the beginning, it was difficult to take on large projects, but as my team grew, we are now capable of really helping our clients organise as many spaces in their homes as they need. For those who are having a refresh for a new year, what are your top tips to start organising your space and life? Before buying anything new, take a minute or two to think about where it is going to live in your home and life. Think about how long you will need this item and what will happen to it in the future when you no longer do it. Starting any business from scratch is a challenge. In my case, I was starting a business from scratch about a new concept that few people had heard of. I would say bringing my vision to life was a great challenge because it took a while for people to realize the necessity of adopting a new lifestyle for their homes as opposed to seeing my work as simply 'cleaning up' the house. What have been the key milestones? I would say my first milestone was when I was able to bring in a team to help me serve my clients better. Building a team gave me a sense of accomplishment that something I had started on my own was now growing into something more. My second milestone was after having my third child and realizing that I did not need to stop working. It took a lot of mental and emotional energy to see that it was okay for me to keep doing what I loved. Once I started taking on new projects again, I was so proud of myself and happy that I had not just let it go because of my new responsibilities and busy life. What does the future hold for Tidymess? Continue to grow and reach more people. Everyone can be a part of this concept. Public transport: Dubai to get 637 eco-friendly buses
Dubai's Road and Transport Authority (RTA) recently announced that its adding to its fleet of buses and have ordered 637 public buses to grace the roads of Dubai. The buses are worth a large Dhs1.1 billion and are sure to assist in the development of public transport around the city. The buses are scheduled for delivery in 2025 and 2026 and there will be various types including 40 electric ones. The announcement was shared after four major agreements were made and, H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, witnessed the signing at UITP Global Public Transport Summit. RTA also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chinese company BYD, to pilot the operation of an electric bus equipped with the latest technologies and battery systems offered by the company. The trial will take place in Dubai over a period that includes the summer season.
