Macron dismisses viral moment with wife as 'joking around' after disinformation claims backfire

French President Emmanuel Macron allegedly argued that video images showing his wife Brigitte pushing him away with both hands in the face on Monday were a pro-Russian disinformation campaign.
"Brigitte's hands #Macron brought to the PR's face at #Hanoï : the Élysée initially denied the veracity of the images, suggesting a video generated by AI and relayed by pro-Russian accounts, before finally authenticating the sequence and evoking a moment of "complicity," a post from the French outlet, Brèves de presse, claimed.
Although Macron's office initially denied the authenticity of the images, The Associated Press later confirmed them as genuine.

His office has continued to downplay the incident following the initial attempt to suggest a pro-Russia disinformation campaign.
"It was a moment where the president and his wife were decompressing one last time before the start of the trip by horsing around. It's a moment of complicity. It was all that was needed to give ammunition to the conspiracy theorists," his office said.

Macron has also told reporters that the couple were just joking around.
"We are squabbling and, rather, joking with my wife," he said, adding that the incident was being overblown into "a sort of geo-planetary catastrophe."
France's Macron Meets With Trump At The White House
Video of the incident showed a uniformed man opening the plane door as Macron was seen wearing a suit and standing in the doorway. Brigitte Macron's arms – in red sleeves – could be seen reaching out and pushing Macron away, with one hand covering his mouth and part of his nose while the other was on his jaw. The French president turned his head away but suddenly noticed news cameras capturing the moment. He quickly smiled and waved before exiting the door frame.
Macron and his wife later disembarked the stairs of the aircraft together. The French president offered his arm, though the first lady – seen wearing a red blazer – did not take hold of it.
The video quickly went viral and was mainly promoted by accounts that have been accused of being habitually hostile to the French leader.
"For three weeks … there are people who have watched videos and think I shared a bag of cocaine, that I had a fight with the Turkish president, and that now I'm having a domestic dispute with my wife," said Macron. "None of these are true. Everyone needs to calm down."Original article source: Macron dismisses viral moment with wife as 'joking around' after disinformation claims backfire

Jaden Smith's Drug Habit Exposed After Dad Will Smith Admits Making 'Very Terrible' Parenting Mistake

's latest outing has sparked concern about drug use. The 26-year-old nepo baby was recently spotted with drug paraphernalia just days after his father, , spoke about his biggest parenting regret. The "Men In Black" actor admitted "radical honesty" with Jaden and his sister backfired on him and his wife, . Over the weekend, Jaden was seen hanging with a friend at a public park in Paris around 3 Am while surrounded by drug paraphernalia. The pair sat on a bench, staring off into the distance. "The Karate Kid" actor held a lighter while a blue water bong was placed next to him. However, he was not seen using the bong in the image taken by the Daily Mail. Jaden donned a bright yellow coat over a white t-shirt paired with baggy light blue jeans for the night outing. He accessorized with a red cap and chunky diamond necklaces. The "nepo baby" and his unidentified friend soon left the park with a black tote bag, taking along their belongings. Unfortunately, Jaden isn't the only Smith child to spark criticism for substance abuse. Just weeks ago, the internet was divided after a photo of Willow smoking weed surfaced. The image was posted on Instagram by their grandmother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris. The "Red Table Talk" co-host was photographed smoking cannabis with Funk legend, George Clinton. Willow and the music icon hung out on a balcony during the session. "Willow don't play about her music! The one and only, legendary George Clinton," the proud grandmother captioned the post. However, it was met with immense backlash from fans who didn't like the promotion of drug use. "I love her for her courage and confidence… but shouldn't public figures set a good example for the youth who look up to them?" one fan questioned in the comments section. "And it's ok to do drugs??? Lovely," a second user added. "Wow, grandmas are different because mine would never," this fan slammed. Jaden and Willow's exposed drug habits come after their famous father got candid about a significant parenting mistake he and Jada Pinkett made. "We made a very, very, very terrible mistake with our children, and we went with radical honesty. But don't do it, I'm not advocating for it." Will said while appearing on "Heart Breakfast with Jamie and Amanda." The Academy winner explained how it played out, saying, "We made a deal from really young with our kids. The deal was, if you tell the truth, you won't get in trouble." Unfortunately, the method didn't yield the desired results. Recalling how his children took advantage, Will told the podcast: "Because they do whatever they want and then just come tell you. It's awful, don't try it. You want your kids to lie, definitely, you don't want to know some of the stuff your kids are thinking of doing." Despite his huge parenting error, Will and his children still have a great relationship. Their enviable bond was on display during the Capital's Summertime Ball on June 15. During the Father's Day performance, the "Bad Boys" star brought up his 26-year-old son, sending the crowd into a frenzy. "Can you get yourselves up for a second and say hi?" Will asked Jaden, who jokingly replied, "I'm only joining cause it's Father's Day." A proud Will gleefully told the crowd, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is my son Jaden. It's a very good time to say I love you. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there, that's my guy right there." The father-son duo hugged sweetly before Jaden exited the stage. Will has also been in the headlines for his music comeback. Earlier this month, the 56-year-old dropped a new single titled "Pretty Girls." Unfortunately, it received lacklustre reviews. Fans online picked a problem with the catchy tune because of its suggestive lyrics about sex. In one line, Will raps about the different "flavors" of women, listing "vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, lemon." Also, the music video, which began with Will describing a "problem" to a therapist, came under heavy scrutiny. "He should slap himself for making this music," one fan wrote.

