Kyogo sets Rennes exit rules as Celtic see Strelec domino fall in striker search and Iheanacho door opened again

Brendan Rodgers is looking to add depth to his frontline this summer before the Champions League qualifying rounds
Stade Rennes misfit Kyogo Furuhashi has revealed he will assess his future in pre-season after his ill-fated Celtic exit.
The Scottish champions are set to bring in Fulham talent Callum Osmand this summer - and the 19-year-old looks set to be given the chance to stake a first-team claim this summer.

He will aim to provide competition for Adam Idah and Daizen Maeda next term - who have been left to fill the void left by the January departure of Kyogo.

The Japan international struggled to even make the matchday squad in the final weeks of the season - and has yet to find the net for his new club.
Speaking to Japanese media, he said: "I will decide on my future after seeing how things go during the pre-season."
L'Equipe report that Kyogo is on a list of Rennes "undesirables" issued by boss Habib Beye - with a cut-price deal on the cards just months after his £10million arrival.
A replacement for the Parkhead fan favourite could be moving forward with Slovan Bratislava adding to their frontline.
David Strelec was was the subject of a £7.5m offer from the Hoops in January - with the Slovakian champions holding out for £9million.

Strelec wrapped up the campaign with 25 goals to his name and hasn't been shy in opening the door to a Celtic switch.
And the arrival of Swansea City striker Mykola Kuharevich - who spent last season on loan at Hibs - to Slovan could clear a path to Glasgow's east end.
But general director Ivan Kmotrik Jr insists he is is currently planning for a strike partnership: "We watched Mykola during his time in Scotland, where he was a guest from Swansea.

"We are acquiring an interesting alternative to the point of attack in him. He has played for the youth national teams, has experience in international football.
"Mykola uses his physical assets, but at the same time is a technically proficient type of striker.

"He can bring increased competition and expanded options to the point of attack for David Strelec, from whom he is typologically a little different.
"I am very happy that our negotiations have come to a successful end, and we have signed a four-year contract with Mykola."
Celtic could also revive their interest in Kelechi Iheanacho after they failed in a January move for the Sevilla striker.

He excelled under Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City but ended up joining English Championship side Middlesbrough on loan in the winter window.
As he prepares to return to Spain from Boro, Sevilla's sporting director Victor Orta has opened the door to an exit again by branding the addition of the Nigeria international 12 months ago a "mistake".
He told Spanish media: 'I want to clarify that the strikers were brought in as complements, to be practically the third striker, because there was a starter like Youssef (En-Nesyri) and a striker who later appeared, like Isaac (Romero).
'But it's clear that betting on Kelechi this season has been a mistake, and we will analyse why we made it and we are doing so now.'

SFA hit back at Rangers over John Brown ‘corrupt' row and ‘remind clubs of their responsibilities'

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THE Scottish FA have hit back in their row with Rangers over the controversy surrounding John Brown's comments made in a match against Hibs last season. Rangers released a strongly worded statement on Thursday after the club were handed a £3,000 fine by Scottish Football's governing body after being found in breach of the rules. John Brown Credit: Keith Campbell - The Sun Glasgow This was after the former Gers defender branded Scottish football 'corrupt' live on the club's TV channel when a goal by Nicolas Raskin was chalked off at Easter Road. Rangers were furious and raised concerns about "clarity" and "confidence" in the system. In response the Scottish FA said in a statement: "We note Rangers' response to the determination of a recent independent Judicial Panel Tribunal. "In the interests of accuracy, we wish to address some of the misleading comments contained therein: "The sanction imposed by an independent panel was entirely in keeping with the application of the rules. "The most recent and relevant example of a similar breach, the sanction imposed on Richard Foster of Motherwell FC for comments of a similar nature in the media, attests to that. "Furthermore, to address the comments regarding 'rationale behind differing outcomes', we wish to point to the fact that investigations were undertaken in previous cases outlined and that the Compliance Officers of the time saw fit to issue a censure by way of warning letter for potential breaches deemed insufficiently serious to be progressed to a Notice of Complaint. "This system of proportionality has been adopted since the inception of the Judicial Panel Protocol in 2011. "Indeed, such discretion was exercised last season when the Compliance Officer wrote to the club to warn of the future conduct of players following matters involving Vaclav Cerny, Dujon Sterling and Mohamed Diomande. "We also note that Rangers intend to contact the association to seek clarity on the Judicial Panel Protocol and its application. "The club is, in fact, already represented on the JPP Working Group. "We have requested written reasons from the panel chair involved in the tribunal and in the interests of transparency will publish in due course. "JPP Rule 38 was introduced in response to the referee strike of 2010, when match officials campaigned for greater protection after enduring sustained personal criticism from clubs and fans. Ahead of a new season, we remind clubs of their responsibilities in this regard." More to follow....

'Cup win is massive boost, but Dons must find momentum'

Former striker Lee Miller believes Aberdeen's Scottish Cup win will have given all at Pittodrie "a massive boost" but now they must build "momentum" from Thelin's side shocked Celtic to lift their first Scottish Cup in 35 years and secured a spot in the Europa League play-off round in the process."It's been a long time coming, a Scottish cup up there," ex-Dons forward Miller said."I think they can only take positives out of that, having beaten a really good Celtic team that did really well through the season."I think they need to come off the back of that and have the momentum to now kick on in the new season."The fixtures for the new Scottish Premiership season were announced earlier today and Miller added it will be difficult for the Pittodrie side to balance domestic football and European adventures."I think it's going to be tough for Aberdeen, but I think we will eventually - as a nation, as clubs in our country - get better at it," he said."The whole journey around being in Europe, whether it's different weeks leading up to it, different training days, we need to get better at adjusting to being in Europe because it has taken its toll over our teams over the past few seasons."We've got so many sports scientists and people that look into that, but as players, I think you want to play in games of that stature."
