Broadway star Sutton Foster has made her first public outing since explosive claims linking her to Hugh Jackman amid his bitter divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness
Sutton Foster turned heads at the 69th Annual Drama Desk Awards - but made sure to dodge any mention of her romance with Hugh Jackman. The 50-year-old actress walked the red carpet alone amid speculation over her connection to the Wolverine star, 56, whose messy divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness has sparked widespread chatter.
Furness, 69, officially filed for divorce two years after their separation and broke her silence in a powerful message which was seemingly aimed at her ex. 'My heart and compassion go out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,' she said.
Unbothered by the drama, Foster smiled for photos with costar Michael Urie but avoided press and exited the red carpet quickly, escorted by her publicist. While other stars like Nicole Scherzinger and Debra Messing gave interviews, Foster steered clear.
This was her first public appearance since Furness's sharp words. She was nominated for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical alongside names like Darren Criss and Jonathan Groff - who all stopped to chat with media.
Adding fuel to the rumor mill, Foster is reportedly 'slowly moving' into Jackman's New York penthouse - the same $22 million Chelsea home he bought with Furness in 2022.
'They're living together, they're inseparable... She's slowly migrating her things over to Hugh's place,' a source told New Idea. 'Deb is shattered knowing Sutton is making the penthouse her own - the place she poured her soul into.'
Jackman was recently spotted helping Foster carry boxes into the luxury apartment. Days later, she was seen biking away from the building. In her exclusive interview with Mail Online, Furness made her feelings painfully clear: 'Hugh's betrayal is a profound wound that cuts deep.'
'However I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us. This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage,' she said.
'Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose. It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom.'
The former couple filed for divorce in New York on 23 May. They then announced their separation in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage. Jackman, best known for playing Wolverine in the X-men film series, has not responded directly to Furness's statement.
The pair met on the set of the Australian TV show Corelli in 1995, shortly after Jackman had left drama school. They married the following year and later adopted two children.

When crews arrived, they found a man dead inside the residence. A 34-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and later charged with murder. A suppression order preventing the publication of any information that could identify the woman, the victim, or the specific details surrounding the man's death was issued. However, after the news broke, speculation surfaced online attempting to link Keira with allegations stemming from the police report. Telling her followers there were rumours she had been involved in the murder for "reasons beyond my understanding", the reality star took to her Instagram Stories today. The woman did not apply for bail and has been detained under the Mental Health Act. She is expected to return to court in December. The suppression order regarding the accused's identity is set to be reviewed by the court next week.

'My mum abandoned us to live in Kenyan hut with toyboy Masai warrior'

Meanwhile, his brother, who lives in Canada, also has little contact with their mum, according to the brother. Even before she abandoned them, Stevie's childhood had already been traumatic. His father, Robert Liddington, left when he was four-years-old, resulting in Cheryl experiencing a mental breakdown, MailOnline reports. The brothers were placed into foster care before Cheryl's second husband, Mike Mason, provided stability for the family and looked after them as if they were his own. But his life then shattered into pieces when he received a phone call from his mum saying she was never returning home. Matters were made worse, he says, after she spoke with the press. Children at his school would bring in newspapers and make fun of him after she shared tales of her unconventional romance. She swapped her home comforts to live in a mud hut in rural Kenya, where she lived off cabbage and cow's blood. The couple eventually left Kenya behind in 1995 so she could return to the Isle of Wight, and three years later, they had a daughter, Mitsi. They tied the knot on Valentine's Day, both wearing traditional Masai clothing. But when she reportedly would go missing for days, it was Stevie who was left to look after his half-sister. He remembers praying that she was still alive as he walked around the local neighbourhood for hours trying to search for her. Stevie claims that his mum's relationship with Daniel was "violent" and that he cannot forgive Cheryl for what she did, having firmly closed the door shut at any opportunity for a reconciliation, adding that she should "never have been a mother". Four years after marrying, Cheryl and Daniel split in 1999, with the mum citing that the spiritual warrior "turned into a miserable sod". She claimed her third husband changed whilst living in the UK, and became "obsessed" with wealth. And now three decades later, the mum-of-three, now 65, has opened up about her regretful past. "I made a huge mistake, it was very wrong of me, and I have a lot of regrets, especially about how it damaged my children," she told the Mail. She added: "Daniel was trying his best, but he could never understand the Western ways and couldn't be the dad that they needed." She maintains that there is "one good thing" to come of their difficult romance, which is their daughter Mitsi. Following their relationship breakdown, Daniel remained on the island, where he now works in a supermarket.