Donald Trump and Sean Hannity Set Off a Wave of Disinformation After Iran Bombing

Jun 23, 2025 11:33 AM Trumpworld has been trying to spin the US military's bombing of Iran as a complete and total victory, even as independent experts and MAGA loyalists object. Photograph: Michael M. Santiago/Getty Images President Donald Trump and his most vocal supporters have been using disinformation, fake videos, and mental gymnastics to try and spin the US military's bombing of three Iranian nuclear sites as a complete and total victory that signals the end of a war instead of the beginning. On Saturday night, with the B-2 stealth bombers that dropped a dozen GBU-57 'bunker buster' bombs on the Fordow underground nuclear facility just beginning their flights back to the US, Trump declared the mission a complete success. But rather than relying on information from his own intelligence agencies, satellite imagery, or on-the-ground reporting, Trump instead posted on Truth Social a screenshot of an X post from an anonymous account that claims to conduct open source intelligence investigations. 'Fordow is gone,' the account, which lists the website of a Zionist clothing company in its biography, wrote, providing no further information. Trump followed this up by claiming in a press conference that Fordow had been 'completely and totally obliterated.' It immediately became clear that the triumphant declarations were likely premature, with Trump's own military officials pushing back against his assessment. 'It would be way too early for me to comment on what may or may not still be there,' said general Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Israeli military officials told The New York Times that while the facility had sustained significant damage, it had not been destroyed. Additionally, a senior Iranian official told Reuters that most of the highly enriched uranium (HEU) at the Fordow facility had been moved before the bombing, while the director of the International Atomic Energy Agency told The New York Times that HEU previously stored at the Isfahan facility had been moved before it was targeted by US strikes. Trump's early declarations of success on Truth Social set the tone, though—and appear to have inspired others. Fox News host Sean Hannity, among the loudest proponents for bombing Iran in recent weeks, posted the same phrase the account Trump screenshotted did—'Fordow is gone'—on his Instagram account, alongside a video of a massive explosion. The video, however, does not show Fordow, and is instead of a December 2024 Israeli strike on a missile base in Tartous, Syria. Hannity's post, which remains on the platform, had been viewed more than 5 million times as of Monday morning. That same video and other obviously fake videos have been shared widely on platforms like X, Facebook, and TikTok, with accounts also claiming they show explosions at Fordow. In some cases, users on X asking Grok to verify the footage have been told by X's AI-powered chatbot that the footage is real—even though it is not. Despite the pushback from his own military, Trump has continued to claim that the Fordow facility had been destroyed. 'Obliteration is the accurate term,' Trump wrote on Sunday evening in a Truth Social post. Trump's effort to frame the bombing as a decisive end to Iran's nuclear ambitions, while heavily disputed by arms control experts, was picked up on by supporters who claimed the bombing raid had effectively ended any potential conflict. 'Nobody is celebrating war,' right-wing commentator Dave Rubin wrote on X on Sunday morning. 'People are celebrating the end of war.' Pro-Trump commentator Ben Shapiro hailed Trump's actions as historic on his YouTube channel: 'President Trump was never going to start world war three…he played this absolutely perfectly… President Trump was not dragged into a war, he managed this with absolutely stunning professionalism.' However, just hours later, Trump raised the possibility of an extended military engagement in Iran when he suggested replacing the current leadership in a post on Truth Social. 'It's not politically correct to use the term, 'Regime Change,' but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn't there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!,' Trump wrote. Trump's suggestion came after his own vice president, secretary of defense, and secretary of state had all declared that the bombing raid had nothing to do with regime change. A MAGA cohort had warned for weeks that any attempt to replace the Iranian government would lead to a protracted war that would see US troops on the ground in the Middle East getting involved. Charlie Kirk, a conservative political activist who had repeatedly voiced his opposition to war with Iran, appeared to make a U-turn on Sunday evening in response to Trump's 'regime change' post. 'A bottom-up revolution rises from the will of the people,' Kirk wrote on X. A top-down regime change is engineered by elites and the intel community. One is organic, the other is orchestrated, forced….President Trump is talking about an organic uprising.' Kirk was mocked by other right-wing influencers for his U-turn. 'Oh now it's TOP DOWN US led regime change that your [sic] against,' influential podcasters Keith and Kevin Hodge, wrote on X in response to Kirk. 'Not just regular old regime change. We get a new and improved regime change sponsored by the intel community and defense contractors!' While some of the loudest opponents to engaging in military activity in Iran—such as Tucker Carlson—have yet to comment on Trump's suggestion of regime change, many have criticized the weekend's incidents. 'American troops have been killed and forever torn apart physically and mentally for regime change, foreign wars, and for military industrial base profits,' representative Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote in a lengthy diatribe on X after the bombings. 'I'm sick of it.' Meanwhile Alex Jones, the school shooting conspiracist and Pizzagate conspiracy promoter who filed for bankruptcy in 2022, said Trump's regime change comments would drag US troops into the conflict. 'Now Trump joins in, essentially calling for regime change, that's called sleepwalking us into total war, not what we voted for,' Jones said on his Infowars show on Sunday night. On Monday morning, Trump himself indicated that the fallout from the US bombing raid may continue for some time, writing a post apparently in response to speculation that Iran will close one of the world's busiest oil shipping channels, the Strait of Hormuz. 'EVERYONE, KEEP OIL PRICES DOWN. I'M WATCHING! YOU'RE PLAYING RIGHT INTO THE HANDS OF THE ENEMY. DON'T DO IT!' Trump wrote on Truth Social, before adding: 'To The Department of Energy: DRILL, BABY, DRILL!!! And I mean NOW!!!'

Jay-Z Joins Beyoncé For Surprise Performance at Cowboy Carter in Paris

Originally appeared on E! Online made an upgrade to her Cowboy Carter tour setlist. And she did it with the help of a surprise guest: her husband Jay-Z. The "Empire State of Mind' singer shocked the crowd inside the Stade de France for the final "Cowboy Carter tour stop in France June 22 after he took the stage with his wife for the first time in seven years. Jay-Z dressed for the occasion in all-black overalls and bolo tie, which he paired with his signature Timberland boots. He and Beyoncé performed their 2003 hit 'Crazy in Love,' before launching into his hit 'N----as in Paris,' which he originally performed with Kanye West. Changing up the lyrics to suit Queen Bey, Jay-Z rapped, 'Might let you meet Bey, H-Town's hero' instead of the original line, 'Might let you meet Ye, Chi-Town's hero,' paying homage to his wife's hometown of Houston, Texas. And while Jay—who tied the knot with Beyoncé in 2008—left the stage after his songs, the couple had the crowd on their feet, including celebrity guests Cardi B and Kelly Rowland. Beyoncé then rounded out the moment with 2013's 'Drunk in Love' remixed with her song 'Partition.' More from E! Sharing pieces of the moment with her fans, Beyoncé shared images of her and Jay-Z posing backstage after the show on Instagram. And the rapper isn't the only surprise guest Beyoncé has welcomed to the stage. Just days earlier, Miley Cyrus became the first guest of the Cowboy Carter tour, joining Beyoncé for their Grammy-winning duet 'II Most Wanted' during the June 19 show. But with Jay-Z's appearance, Cowboy Carter has officially become a family affair. Each night since the beginning of the tour, Beyoncé has been joined by Blue Ivy, who has become a principal dancer in the show, and even has her own solo dance break to her mother's hit 'Deju Vu.' What's more, Rumi has also stolen the show with her sweet moments during '16 Carriages' and with her big sister during 'Protector.' And since Bey and Jay's daughters have shared their talents with the world, their parents aren't the only people in awe by their star power. Tina Knowles previously gushed over her granddaughters' stage presences. 'Oh, I'm so proud of Rumi,' the Matriarch author told E! News in March. 'All of my grandchildren, all of them are amazing.'
